Newmedica Leeds. 5* Care from start to finish. My optician at Specsavers suggested it was time to consider cataract surgery and I was offered an NHS referral to my choice of providers. I chose Newmedica Leeds and just over 2-3 weeks later had an initial consultation at Newmedica. Unfortunately my high blood pressure caused some problems and delayed the first cataract operation to my left eye, after 4-5 weeks weeks I had surgery on my first eye and 5-6 weeks later my second eye was done. Without exception all of the staff I met at Newmedica were friendly, helpful, and very caring. The consultant who carried out the procedure on both eyes (Mr. Kamran Khan) took the time to explain the procedure and answer my questions. During the procedures he was reassuring and calmly explained what was happening. Both procedures were carried out successfully and my sight is so much better now. I would like to give a big thank you to Mr Kamran Khan and his team and my Optometrist Summer Elyoussfi and her team for all the care and attention I received. I have no hesitation in recommending Newmedica Leeds.

I have been with the practice for a number of years and have mostly been pleased with the experience. The only thing I have a problem with is that the staff of all kinds do not speak loudly enough. There is always a lot of noise from machines etc. and soft voices, and sometimes accents, make it difficult to understand., especially when it has a medical content. Also nobody seems to understand that they should make sure the patient is comfortable, as the chairs vary in design and all do not adjust when required. Otherwise I am pleased to have found the practice many years ago and have gone through a good few different staff members in that time, so the experience has been interesting, despite the stairs! I am lucky to have good teeth.

Hello I was very upset when the hospital charge me for XRAY in an NHS hospital that we have to be in the queue and don't get the private care. I had a fall in June 2024 and had an operation at RFH unfortunately the operation was not successful. I can't walk properly I am on a stick and have lots of pain. If I go to private is because I don't have any access to NHS but that doesn't mean that for diagnosis I need to pay while me and my family are paying a lot for taxes and don't benefit for our health when we need and are desperate. I also have been to another private consultant to find out what went wrong and if I can ever get better and can walk but they just charge me for consultation not XRAY in an all private clinic. Thank you

Dr Chopra also addressed additional concerns beyond the initial reason for my visit, offering a broader treatment approach, which I appreciated. While I understand that diagnosing multiple issues within a half-hour appointment is challenging, the consultation was helpful and provided the reassurance and confidence boost I was looking for.

I arrived early, as I was expecting to be seen in time, but my appointment was late ~45mins. I had discussed on the phone that I wanted to see someone who is going to be helpful with discussing menopause and other related issues. I was paying for the appointment myself, so I had high expectations. Unfortunately the time with the doctor felt rushed and I felt not heard. I had done a lot of research on holistic menopause care, and I felt that the doctor wasn’t in the same wave length with me. I was just advised to go and read more on menopause in two different websites. Examination was fine and straight forward, but to be sure of the diagnosis I will need futher procedures.

The consultant was very reassuring throughout. The teams, medical and physio, came across as calm, competent and professional. The nurses and reception staff at the hospital were friendly, calm and professional not just to me, the patient, but to my wife as well. Recovery after the procedure was less daunting than I feared it would be, the pain experienced was less than I feared it might be, and the rehab process has been every bit as easy as I was told it might be. Mr Yazbek my consultant is a highly experienced and skilled specialist but more importantly a warm and reassuring practitioner who has made me feel I could not be in better hands. I came to see Antonia for a makeover smile everything was explained in my last appointment and a price plan that we went through together. My appointment lasted 2 hours was seen straight away with a lovely welcome as always, also her male nurse was very nice and understood everything that she needed to hand. she talked me through each procedure. Very professional I now have a natural looking makeover smile my front teeth weren’t that bad but needed cosmetic correcting and that’s what I have now.
