About Mrs Ami Shukla
Mrs Shukla is a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist with a special interest in urogynaecology - having completed her training program on Oxford rotation she has been dedicated to gaining experience and has also travelled to Australia to learn advanced surgical treatment for recurrent prolapse.
Mrs Shukla was appointed as a Urogynaecology Consultant a Northampton General Hospital in 2010. Her first employment as a consultant Urogynaecologist was at Peterborough Hospital in 2009. She was trained in India and then in the UK, in the Oxford region.
She covers all the aspects of Gynaecology as follows:
Bladder function:
• Cystitis (urinary infection)
• Urge / frequency (overactive or urgent bladder)

Mrs Shulka was lovely, my granddaughter came to see her after two years of trips to her GP will very little help or advice ever being given and they were always very dismissive of her symptoms. Mrs Shukla took the time to actually listen to her and was very reassuring and we now feel hopeful that there are things we can do to help her manage her symptoms.
I found Mrs Shukla to be very kind, approachable & professional. She listened to my concerns, and arranged follow up scans quickly & explained things going forward with possible treatment.
Very communicative, Dr. Shukla listened all my concerns and she made a treatment plan very detailed and well explained. She was professional, empathetic, patient, honest and she proved that she cares about my health concerns and condition. She responded to all my questions and explained everything in detail. She given me good recommendations, to improve my condition, she written a detailed letter for my GP, she keeps in touch with me over email.
Ami is excellent at her job and will do her up most to get treatment started as soon as possible I suffer from pelvic floor muscle spasms and Ami as injected me to give me some relief before I go on holiday x
