I was recently and specifically referred by my optician to Saphire Eye Care and Prof. Luff to have treatment on my cataracts. Over recent years I have suffered from oedema in my retina which was now relatively stable and I wanted to receive the highest level of treatment so as to avoid any impact on my retina and a return to the sight problems that I had previously. I understood that there was potential for this to occur with normal cataract surgery. From the time my first appointment was made by Jennie, the medical secretary, through to the cataract procedures I was supported and cared for at every stage. Prof. Luff was very approachable, explained everything, and dvised me on the type of lens suitable for my eyes. The cataract procedure only took about 15 to 20 minutes, was totally painless and as it turned out was nothing to be worried about at all. My resulting eyesight is extremely good and any potential impact on my retina was completely avoided. I can only give Saphire Eye Care and Prof. Luff the highest praise and recommendation. If anyone is concerned about having treatment on.their eyes, eyesight is so important that I would say don't leave it too late and Prof. Luff and Saphire Eye Care is the first port of call that I would recommend.

Our 7-year-old daughter had to go through surgery to repair a hole in her eardrum, and from the first visit to the last (just had the all clear on her successful operation), Mr Manjaly was exceptional. He guided us through the various options ahead of the procedure, including the potential implications and challenges. Still, he was also clear and reassuring about what he would do and what he expected as an outcome. All in all, he and his team were fantastic with our daughter’s experience, which was so good that she was never fearful of the operation or recovery. I saw Mr Balfour regarding a persistent long term balance disorder. He listened very attentively and took the time to carefully review my past medical tests and reports. He was then able to suggest the next step forward to find the root problem looking at my symptoms from a different viewpoint which was quite refreshing as I felt no one had considered what I had been explaining in the past. Whether the tests will reveal the problem or not I am very grateful to Mr Balfour for his knowledge and professionalism.

It was an emergency appointment to deal with an infected tooth. All the staff were friendly and sympathetic and the dentist dealt with my problem, promptly and efficiently. The state of my tooth was examined and X-rayed and I was given the best options for treating it. I agreed my tooth should be extracted and I was given clear instructions on the post procedure care. The next day the receptionist rang me to ask if I was OK and to remind me I could contact the practice if I had any queries or after effects.

The ACE facility was very impressive with sleek and modern finishes, and sensitively designed for allergy with all shared areas wipable and allergen-free. As a mother of a young baby, it was also great to see the centre ideally set up for kids and babies with easy pram access everywhere and multiple baby change facilities. The centre also offered all allergy-related support services (blood tests, pharmacy, dermatology) under one roof, saving me from having to run around to get my child everything needed.

Dr Austin was very professional as well as being friendly and open and easy to engage with. He took a thorough history and did a full examination before discussing his diagnosis and proposed treatment plan with me. I was confident of his medical expertise and really appreciated his manner. It was only a 15 minute consultation but at no stage did I feel rushed or that more time was needed. Overall I was very satisfied with the experience and would thoroughly recommend.

Dr. Sumit Midya is an exceptional doctor who explains everything with clarity and ease. He is one of the kindest consultants I have ever met, and I truly value the way he consistently goes above and beyond in providing care. I underwent a HoLEP operation carried out by Mr Brewin and his team. Both the operation and my recovery have been excellent. Due to potential complications, in the event there were none, the operation was carried out in Salisbury NHS Hospital. Again the staff were friendly and helpful but circumstances at the time in the recovery ward resulted in the washroom facilities being less than acceptably clean.

The hospital provided a very positive experience overall. The environment was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful, which made everything run smoothly from arrival. The free tea and coffee facility was a lovely touch — the coffee was great. I received shoulder surgery and was able to be discharged the same day. All of the nursing staff were friendly and informative, the physio treatment and advice was informative. All the staff I came across were very friendly. I especially enjoyed the roast dinner which was hot when served (a new experience). I would highly recommend Mr Khan and the London Independent hospital.
