As someone with severe dental anxiety who had a bad toothache and was told by my previous dentist that a tooth extraction is very complex and I would need stitches and he could not do it. I then made an appointment with Mr Ali Al-Rikabi who was highly recommend. I was incredibly nervous but Mr Ali Al-Rikabi took his time explained the procedure and calmed my nerves. He then extracted the tooth perfectly in one piece with no stitches required. I was so happy with my care that I've already gone back for a second issue. Thank you Mr Ali Al-Rikabi and team you are amazing.

Can't recommend Dr. Ali and his team enough! I needed two teeth extracted and implants and was terrified at the thought of it. Dr. Ali was very patient, reassuring and thoroughly professional throughout, the whole procedure was painless and he kept me informed step by step which helped keep my nerves at bay. He was assisted by the lovely Cerys who made sure that I was calm and comfortable throughout. A lovely experience overall and I'm looking forward to the rest of my treatment knowing I'm in good hands.

Mr Ali Al-Rikabi performed a laser excision of my palate and closure with buccal pad of fat. Bit scary - but from the first, he was focused and informative and led me kindly through the procedure. Brilliant result ! Quickly healed and normal diet resumed not too long after due to his skill and care. I felt absolute confidence in him and was treated with warmth and clarity throughout. I hold Mr Rikabi in very high regard.

I recently had a dental treatment here, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. From start to finish, everything was handled with the utmost care and professionalism. The staff made me feel completely at ease, explaining each step clearly and answering all my questions with patience. What impressed me the most was how smooth and painless the entire procedure was. I had been a little nervous beforehand, but I honestly didn’t feel any discomfort at all. The dentist was gentle, attentive, and incredibly skilled—it truly made all the difference. The clinic itself is spotless, modern, and welcoming, which added to the overall positive experience. I walked out not only relieved but also genuinely grateful for such high-quality care. I highly recommend this dental practice to anyone looking for excellent, pain-free treatment. I’ll definitely be coming back for all my future dental needs!

Mr Al-Rikabi’s work was professional at all times. An all-on-four denture was a complex procedure, especially as there were some difficulties with my other teeth, and I felt he did everything possible to achieve a good outcome for me.

Amazing experience I already recommended 3 people and their feedbacks were great. Regarding my visit. Surgery managed to see me within 24 hours. I’m not a brave person when it comes to dentist but Dr Ali was so comforting and experienced that he managed to take my wisdom tooth out with out any complications

A case of Herpes Zoaster presenting as orbital cellulitis

A case of Herpes Zoaster presenting as orbital cellulitis

We presented an unusual case of ophthalmic herpes zoster masquerading as orbital cellulitis, resulting in delay in appropriate treatment. A 65-year-old woman presented with left periorbital pain and swelling of a week duration. Examination revealed periorbital edema and inflammation but no proptosis. The erythema extended onto the brow. There was no change in visual acuity and cranial nerve function was normal. She was apyrexial and all other parameters were within normal limits. The patient was admitted with an initial diagnosis of sinusitis with orbital cellulitis/dacryocystitis and intravenous co-amoxiclav and a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug were administered. The following day, there was little change in her condition with the ocular movements being normal and vision remaining unaffected. She was apyrexial but the periorbital swelling persisted. Computed tomography of the sinuses did not show sinusitis or a periorbital collection. The third day after admission and 10 days after the initial appearance of pain, vesicles appeared on the left forehead, which enabled a diagnosis of herpes zoster of the ophthalmic branch of the trigeminal nerve. She was then treated with acyclovir with a good result.

Acute otitis media causing visual loss: A case report and review of the literature

Acute otitis media causing visual loss: A case report and review of the literature

Acute otitis media (AOM) is usually self-limiting condition mainly affecting children. It may be complicated by rare but serious intra and extra cranial complications. Otitic hydrocephalus (OH) was described in 1936 by Sir Charles P. Symonds. The accepted pathophysiology is lateral cerebral sinus obliteration secondary to thrombosis and subsequent intracranial hypertension occurring after AOM. There are no clinical or serological features of meningeal irritation and no radiological features of hydrocephalus. The use of antibiotics has reduced the incidence of these complications. We report a case of permanent, bilateral visual loss secondary to AOM in an 11-year-old boy 0005 and 0010.
