Miss Anna Panagiotidou is a leading peripheral nerve surgeon in London and Clinical Lead of the Peripheral Nerve Injury Unit at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore. Her practice is dedicated exclusively to peripheral nerve surgery, making her one of a small number of specialist peripheral nerve surgeons in London managing complex nerve injuries on a high-volume basis.
She specialises in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of traumatic brachial plexus injuries, birth-related brachial plexus injury, thoracic outlet syndrome, nerve compression syndromes, peripheral nerve tumours and advanced nerve reconstruction surgery of the upper and lower limb. She regularly treats patients with weakness, paralysis, neuropathic pain and sensory disturbance resulting from complex nerve damage.
Miss Panagiotidou trained at University College London (UCL), where she obtained her MBBS and an intercalated BSc (Hons) in Pharmacology. She completed higher specialist training in Trauma and Orthopaedics on the UCL rotation and was awarded a PhD in Orthopaedic Surgery from University College London in 2018, strengthening her academic expertise in peripheral nerve research and reconstruction. She holds Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in Trauma and Orthopaedics.
She completed advanced fellowship training at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital’s Peripheral Nerve Injury Unit - one of the UK’s highest-volume centres for brachial plexus and peripheral nerve reconstruction. She subsequently joined the consultant team and now leads the service as Clinical Lead, overseeing complex referrals from across the UK while maintaining an active specialist surgical practice.
In addition to her clinical work, she contributes to the national development of peripheral nerve and brachial plexus services and collaborates with the UCL Centre for Nerve Engineering and the UCL Centre for Neuromuscular Diseases on research focused on surgical innovation, imaging and long-term outcomes following nerve injury. She has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications and regularly presents at national and international meetings.
Her practice is defined by meticulous assessment, technical precision and a collaborative, patient-centred approach, ensuring individuals fully understand their diagnosis and treatment options.
Outside of medicine, Anna enjoys cooking and hosting friends, travelling, playing tennis and running marathons, reflecting her commitment to maintaining a balanced and active lifestyle.

Anna performed a revision surgery of the elbow ulnar nerve for me one year after the first failed surgery done elsewhere. It has been like a day-and-night experience both before, during and after the surgery, as well as during the first few weeks of recovery. I am very grateful to Anna and to all her team at Wellington.
I’ve been under Anna’s care for 6 months. I cannot speak highly enough. The surgery I had late last year has been successful and I can proceed with the next stage of my rehab. Thank You, Anna.
Dear Dr Panagiotidou, Thank you for the excellent care during my recent leg surgery. Your skill, attention, and professionalism were outstanding, and I felt fully reassured throughout. The follow-up care has also been exceptional. The team at Wellington Hospital were equally kind and supportive, making the whole experience smooth and comfortable. Kind regards, Will H.
I cannot fault my experience with Miss Anna Panagiotidou. She combines excellent care with a bedside manner which puts you at ease. I will definitely come to her again for any future procedures.
Miss Panagiotidou was clear, calm and concise and gave me full confidence in the procedure she undertook in removing a lipoma in my forearm. I’m pleased to say that my arm is moving well this morning with minor discomfort and no need for pain relief, which I’m over the moon with.
Miss Anna Panagiotidou is one of the best healthcare professionals I have dealt with. Clear, calm and concise, she makes you feel very well informed and that your care and the plan for treatment has been thought about carefully. And even on a busy day, you are made to feel that you are the only person that matters during your appointment.
Miss Panagiotidou is probably one the best if not the best clinician I have ever met. She listened to all my explanations with genuine interest and took great pains to get at the root of the problem. it was very obvious that she had a deep understanding of all the issues I mentioned. ( or even overlooked) I was very impressed by her expertise and her approach and will follow her advice scrupulously. It was a privilege meeting her.
Anna explained clearly the issue I had and the probable way forward whilst awaiting further analysis
Miss Panagiotidou is very professional and explains things very concisely and clearly. Her manner is very friendly, and my overall experience was very pleasurable.
