I went for an independent assessment of my prostate cancer diagnosis with a possible view to private treatment if I did not get chosen for focal therapy on the NHS trial that I hade been offered. Also to help me make my mind up which of the many options offered to me by the NHS A consultation was quickly arranged via Mr Doherty’s p.a. for £250 which my wife and I attended. I was given an excellent appraisal at the meeting followed by a letter that outlined a meeting Mr Doherty had with his peers to discuss my case. The letter confirmed that in their opinion focal therapy was a good option in my particular case having had access to my medical records This in my view was an excellent service for the fee but I was lucky enough to be chosen for this focal treatment under the NHS trial, I would have gone private had not my private medical insurance rejected my claim (that is another story) I am however indebted to Mr Doherty’s help and service which he provided So far the day operation held in Oxford on the 10th Nov 2025 has had very few downsides although I am still awaiting the final result on Jan 13th 2026 and hoping for a positive result from my consultant on this day The treatment was far less intrusive that the other options offered to me for which I count myself very lucky. Under the trial I will be monitored so that the NHS can find out how the longer term prognosis is for focal treatments so they are able to offer this more widely in the NHS. For my selfish sake I hope that it is good news for me and will enable others to benefit from my experience now and in the future. I am aged 74 and look forward to good health for the foreseeable future.🤞

Mr McLeod is friendly, empathetic and professional and I recommend him 100%. I consulted Mr McLeod following a shoulder injury sustained from dropping my motorcycle on the race track. In describing the accident and in his examination of scans of the injury, I had complete confidence in Mr McLeod's assessment. His recommendations for treatment (which in my case was non-intervention and progressive physio) took a holistic approach, weighing up the merits of allowing natural recovery of a cracked scapula against the collateral disruption that would have been caused by intervention and repair, along with my agenda to continue as soon as possible with my choices of lifestyle activities. I am completely happy with the outcome of the consultation - I've resumed all sport and I shall be back on the race tracks again in the Spring next year. A little concerned as to what seems to be a deterioration in standards. - my temperature was checked with an ear thermometer that didn't have a removal cap for hygiene so does this mean it's used in each patients ears? I did not see the deodorant change the cap or discard anything, just picked it up from the table. - my ultrasound scan felt completely rushed. The doctor kept looking at his watch through out my appointment. The machine was supposedly heating up and the doctor did no ask me to turn in the positions to check the organs we needed to see. - I was prescribed medication that can easily be purchased at any pharmacy and more cost affective to purchase without prescription - there is no where near enough privacy in the appointment rooms and the waiting area. It's quiet and I could hear almost the entire conversation of other patients. - I should have been offered a full urine test based on my blood results - over not the experience I've had before. Really disappointed.

I recently attended a Preconception Appointment with Mr. Adam Jakes at the clinic. Due to my individual circumstances there was some confusion in relation to payment and that spilled over onto me personally as well as causing stress across the whole procedure at the outset. This was resolved but exposes the fact that some attention needs to be paid to the way things are looked at and handles when the circumstances fall outside of the general conventions of the service provided. In the end it was all sorted out but the initial confusion and stress could have been avoided. I have no complaints but was a bit surprised at the apparent chaos at the outset. I have no idea if any one aspect was to blame, I think it was probably general confusion in relation to gaps in communication between the parties involved in payment etc.

The hospital itself was great and senior nursing staff on the day were informative and professional. My anaesthetist was phenomenal as was my amazing surgeon. However I had a bad experience with one of the health care assistants who wouldn’t let me use the bathroom and led to a bit of a weird experience. Plus when I got my stitches out two weeks later the nurse couldn’t see the stitches and she gave the tweezer to my fiancé who actually ended up getting the final ones out.

Oh my Davide was fantastic for our gender scan. We got to see way more than we anticipated, its little arms, legs, everything was explained to us, got to hear the heartbeat and have a usb to keep the memories. I highly recommend a private scan. We are planning to come back around 26 weeks and maybe again in the 30s as it can be quite some time between scans on NHS.
