I am a new patient at Diverse Minds clinic, and what stood out to me was the holistic approach taken during the assessment. Dr Cappai did not focus solely on ADHD symptoms but explored other aspects of my mental health, wellbeing, strengths, and life circumstances. I felt that the assessment looked at me as a whole person rather than simply trying to reach a diagnosis. Different possible explanations for my difficulties were considered carefully, which reassured me that the assessment was balanced and objective. I appreciated the clinician's willingness to explore overlapping issues and discuss how different factors may interact. I felt everything was well explained and thought that Dr Alex Cappai was a competent and intelligent Doctor. The only friction I felt was that our time was not as well-managed as it could have been. The session seemed to be split between retrospective (childhood) and current symptoms. A lot of time was spent on childhood symptoms, as I had difficulty remembering or providing adequate answers. My symptoms only became an issue especially apparent in my later teens and my adulthood. So having to rush through the final section on that made it feel like I was rushed and didn't get as in depth as I could have. I felt that everything was broadly addressed, though. It just felt odd to me that so much time was spent on childhood for an adult ADHD assessment. I would say I had a good experience otherwise.

I had a psychiatric visit with Dr. Cappi at Diverse Mind Clinic and it was a great experience. She was attentive, easy to talk to, and made me feel genuinely comfortable throughout the appointment. I left feeling heard and well cared for, and I'd happily recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful, professional psychiatrist.
