The communication from Skylignt is poor. My final report stated I did not complete 2 of the questionnaires, which I did, as I saved copies of my answers in case technology failed. Nobody chased these missing questionnaires and the response time when I did contact the admin team was 15 working days each time. All of the timescales I was told from start to finish were very inaccurate. Some of these timescales are still on the website. From referral to acknowledgement I was informed 6-8 weeks and it was 9 weeks. From acknowledgement/forms to initial appointment I was informed 8-12 weeks and waited 16 weeks. From assessment to report I was told 8-10 weeks and it was 14 weeks. I have been told 9 months from October until medication titration, but I can’t trust that this timescale is accurate. The staff are very friendly and helpful and brilliant when you do have an interaction with them, but the volume of work must be beyond current capacity to provide such inaccurate information to patients who are seeking support/diagnosis for a condition that requires accuracy and creates a high level of anxiety.

I met Professor Ben Miranda at the Spire Wellesley hospital in Essex. He was very approachable and I felt comfortable explaining my condition to him. He showed genuine interest and we discussed my options. I was booked in for surgery very quickly and the communication from his office was prompt and concise. On the day of surgery I felt completely at ease. We discussed the procedure again and I was excited to start! We chatted throughout the procedure, it all felt very calm. Before I left the hospital, I knew about the aftercare, what to expect in terms of recovery duration and my follow up appointments were all booked in. The whole experience was so much easier than I thought it would be, it's been a total pleasure being in Professor Miranda's care, I genuinely couldn't be happier with this whole process. Would highly recommend him for your surgery, he's not just a great surgeon, he's a very warm and considerate man.

Abbi Clinic have been nothing short of incredible in supporting me with my recovery journey. I was really apprehensive about this style of ‘therapy’ but I am so glad that I took their advice and tried it because the structure of the clinic is perfectly curated to individuals needs. I was able to talk to him in advance of my treatment to ask any questions which hadn’t already been covered in the literature I was given (there weren’t many as the literature was very comprehensive). He was able to help me decide which lenses were the best choice for me and my surgery was pain free and quickly completed. I am grateful to him for a very positive experience and I am delighted with the results.

Mr Gill seems to me a very accomplished surgeon in the knee surgery field. He did an excellent job on both my knees, they both appear to be working fine and the scarring is much less than expected. Especially on my left knee where it's hardly noticeable, many people, even nurses, say it doesn't look as though I've had such major surgery done. 10 out of 10 Mr Gill. He is very easy to talk to and has great approach to his work.

My visit was well run with all preparations going smoothly. Apparently it was rather difficult to waken me after the operation and therefore had to remain overnight. I was told that I would be contacted approximately four weeks after, but this didn’t happen. I would have liked to have been explained the reason for the problem with my awakening as it might be useful should I need a general anaesthetic in the future.

I was extremely lucky to be referred to Dr Loke on 29.01.26. Both Dr Loke and his clinician are certainly at the top of their fields of expertise. They were able to accurately establish that my loss of taste & smell is caused by Allergic Rhinitis. Although out of specialty, Mr Loke has requested my referral to a Specialist at Guys Hospital.

The first follow up clinic post operation was satisfactory and Professor Hindley answered several questions I had about my recovery . I think the recovery period was longer than I expected . I’m not used to taking things easy . A further consultation was scheduled for March when hopefully everything will be back to normal .
