Mr Achyuth Menon

Mr Achyuth Menon is a Consultant Laparoscopic Colorectal and General Surgeon with extensive experience in colorectal surgery, minimally invasive procedures, and gastrointestinal disease management. He has been a consultant since 2007 and provides specialist care for a wide range of colorectal and general surgical conditions, with a focus on laparoscopic techniques and cancer care.

Mr Menon qualified in medicine (MBBS) from the University of Kerala in 1993 and completed his Master of Surgery in Mumbai, India, in 1997. He moved to the United Kingdom in 1998 after successfully obtaining the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. He undertook specialist surgical training in the South of England before joining the Specialist Registrar Training Programme in the West Midlands in 2000, gaining experience across several major teaching hospitals. In 2006, he completed a fellowship in laparoscopic colorectal surgery in Bristol.

Alongside his clinical practice, Mr Menon has held a number of senior leadership roles within the NHS, including Service Director for General Surgery, Breast and Urology, and Clinical Chair of the Surgical Division at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He currently serves as Colorectal Cancer Lead.

He is a high-volume endoscopist, accredited endoscopy trainer, and faculty member of the East Midlands Endoscopy Training Centre at King’s Mill Hospital. Mr Menon has also contributed to peer-reviewed publications and is actively involved in surgical training and education.
