Mr Ashraf Elsharkawy

Mr Ashraf Elsharkawy is a Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon providing specialist vascular care across Warwickshire and the West Midlands. Alongside his role at University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire NHS Trust, he also consults privately at Nuffield Health Warwickshire Hospital, where he offers advanced assessment and treatment for a wide range of vascular conditions.

With more than 15 years of clinical experience, Mr Elsharkawy trained at leading UK institutions including King’s College Hospital and Manchester Royal Infirmary. His background has provided extensive expertise in both open vascular surgery and minimally invasive endovascular procedures, allowing him to manage complex vascular disease using modern, evidence-based techniques with a strong focus on patient-centred care.

He is particularly recognised for his expertise in varicose vein and venous disease treatment, offering minimally invasive procedures such as radiofrequency ablation (RFA), foam sclerotherapy, and micro-sclerotherapy for spider and thread veins. His approach prioritises effective symptom relief, improved circulation, cosmetic outcomes, and faster recovery times.

Mr Elsharkawy also specialises in advanced lower limb revascularisation and limb salvage procedures, particularly for patients with diabetic foot disease and critical limb ischaemia. Following a dedicated fellowship at King’s College Hospital in 2018, he developed advanced expertise in restoring blood flow using both open surgical and endovascular techniques to help prevent limb loss and improve long-term vascular health outcomes.

In addition, his practice includes the management of aortic aneurysms and carotid artery disease, with a strong emphasis on stroke prevention and complex vascular reconstruction.
