Here’s my story and without being overly dramatic, how Dr Chawla saved my life and the life of my baby. I had a high risk pregnancy due to a bicornate uterus, previous classical cesarean (vertical instead of horizontal incision of the uterus) and previous premature birth. We decided to seek private care when I felt that the midwives I saw didn’t understand the risks I was facing and I was referred to the wrong clinic to discuss my birth plan. I reached out to Dr Chawla after watching her introduction on the UCLH website and a friend who was in her care a year ago recommended her. As I was already 32 weeks pregnant and facing a high risk of uterine rupture, Dr Chawla made time to see me in less than 24 hours after I reached out to her. During our initial appointment, she truly listened to me and my husband, understood our concerns, the risks which we were willing to take and the risks which we were not willing to take. She explained the pros and cons of different choices, backed by data. We knew she was the right doctor for us before we walked out of the appointment. At 34+3 weeks, my uterus did rupture. As soon as I felt any discomfort, I phoned Dr Chawla and she answered on the first ring. She advised me to head to the MFAU at UCLH and keep her posted. Once I was seen at the MFAU, Dr Chawla was able to give instructions to the midwife over the phone and liaise with the team on the labour ward to make sure that my situation was given the urgency it required. Dr Chawla arrived promptly at UCLH and took me to the operating room. She acted with confidence and coordinated the actions of the whole team swiftly, not wasting any time. I lost 3.5L of blood due to the rupture. In this situation, I was facing a potential hysterectomy and even death. But Dr Chawla managed to control the bleeding and save my uterus. Her swift actions made sure that our baby girl is taken out as soon as possible, reducing any birth trauma she could have experienced. She’s doing very well while we are at the neonatal unit establishing feeds before going home soon. Despite the complexity of the surgery, my recovery has been much easier than after my previous c-section. The scar is smaller, it appears thinner and is not painful at all. Dr Chawla visited me frequently during my 3-day stay in the hospital, showing concern for both my physical and emotional recovery. She also reached out after I was discharged. I know that I can seek her advice anytime in case needed. Last but not least, it was very obvious to me that Dr Chawla is extremely highly regarded by all her colleagues at UCLH. Due to the circumstances, we don’t plan for another pregnancy. But if we were to have another baby, I’ll be in Dr Chawla’s care from day 1. I’ll also recommend her to all my family and friends! I really enjoyed working with Mr. Nakade and am extremely grateful for his support and care. As a woman, I’ve often felt anxious about working with a male gynecologist, but Mr. Nakade was exceptionally polite and thoughtful. He put a great deal of effort into creating a calm, respectful, and comfortable environment, and I honestly never felt awkward for even a moment. I trusted him completely and felt genuinely taken care of throughout the entire process. He explains everything very clearly, is extremely careful and attentive, and the quality of care was outstanding. I also heard excellent feedback about the surgery itself and the follow-up afterwards. I especially appreciated that he uses modern tools such as an AI notetaking system, which allows notes to be available instantly and accurately. This made the process feel very transparent and well-organized. Overall, I can only say positive things about Mr. Nakade and would highly recommend him.

Mr Wagh is a lovely gentleman. He explained clearly what my issues are, and his proposed treatment. This did not include surgery, which would have been in his financial interests and which had been recommended previously; and he explained very clearly why it was not the best course of action. The treatment he suggested is easily achievable without expensive assistance, and does feel like the best course of action even though I went into the consultation convinced I needed to go under the knife. I am very impressed with his bedside manner, ability to clearly explain the pro's and con's of all available options, and his recommending the best course of action for me, rather than including his own interests which we know from the recent news is not always the case.

Dr. Alex Cappai listened to me and made me feel heard. She was quite friendly, and I felt at ease during the assessment. I was diagnosed with Adult ADHD mixed type in my fifties, which was a bittersweet finding. Dr. Cappai provided me with practical counsel that was extremely beneficial, as well as the time I needed to comprehend my diagnosis. The staff at Diverse Minds Clinic have been really professional and helpful throughout the process, and I would strongly suggest this service.

Dr. Strange performed an angiogram/fitted a stent for my husband in October 2025. He was clear, decisive and reassuring throughout the process and afterwards. His genuine concern for his patients is best demonstrated by the way in which he responded quickly and positively to my husband's situation, adding him to an existing list at a few days notice. Even more impressively, he also took the time on that day to discuss with me an incident which had led to my admission to A and E two days earlier, recommended and arranged an angiogram and provided a quick, helpful diagnosis and management plan. It was beyind what we could have expected and I am very grateful to him - for both of us.

My visit with Mrs Bulchandani was thorough and professional, and I felt well supported. Mrs Bulchandani was able to provide initial reassurance following a hands-on examination. An ultrasound carried out on the same day put my mind further at rest, and bloods taken during the appointment confirmed where I was on my menopausal journey. I left the surgery with a definite plan for the future, and may I add a much more happier person than when I went in.

I thoroughly enjoyed staying in The Westminster Maternity Suite twice, after delivering my babies. The care, cleanliness, privacy, personal space and food are fantastic. I had really enjoyed staying there for the recovery after giving birth. The views of Big Ben both times were an amazing bonus for the night feeds of my newborn.

The 2 and half hour waiting time for a 5-minute test was severely dissatisfying. The endoscope tube was much too thick, thicker than it is necessary perhaps. Nowadays the medical technology is much advanced and I truly believe a thinner tube can do the job sufficiently as well as improving patient comfort.

A very calm, reassuring and friendly atmosphere. The New Victoria also had the necessary scanning and blood testing facilities just a few steps away from the consultation rooms. The hospital is well served by the 57 bus route but also has facilities for dropping patients off and also limited parking.
