O 13 December I attended for a pre-med prior to spinal tap. Very good treatment until advised that the spinal tap cancelled due to my ECG. I was urged to immediately contact my GP or A&E. At Worthing A&E I was advised that due to current medication that I am taking for this issue it would have been OK to continue with the spinal tap and it was suggested that One Hospital refused to continue due to your lack of facility if the op went wrong. The journey to One Hospital, 90 miles each way, the time taken for that journey and the pre med followed by 2 hours in A&E was expensive. Before attending One Hospital I had completed a form at your request which listed the medication that I was taking and the reason. Why was I invited to that pre med? This is the second time that One Hospital have refused to go ahead with an operation that was subsequently completed by NHS without a problem. I now have no confidence in the One Hospital and will not seek further appointments.

I feel the signs to tell you where to go could be clearer my mobility is not good had quite a long walk to get inside the building. My ultrasound scan was carried out with such speed I felt it was rushed, I had to ask for white paper roll to protect my clothes from being wet from the gel ,while the scan was being carried out the nurse sat behind the consultant on his chair ! I feel she should have been at the bottom of the couch standing at my feet reassuring me & asking if I was comfortable.kingsbridge give “an excellent 1st class experience re procedures” I’m afraid in my appointment this was not the case , over the years i have had many experiences with ultrasound and this was the worst , i could not have been on the couch anymore than 4 or 5 minutes very disappointing.

After having ankle replacement surgery on 28/10/2025 which went very well from admission to discharge I returned today 16/12/2025 to have the plaster cast removed and fitted with a moon boot. My overall experience with Nottingham City Hospital and Mr Raglan and his team was more than satisfactory and in no way an unpleasant experience due to the excellent care of everyone involved with myself. I felt that every step was explained to me in a concise manner and I felt confident this was the right path for me. Anyone needing ankle replacement surgery should be reassured that Mr Raglan, his team and all the nursing staff will care for you In a befitting manner and there really is nothing to worry about. My daughter had her tonsils removed here last week. The whole experience was amazing. The room that she was brought too was lovely and so clean . The staff were all so nice and put her at ease . She wasn’t scared at all and didn’t want to leave when it was time to go . I couldn’t recommend this place enough. From the catering staff, nurses , anaesthetist and Dr Greg McBride himself , I couldn’t have asked for a nicer bunch of people to care for my daughter.

To help other people having the operation, I would encourage them to have it and explain its hard work at first but gets easier the more work you put in yourself , meaning physio work , sticking to the plan and not doing too much or definitely to little and being patient, success will come it might take time . I'm totally pain free which probably took a good 4 months to get there , now after nearly 10 months I have no problems whatsoever!
