I recently had ICL surgery with Blue Fin Vision, under the care of Mr Hove, and wanted to share my experience. From the first consultation, the timeline to getting to surgery was pretty quick, with a few tests and a small, pre surgery procedure done in Harley street. I also had plenty of face time with Mr Hove, and his clear explanations and reassuring manner made a huge difference to what is quite a big decision! The procedure itself took about an hour, and it was a little stressful — as you’d expect — but the team did absolutely everything they could to help me feel comfortable and supported. In hindsight, I should have considered the level of sedation I wanted (as I only went with oral diazepam) and I know I could have had this conversation with Mr Hove beforehand if I had just given him a call. I felt throughout that Mr Hove’s number 1 priority was delivering the absolute best outcome possible for my vision. There was some discomfort right after, but by the next day I felt close to completely fine. The 1-week, 1-month and ongoing checkups are incredibly reassuring in terms of monitoring my eye health. Before surgery I had significant long-sightedness and astigmatism, and now I can see clearly without glasses or contacts — genuinely life-changing. Communication from Blue Fin Vision has been excellent throughout, and they were always happy to work around my busy schedule. Overall, I’ve had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend Blue Fin Vision and Mr Hove.

I attended for spinal MRI. Unfortunately the technician was running late for which I was happy to wait but because of timing his communication to me was very poor. I was shown a room to change and left there without any guidance, I was then taken to the MRI machine and not spoken to really to ask if I was okay or to provide any reassurance. I don’t like MRI scans because can feel anxious within the machine. All it takes is a little bit of reassurance and acknowledgement for which I had none. Throughout the test the technician did not speak to me at all to ask if I was okay. I am not sure if this is normal but I found during the MRI it became quite hot which I have not experienced before. When the test was over he hurried me away from the machine without acknowledging my back could be hurting when getting up, which it was a little. He didn’t show me to the door so I had to ask if I was allowed to go and then left the room to change and go home. My review would be it is the smallest common curtesies that makes all the difference to a patient and this time I did not experience this at all. So much so I won’t be choosing to go to this venue for another investigation

I am a very active 51 year old man and Mr Atkinson fixed my medial meniscus tear which had been obstructing movement in my leg. After 8 weeks I am back swimming, practicing Yoga 5 times a week (all poses including deep squats and child pose) and I also started kick boxing again. I will be training jiu jitsu again in a week's time. I also climbed the stairs at Highgate tube station this week - all 100 of them - without any pain or locking. I had a very good experience with Mr Atkinson. From initial to final consultation I was very happy with the care given to me. In fact my girlfriend who is also a doctor was very impressed by Mr Atkinson's knowledge on a variety of questions she asked. He was very accommodating of her as well allowing her to talk to him on the phone and with me in my final consultation. I want to thank Mr Atkinson for putting me forward for this care, without this I would be struggling with my physical activities and now I have a new lease of life. Thank you so much.

Dr. Fiona Moore who looked after us was truly exceptional — so kind, patient, and deeply respectful with my child. She gave Madison all the time she needed to feel safe and ready, explained everything gently and clearly, and never applied any pressure. Her friendly, calm manner made an experience that could have been very stressful into something positive and manageable. The staff at the clinic were also wonderful — welcoming, understanding, and very supportive throughout our visit. Everyone treated us with kindness and professionalism, which made such a difference to our day. It’s rare to meet a doctor and team who combines such professional skill with genuine warmth and understanding, and we felt completely supported from beginning to end. We are so thankful for the way we were cared for, and would highly recommend this practice to anyone.

Miss Tilottama Nandy

Dr. Tilottama Nandy asked all the necessary questions before proceeding with the polyp removal and even made some small talk to help put me at ease, which I appreciated. However, the option of local anaesthesia was not discussed beforehand; though before administering it, she did confirm that it was safe during pregnancy. The preparation for the procedure felt lacking, as the anaesthesia and the scalpel/scissors were not readily available. The nurse had to leave to gather these while the speculum was already inserted, which caused additional discomfort that could have been avoided with better readiness. After the procedure, the doctor ensured that I rested for about 10 minutes and checked that there was no excessive bleeding before discharging me, which I found reassuring.

I have just attended a post op review with my consultant. From receptionist to radiographer ( review xray ) to consultant all staff were welcoming , friendly and empathetic. The time waiting to be seen was minimal and each staff member was efficient and ensured the visit was without issue and all concerns were addressed . Mr Islam, my consultant ,discussed In detail my postop xray and listened to my experience of recovery with interest and empathy - allowing me to tell him anything that had concerned me. My post op recovery status was assessed and encouragement given for further progress with a one year review planned . I left the appointment completely satisfied that I had treated by a person with the highest level of skill and professional attitude.

I had a shoulder injury and having worked with KT before I knew that I needed to see her before it got any worse! After the initial consultation KT diagnosed it as bursitis. She gave me different exercises to help with the range of shoulder movement. KT liaised with my PT so that he was clear about what exercises I should be avoiding for the time being in the PT sessions. KT really clearly explained what the exercises would be helping with and why I should be doing them. After about 5 sessions, with progressive exercises over the sessions, my shoulder feels SO much better. KT is really encouraging and motivating. Her knowledge and manner are exemplary!

Dr Jawad is an extremely knowledgable and thoughtful doctor. His bedside manner with the children show that not only is he an excellent doctor, he genuinely cares about your child. He always takes the time to explain everything to both the parent and the child and we have been so so pleased to have found him as a doctor. His investigations are very thorough, explanations always clear and informative and he is so personable and friendly with the children. It’s delightful as a parent to see your child so well looked after. So pleased to have found him!

Overall an efficient and excellent course of treatment. Because I have hearing loss occasionally hearing explanations was challenging.. The first time I have had a urethral catheter. Looking at the catheter passport information it recommends a catheter securement device similar to a Velcro strap. Unfortunately I was offered no such device and had difficulties with the tubing since it extended almost as far as my knee cap. Using plasters etc was not helpful since it had to be removed when urinating.

Overall I got what I needed which is all that matters ultimately. Found it annoying to have to fill in yet another paper form when I’d registered online as requested via email the day before. Yet another different NHS portal - the third I have had to sign up to. Was also not happy to be asked for a credit card when I was there as a fully insured patient. I was told it was ‘policy’ but when I said I’d rather not it no longer seemed to be policy.
