About Mr Jomy Kurian
Mr Jomy Kurian is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a subspecialty interest in upper limb surgery, including shoulder, elbow, and hand conditions.
He completed higher surgical training in Trauma and Orthopaedics within the Wessex Deanery, based at University Hospital Southampton, from 2000 to 2006. He passed the FRCS (Tr & Orth) examination in 2005. After completion of specialist training and CCT, he undertook an upper limb fellowship in Derby.
Since 2007, he has worked as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in upper limb surgery at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He provides both NHS and private consultations, including practice at Park Hospital.
His clinical practice includes the assessment and surgical management of upper limb musculoskeletal conditions. This includes:
- Shoulder arthroscopy for rotator cuff disease, instability, and impingement
- Shoulder replacement surgery for arthritis and rotator cuff arthropathy
- Elbow surgery
- Hand surgery, including Dupuytren’s contracture and carpal tunnel syndrome
Mr Kurian is involved in surgical education and training and serves as an examiner for the intercollegiate FRCS (Tr & Orth) examination. He is also a faculty member for AO UK and has contributed to published research in orthopaedics.
