I can’t recommend Shalini highly enough. She is one of the most kind, compassionate, and thoughtful people I’ve ever met, and she truly goes above and beyond for her patients. Having multiple underlying health issues, it was important for me to have someone who was empathetic, understanding, and mindful of my additional needs. She spent time getting to know me and made me feel reassured and supported throughout my pregnancy journey. Towards the end of my pregnancy, I developed further complications with gestational diabetes and pre-eclampsia. During this time, Shalini was constantly checking in on me, always making me feel safe, calm, and reassured, and never once making me feel worried or dismissed. Our beautiful baby girl was brought into the world earlier than initially planned at 36 weeks due to the pre-eclampsia and how the baby was tracking, and I genuinely don’t think I would have got through this frightening period without her constant reassurance and support. Even now, one week postpartum, she is still checking in on me, which shows how much she truly cares. I couldn’t have felt more comfortable or confident with a consultant, and I will forever be thankful for her support.

From my initial appointment with Mr Hoo, I felt all my questions were answered and felt at ease, from the onset I knew I would choose Mr Hoo as my surgeon. I had done a lot of research for my procedure and felt reassured from my initial appointment. Pauline (Mr Hoo’s nurse) was also very informative and patient regarding any questions which I had. My surgery was booked and due to unforeseen circumstances had to rescheduled, Brenda in appointments was very helpful and offered me a cancellation slot which I was very thankful for. On the day of surgery, I was admitted into the admission pod and here all staff were attentive, I met with the anaesthetist and Mr Hoo and thereafter went to theatre. The theatre nurse and anaesthetist were so lovely, talked me through everything and I felt reassured. Thereafter, in the recovery ward, the nurse was excellent when asked about pain, I was immediately given pain meds which eased the pain and brought upstairs to a room which the excellent care continued. Mr Hoo came to see me and answer any further questions, truly 5* service from the onset. The hospital was spotless and attention to detail by all staff was exceptional.

Dr Rehman is exceptional! In this meeting, as in all the others, she demonstrated an in-depth knowledge of the issues and her communication was excellent. She always brought us into the solution by helping us understand her prescription choices and the rationale behind them. Further, she paid attention to what we had to say about the symptoms etc. and importantly, also our state of mind and opinions. This was particularly reassuring. When she couldn’t give us exactly what we requested or suggested, she always helped we understand why and then provide more suitable alternatives. She came up with some treatment suggestions that we weren’t initially keen on but on further reflection, realise those may actually be perfect. In this meeting, as with all the others, she demonstrated, professionalism, knowledge understanding and empathy. And it’s perhaps her empathy and care that have always stood out the most, and given us that needed reassurance throughout the process.

Mr Rishi Sharma

Rishi Sharma and I met after being referred by a different doctor following on from a recent CT scan. He was very clear from the start and offered reassurance that came very naturally. He made my concerns feel valid and was willing to listen to the issues I was having. He took on board my current lifestyle including hobbies and career and encouraged them, rather than suggest anything else like I have had previously (I have lost count the amount of professionals that suggested I needed a career change rather than exploring to why I was so unwell). I am pleased mine and Rishi’s paths crossed and I will be forever grateful to him for helping and supporting me so well; not only through the surgery but he has gone above and beyond to support me pre and post surgery too.

The staff were incredibly helpful, understanding and supportive. I explained my concern and was given an urgent appointment. Vanessa S is the perfect person for her role and puts people at ease immediately. She secured me a hearing test and a consultation appointment on the same day. She also helped me with some of the administrative elements of using my private healthcare as the process has changed since I last used it. Very helpful, friendly, professional and reassuring. I was greeted on arrival, immediately shown to the waiting area and taken straight through to my first appointment, even though I was a few minutes early. Cannot fault the service I received and the care and professionalism was consistent throughout.

Pleasant waiting area with self-service drinks available. Within an hour you are called and escorted into the preparation/recovery room where you are prepared for the operation and the procedure is explained including a visit from the surgeon to check if you have any questions. The operation takes place in the adjacent theatre where again efforts are made to keep you informed as to what’s happening and before you know it you are escorted back to your recovery area for water and a biscuit. Staff were pleasant and attentive at all times. Once thoroughly checked out you return to the waiting area to be collected by your escort who has already been called to say your are ready for collection. I was back home within 2 hours
