About Miss Ayeshah Abdul-Hamid

Miss Ayeshah Abdul-Hamid — Consultant ENT Surgeon Adult & paediatric Ear, Nose and Throat care across Oxfordshire.

Miss Ayeshah Abdul-Hamid is a Consultant ENT Surgeon at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (John Radcliffe, Churchill and Horton hospitals), seeing private patients in Oxfordshire and London. She is known for clear communication and a meticulous, patient-focused approach, taking time to listen, explaining each option, and agreeing a realistic plan with every patient.

She qualified from Keele University in 2012 and completed higher ENT training across London, Oxford and the Thames Valley, including the prestigious Oxford Otology Fellowship in complex ear and hearing conditions. She runs the specialist balance and voice clinics at the John Radcliffe Hospital, offering detailed assessment of complex dizziness and voice change that few private ENT surgeons provide.

Conditions treated

  • Ear & hearing — hearing loss, ear infections, perforated eardrums, wax, tinnitus, cholesteatoma
  • Dizziness & balance — vertigo and complex vestibular conditions (dedicated balance clinic)
  • Voice & throat — hoarseness, voice disorders, swallowing difficulties, lump in the throat sensation, and tonsil problems, including coblation tonsil surgery — a precise, lower-pain technique.
  • Nose & sinuses — nasal blockage, sinus disease, hayfever, nosebleeds, and septal and turbinate surgery for a blocked nose
  • Obstructive sleep apnoea and breathing concerns
  • Children's ENT — glue ear, grommets, adenoids, and tonsils (including coblation tonsillectomy)
  • Neck lumps — assessment and reassurance

These are the conditions I see most frequently — they are not an exhaustive list, and I treat many other ENT problems too.

Before your appointment Many ENT problems are easier to understand — and sometimes ease — once you know what's going on. I've written clear, plain-language guides on the conditions I treat most, with practical steps you can try before we meet. You can read them here: Conditions I treat

Academic & teaching Lecturer in Medicine at the University of Oxford, she has served as Clinical Lead for ENT at the John Radcliffe Hospital. She has authored peer-reviewed publications and chapters in an internationally used ENT textbook and presented her work at national and international meetings. She also founded a national ENT trauma training course, JCST and ENT UK, approved, which other centres have since adapted and adopted.

The consultation was pretty much to time and I had a hearing test as well as the consultation with the consultant; both of which were really clear with their explanations and lovely. I felt the consultation was a positive experience and I felt supported in my questions and in a way forwards with my condition.
