She specialises in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of traumatic brachial plexus injuries, birth-related brachial plexus injury, thoracic outlet syndrome, nerve compression syndromes, peripheral nerve tumours and advanced nerve reconstruction surgery of the upper and lower limb. She regularly treats patients with weakness, paralysis, neuropathic pain and sensory disturbance resulting from complex nerve damage.
Miss Panagiotidou trained at University College London (UCL), where she obtained her MBBS and an intercalated BSc (Hons) in Pharmacology. She completed higher specialist training in Trauma and Orthopaedics on the UCL rotation and was awarded a PhD in Orthopaedic Surgery from University College London in 2018, strengthening her academic expertise in peripheral nerve research and reconstruction. She holds Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in Trauma and Orthopaedics.
She completed advanced fellowship training at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital’s Peripheral Nerve Injury Unit - one of the UK’s highest-volume centres for brachial plexus and peripheral nerve reconstruction. She subsequently joined the consultant team and now leads the service as Clinical Lead, overseeing complex referrals from across the UK while maintaining an active specialist surgical practice.
In addition to her clinical work, she contributes to the national development of peripheral nerve and brachial plexus services and collaborates with the UCL Centre for Nerve Engineering and the UCL Centre for Neuromuscular Diseases on research focused on surgical innovation, imaging and long-term outcomes following nerve injury. She has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications and regularly presents at national and international meetings.
Her practice is defined by meticulous assessment, technical precision and a collaborative, patient-centred approach, ensuring individuals fully understand their diagnosis and treatment options.

Miss Anna Panagiotidou provides clear explanations and professional care, instilling full confidence in patients throughout their treatment. She performs various successful procedures, such as elbow ulnar nerve revision, leg surgery, and lipoma removal. Patients report significant pain relief and good healing after surgery, highly appreciating her diagnostic abilities, expertise in peripheral nerve surgery, and comprehensive explanations of conditions. Her understanding covers a wide range of peripheral nerve conditions, including Schwannoma and peripheral nerve injury.
Doctor Panagiotidou stands out for her professionalism and compassionate, patient-centered approach. We felt comfortable and safe from the very first moment we met her. She explains everything in a simple, clear, and pleasant way. Truly exceptional.
I have to say that I am very happy with the outcome of my appointment and Ms. Panagiotidou seemed very knowledgeable. Even the appointment was a 30-minute video call (due to living in Greece), I can say I became more aware about my issue comparing to all the other medical appointments I had so far in Greece. She also made me feel more confident and more optimistic that even if things don't go well with my physiotherapies, a solution can still be found.
Miss Panagiotidou was once again very clear in her explanations and I felt confident that I was getting the best advice.
After years of seeing various health professionals, Dr Panagiotidou listened, evaluated and arranged for further tests to be carried out. She gave me confidence in both her ability and that she was trying to sort out the problem without resorting to surgery.
After continuing to have significant problems following a previous ulnar nerve operation elsewhere, I was fortunate to be referred to Dr Panagiotidou. She took the time to understand the full history, clearly explained why she recommended revision surgery, and her intraoperative findings made sense of the symptoms I’d been experiencing. Throughout the process I felt I was benefiting from genuine specialist expertise in a particularly complex peripheral nerve case. She is thoughtful, highly skilled, and always took the time to answer my questions thoroughly. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone facing a difficult peripheral nerve problem.
Miss Panagiotidou was very clear in explaining things. She was very thorough and the consultation did not feel rushed at all. I would not hesitate to recommend her.
Anna performed a revision surgery of the elbow ulnar nerve for me one year after the first failed surgery done elsewhere. It has been like a day-and-night experience both before, during and after the surgery, as well as during the first few weeks of recovery. I am very grateful to Anna and to all her team at Wellington.
I’ve been under Anna’s care for 6 months. I cannot speak highly enough. The surgery I had late last year has been successful and I can proceed with the next stage of my rehab. Thank You, Anna.
Dear Dr Panagiotidou, Thank you for the excellent care during my recent leg surgery. Your skill, attention, and professionalism were outstanding, and I felt fully reassured throughout. The follow-up care has also been exceptional. The team at Wellington Hospital were equally kind and supportive, making the whole experience smooth and comfortable. Kind regards, Will H.
I cannot fault my experience with Miss Anna Panagiotidou. She combines excellent care with a bedside manner which puts you at ease. I will definitely come to her again for any future procedures.
Anna is an outstanding surgeon who combines expertise with a calm and compassionate approach to patient care. She takes the time to understand complex presentations and provides thoughtful, well-considered management. She is approachable, dependable and a pleasure to work alongside.
