About Mrs Ami Shukla
Mrs Shukla is a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist with a special interest in urogynaecology - having completed her training program on Oxford rotation she has been dedicated to gaining experience and has also travelled to Australia to learn advanced surgical treatment for recurrent prolapse.
Mrs Shukla was appointed as a Urogynaecology Consultant a Northampton General Hospital in 2010. Her first employment as a consultant Urogynaecologist was at Peterborough Hospital in 2009. She was trained in India and then in the UK, in the Oxford region.
She covers all the aspects of Gynaecology as follows:
Bladder function:
• Cystitis (urinary infection)
• Urge / frequency (overactive or urgent bladder)
• Urge incontinence (leak with urge)
• Stress incontinence (leak with exercise or activity)

Warm greeting and excellent bedside manner. I was successfully fitted with a pessary. However, when I got home I realised I had not asked enough questions such as how long it should stay in situ. Can I swim etc. These questions have now been answered by Google!
Mrs Shukla did everything she could do from the very start to reassure me. She never made an issue of my weight and was extremely positive about the support she could offer. I felt safe in her hands and can't recommend her highly enough! Thank you Mrs Shukla for everything.

This was my 3 month check up following gynaecological surgery. Ms Shukla examined me, explaining what she was doing and why and what to expect. She also arranged for one more phone check in a few months time for a final check. She was kind, gentle and answered all my questions fully. I can highly recommend her.
