Ms. Shalini was my OB consultant at UCLH Fitzrovia, and I couldn’t be happier with the support she provided throughout my pregnancy. I began searching for a consultant during my first trimester and came across glowing reviews about Ms. Shalini. I booked an initial face-to-face consultation to understand her maternity support package and see if our communication styles aligned — which was really important to me. She struck the perfect balance between being compassionate and direct, and we connected immediately. I decided to go ahead with her 28-week package. The 28-week package included biweekly check-ups, with blood pressure and urine tests each time for peace of mind. She also advised on the timing of scans to monitor the baby’s growth. In the final weeks, we met more frequently. At around 32 weeks, although I passed the glucose challenge test earlier, a growth scan raised concerns. Ms. Shalini quickly arranged a repeat glucose test at UCLH, which confirmed I had gestational diabetes. She created a tailored diet plan and monitored my progress daily. With her guidance, I managed to control it well, and both the baby and I remained healthy. Due to the diabetes, we discussed the risks of a natural birth if the baby grew too large. Ms. Shalini clearly explained the pros and cons of natural birth vs. C-section, and I ultimately opted for a C-section. Birth experience: My water broke a day before my scheduled C-section. I called Ms. Shalini immediately, and she advised me to go to UCLH for monitoring. Since everything seemed fine, I went home. The next day the procedure went smoothly. Ms. Shalini encouraged me to see it as a “birth day” rather than a surgery, she was even helping me do my hair so I could feel good and capture the moment in photos. Her calm and reassuring presence made me feel completely safe throughout. When I experienced a brief drop in blood pressure after the surgery, she promptly arranged a scan to rule out any complications. Two months on, my wound has healed well and I feel healthy — I couldn’t be happier with my choice.

After careful consideration and conversations with other surgeons, I decided to have an upper blepharoplasty with Huw, and I'm so pleased I did. From the outset, Huw was kind, gentle, and realistic about how he could help me, while also being sympathetic to my desired outcome. He listened carefully and I felt reassured by his knowledge, professionalism and sensitivity, his kind and caring manner. On the day of surgery, he was compassionate and reassuring. He was especially gentle and seemed intuitively to understand how I was feeling. I also felt very confident in his ability as a surgeon. I trust and appreciate his considered approach, and genuinely feel he wanted the best for me, both in terms of the surgery on the day and how I'd look in the future, years down the line. I have been so pleased by my experience, and results as a whole, if I had any future eye surgery, I would only now go to Huw. He had my best interests at heart, and I have felt very well cared for and looked after. He is very skilled in what he does, and I can't recommend him enough to anyone considering embarking on ocular surgery.

Ms See is such an incredibly processional, caring and warm surgeon. From my initial consultation, all the way through to post surgery follow ups - the information she provided was super clear. She was always very open to my questions and concerns. She really listened (and remembered!) in detail everything we had discussed over the weeks which is impressive. Her communication / emails / follow ups were always very detailed and prompt. From what can be quite a daunting and emotional experience - Ms See made me feel very calm throughout. I completely trust her and would highly recommend her to anyone. Ms See is a highly skilled surgeon and a generous, kind person.

Mr Sanat Shah was courteous and professional at all appointments. He explained the procedure well and happily answered my questions. The operation took place on the agreed date and on time. Mr Sanat Shah visited me in hospital following the operation to check on my progress and I had three follow up outpatient appointments. Since the operation my knee has healed without concern and the difference having the operation has made to my life is huge. I can now walk for longer, further and faster without pain. I am very happy indeed.

This operation has been remarkably successful. Two months after the op, I can hardly remember which hip is the replacement, and have to remind myself not to run and jump yet. As well as being an exceptionally skilful surgeon, Mr Stafford was very thoughtful and understanding about my home circumstances, which meant that I was doubtful about keeping to the surgery date until the very last moment. It’s likely I will need my other hip replaced in the next few years, and I shall certainly ask Mr Stafford to do the honours.

I had a correction of a Bunionette on my left foot. Dr Al-Maiyah was very informative and positive at consultation stage that a positive outcome would happen. The operation went super well and I had NO pain at all from surgery to the removal of dressing some 4 weeks later. Extremely happy with my experience at this clinic. Had a very painful tendinopathy which has now fully healed. I was given a detailed assessment, followed by targeted exercises with 1-1 PT, soft tissue massage and a course of shockwave therapy. I am not in pain any more and I keep doing the prescribed exercises to strengthen the muscle to avoid further issues.

My only criticism is that the follow up call to go through the results should be mandatory and included within a combined cost. I personally found the results confusing and jumped to an incorrect conclusion, that significantly impacted myself and my partner.

Over 30 minute wait for a 5 minute scan despite pre booked appointment. Charing Cross Hospital now looks shabby and tired. The staircases were dirty and untidy with abandoned equipment etc. Apart from these observations, all the truly essential medical processes and equipment were excellent.

Had asked in advance for gluten free food kept getting gluten or no clarity. Tea coffee making facility for guests patients is unsafe & ineffective. Care is good. Staff are caring and well trained. Food and beverage still leaves room for improvement especially for any special requirements.
