A Life-Changing Experience – Thank You My wife is 62 years old and has battled alcoholism for 27 years. She had been to rehab three times before, but this time was different. After losing her mother – her last remaining close relative – she turned to alcohol once again, retreating from the world in her grief. As a family, we were at breaking point. In a desperate effort to keep a promise to her late mother, I kept her at home until the funeral so she could attend sober. It was one of the hardest challenges I’ve ever faced, but I managed it. Sadly, after the funeral, the drinking returned and we lost her to the bottle once more. When a small inheritance came through, I decided to try again. From the very first conversation, they understood exactly what we were going through. They acted quickly, knowing how critical timing is — when an addict asks for help, you must act immediately before the addiction takes over again. Addiction is not just the addict’s disease — it affects the whole family. They supported all of us, not just my wife. It’s now been four months, and I see a change in her I have never seen before. She is beginning to embrace sobriety in a genuine, lasting way. She speaks openly when she feels low or has a difficult day, instead of turning to the bottle. That openness has been life-changing for the whole family. I will always be grateful for their understanding, dedication, and wisdom. They didn’t just help my wife — they helped give our family hope again.

It is an incredible shame this is now no longer provided through the NHS. Without this, my quality of life would be significantly worse. I attended HSSH for a hip examination under anaesthetic with a local anaesthetic injection with Professor Griffin. I cannot fault the administration in the run up to the procedure, or the care and attention that I had before, during and after. All the of staff, from the reception team to the team involved in the procedure itself - Prof Griffin, Dr Kazmi (anaesthetist), Rebecca (physio), Remmi (nurse) + all the theatre staff, made it efficient and comfortable. They also accommodated my request to stay a little longer than was necessary, until my partner could get to the hospital to escort me home until, which was much appreciated. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or use HSSH again.

I'm really happy with the result of two stage operations. I had gynaecomastia and liposuction and fat grafting to my upper chest. Several months later I had bilateral pectoral implants and fat grafting to right chest to correct assymetry and flat chest. I initially requested one stage chest wall implant but professor Erel recommended two stage operation. He checked my scan results with his colleagues in MDT and recommendation was two stage operation. I wasn't really happy with that plan but I followed it and it turned out to be and an excellent result, more than expected. Professor Erel knows his job and he's a great surgeon. I'd definitely recommend him for any chest wall surgery.

I had lens replacement surgery with Mr Hove and it was honestly the best experience I've had with any medical professional. He spared no effort in explaining the procedure, ensuring I had all my questions answered, that I was comfortable with what each step would be. From the phone call the night before to answer any other questions I might have to the experience in the surgery, to the great tunes to distract me and a nice meal to fill me up afterwards, it was all top notch. I went in for an initial consultation to figure out my options and within a month, I had my vision back again. I'm so happy I decided to go through with it, it's been a life changer.

I saw my doctor. My doctor is amazing. I had blood tests. The process was OK, but not all tests as expected were reported. I collected medicines from the pharmacy. Their records of my needs were lacking and they refused to resolve the issues. I had to return to the hospital another time and they had corrected themselves and I received what was prescribed. The fee charging system from Imperial is haphazard and I receive charges that are not even incurred. There are no explanations or discussion. My medicine is charged a price 35% higher than a comparable cancer hospital not far away. Imperial needs to be more transparent and fair in their charges.

We have seen Dr. Jawad for both of our boys over the last few years, and I have never met a doctor as kind and professional with children. My eldest son has always been very scared of doctors, but Dr. Jawad made him feel completely comfortable — it was the first time I had ever seen my son so at ease during an appointment. Dr. Jawad always takes his time, carries out a thorough check-up, and treats the children with such care and respect. Honestly, he is the best doctor we have ever seen, and we are so grateful for the way he looks after our boys.

Thursday afternoon visit, the surgery did not adjust to be that busy, arrived before my appointment time but still had to wait till after my scheduled time before being seen. Cat was blocked in when I be wanted to leave and I requested for the owner to move their vehicle as I had other engagements scheduled. No sense of urgency amongst the staff it appreciation that my time is as valuable as theirs. Managed to manoeuvre my car out whilst waiting so impact was not as bad as if I had waited for the other to move their vehicle but it was irritating.

(Program included a Chiropractor and 2 Physiotherapists - Soft tissue and Exercise) Following my initial diagnosis, which was both thorough and explanatory, I always received a warm welcome at Reception which helps when you are feeling fragile. The program mixed between all three experts and I only ever had to wait a few minutes for my scheduled appointment. Each expert was friendly, professional and put me at ease straight away.

Such was that information I immediately booked an appointment for 30 mins afterwards. The Dr was very thorough from start to finish took a full blood sample and reassured me that all avenues would be checked and a diagnosis would avail of it .. We were anxious about our daughter Abigail going under anaesthetic but put completely at ease by the friendly and professional team. Mr Moor gave a detailed description of the procedure and we particularly liked that our daughter was given the choice of IV or gas administration of anaesthesia. Nurse Jen provided exceptional care and was kind and compassionate throughout. Aftercare advice on discharge was very thorough. The ward was spotlessly clean and food very good.
