I went in for total hip replacement on 2nd December with Mr Cusick. Form beginning to end I was made to feel very welcome by all of the staff. The main day nurse dealing with me was Caroline Leddy who was exceptional both before the op and then during the after care. Mark was the main night time nurse and again he couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. The physio, Heather, also deserves a mention for her lovely manner and clear instructions and advice. The procedure went very smoothly and I was surprised at how relatively little pain there was post op. Both consultants, Mr Cusick and Dr McCaffrey saw me before the surgery and again the next day. Both were friendly and reassuring and helped to keep the mood stress free. The catering was also fantastic. I was discharged the following day and, sitting at home barely 24 hr later, it was hard to believe what had just happened! Thank you All!

I’ve been seeing Mr Shilen Patel for around 10 months for ongoing TMJ and lockjaw issues. From the very first appointment, he was kind, approachable, and took the time to really listen. He arranged detailed investigations, including MRI and CT scans, and clearly talked me through all the treatment options — from mouthguards, Botox, and physiotherapy to surgery — so I always felt informed and reassured. After trying several treatments, surgery was recommended and carried out in November. One month on, Mr Patel has continued to check in regularly, offering excellent aftercare and answering any questions I’ve had during recovery. I was thoroughly delighted by the experience. I was booked in very swiftly and efficiently by Ms Lisa Beckles, Prof Redwood's secretary, who went out of her way to get me a quick response to my initial email requesting a consultation, arranged my stress echo and squeezed in an appointment for me on the same. The stress echo team conducted a thorough test of my cardiovascular fitness and went out of their way to provide an urgent report so that I could discuss the results with Prof Redwood only an hour after the event. My thanks to Marlene and Chiara (apologies for spelling) and to another cardiologist whose name I have unfortunately forgotten. Professor Redwood was as ever charming and efficient and told me some very good news!

I had an acute pain in my right leg and had difficulty walking. Having had IDD treatment at Osteopath West before for sciatica I called and was given an appointment later that day. On arrival i was given a thorough examination and it was decided that I most likely had a pulled muscle as well as a nerve issue. I had some deep massage on my back and leg followed by an IDD session. The result today is that the pain is considerably better and i can now walk mush better than before. I am grateful for the prompt appointment and the service I received and would recommend Osteopath West to people in a similar position.

I had bunion surgery with Mr. David Gordon in late June. It was all straightforward, exactly how Mr. Gordon explained it in his online meeting. He did additional surgery on two of my small toes, which has also greatly improved my mobility. My recovery has been swift with almost no pain or swelling. I'm really pleased with my 'new toes'. The only slight niggle I have is with the coordation with the London Clinic. I paid for a package but got chased by their accounts department. Generally I think there needs to be an easy system that makes follow ups more stream lined.

My overall experience was excellent, from the reception staff, being taken to the room, the 1:1 pre-operative discussions with Dr Lowe and Dr Barnard, to the nursing staff (continuity of the nursing staff and Daisy's approach and empathy), the theatre team and the post procedure care. I mentioned to Dr Lowe how impressed I was with the communication between the theatre team, which provided a great deal of confidence. I should also mention how well they communicated with me on a 1:1 basis explaining what they were doing.

I think it would be difficult to think of a better place to be a patient.

This was my first experience of the Hillsborough Private Clinic and the staff were very professional, knowledgeable and welcoming. While this is an older style building is was well set out and immaculately clean and while I appreciate that space is at a premium a groundlevel toilet facility would be an asset as while I have no mobility issues I can see where climbing stairs to the bathroom could be an issue for some.
