Mr Vikas Acharya

Mr. Vikas Acharya is a Consultant Rhinologist, Facial Plastic, and ENT Surgeon with a specialist focus on disorders of the nose, sinuses, and facial function. He currently practices at The Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospitals (UCLH) and Spire Bushey Hospital. Having completed his higher surgical training in ENT at national centres of excellence within the North Thames London rotation, he went on to complete a prestigious Post-CCT fellowship in advanced rhinology and facial plastic surgery at UCLH. His surgical expertise was further refined through two nationally awarded, competitive fellowships in advanced rhinology and facial plastic surgery undertaken during 2023–2024.

Mr. Acharya brings a patient-centred, community-minded approach to ENT care, working closely with primary care teams to deliver outreach services in Enfield and promote preventative models of healthcare. His clinical interests span both common and highly complex ENT conditions, with subspecialist expertise in the management of nasal blockage, nosebleeds and hereditary haemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT), complex sinus disease including vasculitis and septal perforations, CSF leak repair, medical rhinology and allergy, and endoscopic sinus surgery.

He is particularly skilled in facial function and reanimation surgery, including the use of botulinum toxin and dermal fillers for facial palsy. Mr. Acharya is also experienced in performing awake, local anaesthetic nose and sinus procedures such as Clarifix, and has developed special interest in the assessment and management of smell and taste disorders.

To date, he has performed more than 3,000 surgical procedures, including over 100 complex operations for nosebleeds in patients with HHT and over 100 endoscopic sinus procedures for sinusitis with dental origin. He contributes to several multi-disciplinary teams, including joint medical-surgical rhinology clinics, facial function teams, craniofacial teams, and complex nasal vasculitis MDTs, ensuring that patients with rare or intricate conditions receive comprehensive and coordinated care.

Mr. Acharya holds a Master’s in Medical Education and an MBA and has been widely involved in teaching medical students, junior doctors, surgical trainees, and allied health professionals. His interests include simulation training, overcoming barriers to learning in clinical environments, and enhancing confidence in practical skills among trainees. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Authority, a Member of the Academy of Medical Educators, and part of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers.
