Trusted Foot and Ankle Care, Focused on You
Mr Sam Singh is one of London’s most experienced Foot and Ankle surgeons, offering internationally recognised expertise with highly personalised patient care.
He served as Lead Foot and Ankle Surgeon at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust from 2005 to 2022, where he also trained the next generation of specialists. Through a fellowship programme he established, Sam personally trained 15 Foot and Ankle consultants across the South East, reflecting his depth of experience and standing within the specialty.
Sam graduated from the University of Cambridge and completed advanced training in Boston, USA. He is the only British surgeon to have been awarded a specialist Foot and Ankle Surgery fellowship from Harvard University. He now works exclusively in private practice, bringing nearly 20 years of NHS leadership experience into a setting focused on accessibility, continuity, and efficiency.
He treats the full spectrum of Foot and Ankle conditions, including sports injuries, ankle arthritis, bunions, hammertoes, Morton’s neuroma, Achilles disorders, and plantar fasciitis, using evidence-based and minimally invasive techniques where appropriate.
Patients value Sam’s clear, hands-on approach. Consultations are practical and outcome-focused, often including same-day injections, streamlined imaging pathways, and direct referral to trusted physiotherapists—reducing delays and unnecessary appointments.
Sam is also a recognised authority in patient education. He has served as Senior Editor for bunions and Morton’s neuroma for NHS Choices and regularly shares balanced, accessible guidance through podcasts and published articles.
His reputation is reflected in exceptional patient feedback and transparently published surgical outcomes, with over 800 recommendations on Doctify and nearly 500 on PHIN. High clinical volumes allow him to manage complex and uncommon cases while delivering consistent results for more common conditions.
Known for his professionalism, approachability, humour and calm confidence, Sam treats every patient with respect and clarity. He is a Platinum BUPA provider and a preferred consultant for all major insurers, with fees aligned to approved guidelines.

Mr Sam Singh is friendly, professional, and provides clear explanations to patients. He listens to concerns and explains everything in detail. Patients report excellent results from various procedures, including bunion correction, Morton's neuroma removal, and ankle ligament reconstruction. Many experience improved mobility, reduced pain, and smooth recovery. His expertise in foot and ankle surgery receives strong patient recommendations.
Sam was absolutely brilliant in treating me for my extra navicular bone. He was incredibly thorough in getting to understand my condition, looking to scans but also listening carefully to my specific experience and background. When we decided surgery was the most optimal route, he provided brilliant patient care making sure I had time to ask any questions and taking me through the process carefully. This also translated to my rehab where he laid out clear goals and aims, but also let my specific progress guide our timeline for recovery, adapting the approach where necessary. Sam truly made the whole experience as stress free as possible and I couldn’t recommend him more highly!

Wow, what a helpful review. Thank you
Its a year today since I had my right ankle surgery (removal of bony spurs) and I just wanted to say what a great result it is. It did take about 6 months to completely settle down and stop swelling (especially in last years hot summer) but I can honestly say I never think about it now. Mr Singh did warn me about the possibility of arthritic pain post surgery, because some cartilage loss was visible on the MRI, but this has not occurred to date. I have been long-distance walking and cross country skiing in the last 6 months (age 67 years) and am back to all my outdoor pursuits without any issues at all. After about 5-6 years of increasing pain it is like having a new ankle, and I am immensely grateful. It must be hard for Mr Singh to know the eventual outcomes of his surgical procedures, and I just wanted to say thank you. I am not sure what I would have done without his calm, realistic options and of course his surgical expertise.

Thank you for giving things time- the feet never get a rest so its a part of the body that can take a little longer to recover
In January 2026 I was introduced to Sam Singh with a suspected ruptured Achilles tendon. Sam confirmed the diagnosis and organised an ultrasound to confirm that the conservative treatment regime was appropriate. Last week I was able to remove my VacoPED boot and I'm now walking round again in my usual footwear. What a relief. From the moment I spoke to Sam, on the telephone, from the Physio's treatment room, I felt confident that I was in the right hands. Sam gave me precise instructions which I followed carefully, and he reassured me when I displayed anxiety about progress. The result is a repaired tendon which is now being strengthened, according to Sam’s guidance, by the referring physio. I’m very glad I was introduced to Sam!

Thank you for choosing me to look after your achilles injury. You have also been a very motivated patient
Sam is a delightful consultant. Easy to communicate with, friendly and puts paitents at ease. My daughter had an operation and everything was communicated well to us and the procedure went very smoothly.

Very kind words. Thank you
Sam was highly professional, personable, and consistently encouraging, always helping to keep a positive outlook throughout the process. The operation has been life-changing, and having the right advice and guidance at every stage was essential in seeing it through successfully.

They are big surgeries but you are doing really well. Thank you for the feedback
I first saw Mr Singh about 12 months after an ankle reconstruction done in Australia, with ongoing pain caused by a tethered nerve from scar tissue. He quickly made an accurate diagnosis, explored conservative treatments, and ultimately performed a complex surgery that has already brought significant improvement, with further recovery still expected. Throughout the process, his professionalism and care have been outstanding. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking help.

Very kind words. Thank you for letting me look after you and wit time you will continue to note improvement
My recent visit was excellent. Mr Singh was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and made me feel completely at ease while providing clear advice and outstanding care.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of bunion surgery with other patients. They will find it very helpful
Mr Singh is clearly an expert in his field who continues to take the time to explain things with clarity. He took the time to listen and diagnose with care, and performed surgery expertly. He was always willing to answer questions and his secretarial support was brilliant. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

So glad that we have been able to help with your ankle impingement. Hopefully you can get back to enjoying the activities you did.
After years of struggling with arthritic pain and big toe immobility which was also straining my hip, I decided to seek advice from Mr Singh. My foot was quite the mess, no cartilage in my big toe, large bony lump on top, swollen and damaged. After reviewing my options, he advised that i consider the Swanson big toe joint replacement surgery. The reason being that my priority was to maintain mobility in the joint (which was limited) so that I could continue practicing yoga. I am now 8 weeks into healing and the result has exceeded all expectations. The tight tendon in the arch of my foot is relaxed allowing my hip to no longer feel uncomfortable and strained. Possibly allowing me to avoid hip replacement at some point. The toe is flexible and mobile, I am pain free without the bony lump and I will be able to wear a range of footwear, no longer restricted to loafers and trainers!! The highlight of course is that I am back to my yoga practice which I know will be stronger than ever. For anyone considering this surgery I would not hesitate, it is transformational and although the healing process takes a bit of time, in my view it’s very well worth it!! Thank you Mr Singh, I am very grateful.

The Swanson SIlastic replacement is an excellent option for some patients who have Arthritic big toe joints. Its a fascinating implant that fell out of fashion for no real reason. It is the choice of treatment for certain groups of patients like yourself who still wish to maintain mobility for example with yoga. Glad to have been able to help you.
Sam diagnosed me with bilateral severe calcific tendinitis at the back of both heels, which was stopping me going on lengthy walks and increasingly troublesome in general. I was quickly admitted to operate on first one then the other ankle (about 3 months later). My layman understanding is that the tendons were removed, the bone pared back and the tendons reattached. The result was goodbye pain putting on shoes and hello long walks in the Lake District: truly life changing stuff for me! Frankly I can't thank Sam enough. In addition, Sam is super professional and very relatable (i.e. a top bloke!). Highly recommended.

Thank you for taking the time to leave the feedback. So glad that you have got back to doing the hiking which i know you enjoy so much.
Sam is an excellent orthopaedic surgeon, highly recommended and trusted.
