After years of struggles it seems things are getting better with my mental health. Since starting my journey at Diverse Minds Clinic a few months ago, I have appreciated how seriously my symptoms have been taken. Dr Cappai is very methodical but approachable and has helped me to clarify some misconceptions I've had about depression, bipolar and ADHD.
I was pretty anxious before my ADHD assessment with Dr Cappai because I have a long history of mental health problems and I had bad experiences with some other clinics. My experience this time was very good. The assessment was detailed and "personalised". Dr Cappai differentiated carefully between ADHD, anxiety and OCD symptoms clearly and answered my questions thoroughly. I left feeling informed and hopeful and I am definitely happy to continue my journey under her guidance.
I am very glad I met Dr Cappai. She has supported me from the beginning and given me many helpful recommendations for managing my ADHD. She has also been available to answer emails outside appointments, and I felt well supported throughout the process. I am now starting medications, and she has been very helpful to help me manage side effects as well
I have a previous diagnosis of OCD and ADHD from another service and I met Dr Cappai for a follow-up appointment. Talking about intrusive thoughts is not easy, but Dr Cappai approached the subject without any hint of judgement. She asked clear, structured questions to understand my obsessions and compulsions. Her tone was professional yet understanding, which really helped me to feel a bit less ashamed about my struggles. I know it will be a long journey but at least I feel supported now!
My son has an assessment for ADHD and Autism with Dr Cappai. As a mother I was naturally worried for my son’s ongoing struggles, and I feared that he would find the assessment challenging so I accompanied him to the appointment. What stood out during the assessment was the sense of containment in the room. Dr Cappai was always attentive and respectful. She took risk and safety planning seriously without being alarmist. I left feeling reassured with the care plan and we are happy to start this new journey.
I was assessed for PTSD and a review of my ADHD treatment (diagnosed in another clinic), which is not working so well anymore. Discussing past events was emotional, but I didn’t feel overwhelmed. Dr Cappai maintained a composed presence throughout. She explained treatment pathways realistically but with hope. I felt supported and am very grateful for the support I have received so far.
I saw Dr Cappai online for a review of my ADHD medications and recurrent depression. It is clear that Dr Cappai has experience working with trauma. She was careful with language and avoided being too technical. The conversation felt grounded and professional. I appreciated that balance. I was impressed with the professionalism of the service and how quickly I received my report and recommendations.
I was assessed for ADHD and Dr Cappai helped in my journey in a way I am very grateful for. The assessment was thorough and well structured. Dr Cappai maintained a reassuring tone throughout and considered different possibilities before forming conclusions. I felt confident in his evaluation.
I had an online assessment with Dr Cappai. Even when I struggled to explain my worries, she was patient. Dr Cappai summarised what I’d said to check understanding, which made me feel heard. The session felt collaborative and I left feeling much more hopeful.
I was assessed online for ADHD and depression. The consultation didn’t feel clinical in a cold way. Dr Cappai asked probing questions but did so gently. She took time to understand context rather than just symptoms and this left me feeling cautiously hopeful.

“Men don’t talk”, and it’s costing lives! Dr Alex Cappai, founder of Diverse Minds Clinic, shares an important perspective on why men are less likely to seek support and often present at a crisis point. Lower referral rates, delayed help-seeking, and increased risk of suicide highlight a serious and ongoing concern. Creating space for open conversation is essential. Strength lies in recognising when support is needed and taking action. www.diversemindsclinic.co.uk #MensMentalHealth #MentalHealthAwareness #DiverseMinds #SpeakUp #endthestigma

For many, the winter months bring a sense of melancholy or fatigue. But for adults with ADHD and autism, the challenges associated with the colder season can be even more pronounced.

Seen but never understood 🧠✨ Many adults have spent years adapting, masking, and questioning why life feels just a little harder than it should. Autism doesn’t always look the way people expect, especially in those who were never diagnosed. From sensory sensitivities to social fatigue, the signs can be subtle yet deeply impact. Understanding the “silent spectrum” means recognising these hidden experiences, validating them, and creating space for late discovery, self-acceptance, and support. Because it’s never too late to understand yourself better 💙 Read more and start your journey of awareness today 🌿 #AutismAwareness #Neurodiversity #MentalHealthMatters #AdultAutism #SelfDiscovery #diversemindsclinic #HiddenStruggles #Awareness
