I underwent surgery at the end of September to repair an umbilical hernia, core stomach muscle repair, tummy tuck and liposuction. Having met Matt the year before when he carried out a bilateral earlobe repair to my badly split earlobes, I had no hesitation in asking him for his help and advice again. Due to the hernia and muscle separation, not to mention the large overhang I had following a hysterectomy a few years ago, I plucked up the courage to go ahead with surgery and I can honestly say it was the best decision I ever made. Three months on and already the results have superseded my expectations. I won't lie, I was scared stiff at the thought of such a major surgery, but after a couple of consultations prior to making a final decision, I felt completely reassured and certain that I wanted to go ahead. I was actually surprised how calm I felt on the day of surgery and I attribute this to Matt and his wonderful team at the Real Clinic, Battersea. My surgery was around 8.30am and I was home by 4pm that afternoon with Matt's mobile number in case of any worries or concerns. There is of course some pain and discomfort following any major surgery which I fully expected, but I was surprised that I only needed a combination of ibuprofen and paracetamol for the first few weeks. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Matt. He's a true genius and also very kind and genuinely caring of his patients. Thanks again Matt, you've totally changed my life. I look and feel better than I have for many years!

Initial experience poor. Arrived at reception, receptionist was on the phone. When call ended she walked away to do some admin. No 'Be with you in a moment'. When she came back, no smile and 'Welcome to One Hatfield' Just 'Have you been here before?' 'No' Well here's a form to fill in'. Felt a nuisance getting in the way of her important phone calls and administration work. Waiting area tired looking, main circular seating area looked like it needed a good clean. Strange seating arrangement with very narrow gaps to get through into main area. People called for their appointments from different directions and hard to hear names being called. Consultant seen was excellent, which raised the end experience overall. But not enough to make up for the indifferent receptionist.

He found a less mainstream solution ("Frequency Lowering or compression "), to a nuanced hearing issue I have, which he suggested we tried, and delighted to say it worked extremely well in my case. I understand went a procedure at Kingsbridge hospital Ballykelly. From my first appointment I was treated with care and respect. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My appointment prompt and quick. All question and queries I had where answered in a matter I could understand. On the morning of my procedure the room I was given was clean and bright. Staff were very attentive and made me feel at ease. After the op try he staff where always near taking vitals and super attentive. The staff and doctors made my stay comfortable and mostly pain free.

I received shoulder surgery and was able to be discharged the same day. All of the nursing staff were friendly and informative, the physio treatment and advice was informative. All the staff I came across were very friendly. I especially enjoyed the roast dinner which was hot when served (a new experience). I would highly recommend Mr Khan and the London Independent hospital.
