Mr Colbert obtained his qualification in medicine at the National University of Ireland in Galway and proceeded to University College Cork in Ireland for his qualification in dentistry. His basic surgical training took place in the Severn Deanery while he had his Specialist Oral and Maxillofacial Training in the Wessex Deanery. After the completion of the National Training Interface Fellowship, he became a Consultant in OMFS at RUH. He had international fellowships in facial deformity at Bruges, Belgium as well as in advanced rhinoplasty surgery at the University of Illinois, Chicago. Mr Colbert is specialised in cosmetic facial plastic surgery, facial deformity surgery, and skin cancer surgery. He has many publications and chapters in peer review journals and renowned Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery international textbooks. He has received national awards for his research and for his extensive presentations globally. He is involved in various charities and in many surgical charity workshops in developing countries. He was a global oarsman and winner of a Commonwealth Gold Medal as well as other titles. He still takes part in rowing and he is a winner of the gold medal at the World Rowing Masters Championships in Copenhagen when he represented Bath in recent times. In the previous year, he won gold at the Henley Masters Royal Regatta.
