Mr Asif Parkar

Mr Asif Parkar is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist interest in sports knee injuries, ligament reconstruction, and joint replacement surgery. His practice includes the management of complex knee conditions as well as partial and total knee and hip replacement procedures. He also provides specialist treatment for patella instability and performs joint preservation procedures such as osteotomy around the knee. Mr Parkar takes a holistic and evidence-based approach to patient care and consults privately at Harley Street Specialist Hospital, Spire Hartswood Hospital, Spire East London Hospital, and London Bridge Hospital. 

Mr Parkar completed his specialist training through the Royal London Trauma and Orthopaedic Programme. Following this, he undertook advanced fellowship training at several leading institutions, including Barts Health NHS Trust and Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in London. He also completed a prestigious Level I Trauma Centre North American Fellowship in Calgary, where he gained further experience in advanced orthopaedic and sports injury management.

Through his training and international experience, Mr Parkar has developed expertise in the treatment of sports-related knee injuries and patellar instability using modern surgical techniques. His practice incorporates advanced technologies, including osteotomies around the knee and robotic-assisted joint replacement surgery, to support improved surgical accuracy and patient outcomes.

Mr Parkar is actively involved in research and academic activity. He has authored several book chapters and his research has been published in a number of peer-reviewed journals. His work has been recognised with awards including a prize for best research during his fellowship and an NHS Innovation Prize.
