I have had Cataract operations to both eyes January-March 2025. Things didn't start well when the Surgeon, in a 'telephone consultation' with me, committed to a price for the new lenses I would get. This was later overruled by the Management who told me the Surgeon didn't have the authority to agree a price with me. So I had to pay quite a bit more than I was originally told. As in some £400 per eye more. Amusing to observe how the 'care' (on the NHS, but sub-contracted to this private business) was promoted as being 'Exactly the same as Private Medical Care'. Oh no it wasn't ...it was much better. Once I was flagged up as 'potentially suitable for a PRIVATE operation' using Implants that were 'Not available on the NHS' I was treated very different. Previously done examinations were repeated 'to be sure'. Does that mean they are not sure if you are a NHS Patient? ;). Additional examinations 'not available on the NHS' were done. Am I being unfair? A short review would just say this: *Generally excellent professional friendly staff. * Medical care excellent. But.... Appointment waiting times need reviewing - I have always had to wait at least 45 min, sometimes more than on hour, before being seen. Why? If you depend on a relative or friend to drop you off and pick you up it sometimes got a bit difficult: Is this appointment going to take 30 Min, or 4 hours? Nobody knows. Admin/organization sometimes a bit confused - Why did I get an email survey for my right eye, and not for my left? Waiting in the corridor between different checks in different rooms a bit of a hit and miss - staff running around, folders being handed over, people sitting and waiting being missed, the order in which things were done got a bit confused sometimes, patients reminding passing nurses that others who arrived after them were seen before them. But all with good humor! But, in the end, I can see excellent again with both eyes - and that is what is really important.

Professor Yacoub Khalaf

Obstetrician & Gynaecologist

I'm a private patient, and I had the pleasure to be treated with Dr. Khalaf twice at the Assisted Conception unit at Guys and St. Thomas Hospital. The first time, I did egg freezing and the second time I went with my husband for assisted conception assessment. The summary is that Dr. Khalaf is highly professional and respectful, he was honest in the treatment plan that I needed and suggested against unnecessarily procedures. Also, he was available to answer all my questions at any time, and was flexible with weekend appointments to match my work schedule. He is very respectful and made me feel comfortable during the examination. For egg freezing, a friend of mine referred me to Dr. Kahalf, and he exceeded my expectations. He explained the process very well, and  made me feel comfortable asking any question (even the silly ones). He gave me his phone number and was always available to answer any question at any time. The process was very smooth too, as I picked the medications from the hospital and Dr. Khalaf showed me how to take it. The eggs retrieval operation was also very smooth as the staff at the hospital were kind and nice.     My positive experience with Dr. Khalaf led me to go back to him with my husband for assessment for assisted conception. From day one he told us that we don't need IVF and the pregnancy should happen naturally. Then, he guided us through the assessment process and did a sperm test for my husband followed by a HyCoSy test for myself.  Both tests were fine, and he told us to try again and wait. We tried after the HyCoSy test, as he suggested it increases the chances of natural conception, and I got pregnant without the need to go through IVF!  I would definitely recommend Dr. Khalaf!

Dr Dinkar Bakshi

Paediatrician, Consultant Allergist

Doctor Bakshi is a responsible and dependable healthcare professional who has been successfully treating my MCAS since 2024. He explains his clinical decisions and treatment plans within his detailed letters, provides additional information via leaflets/resources, never rushes an appointment, and has always made every effort to facilitate care with my local NHS GP services (e.g. tests done on the NHS where possible, as well as repeat prescriptions, due to self funding limitations). Doctor Bakshi is also one of the most reliable healthcare practitioners I have encountered; he makes sure you are well supported outside of appointments by kindly answering inquiries over email, and has issued prescriptions in a rapid manner! For example, I unexpectedly had a flare-up of Angioedema during Christmas, but thanks to Doctor Bakshi, who very kindly replied to my email out of hours and called me, I was able to get medication the same day. As it was the holidays, the Doctor had even gone above and beyond to help me find a pharmacy that was open and able to prescribe, as well as reassuring me of the treatment plan. The Practice manager, Rahul, is also very polite and courteous; communication is clear and efficient, and it is no surprise that the clinic is well organised.

This was so different from when I was here 10 years ago. The nursing staff were so lovely this time, cheerful and friendly and Lou was particularly helpful. All staff everywhere were kind and pleasant. The physiotherapists led by Carmen were astonishing. Their whole approach was helpful and kindly, the exercises were achievable, the support was just excellent including the post op phone call to me at home. I feel really positive about it all. I also commend the food, it was fantastically good especially the lamb stew, very Elizabeth David . And I really liked the inflating things on my feet the first night, very soothing. The one thing I didn't like was the tsunami of emails with essential information, each with a link to a cloud, needing a password . This took ages to navigate, and I gave up. When I mentioned this in person I got a really good booklet which I'm still using. It takes seconds to flip from section to section, it works and is useful. Perhaps if each email made it clear what section it's about, then that might help. But it's quicker to use the paper version.

From the very beginning, she has been extremely professional, knowledgeable, and attentive. What really sets Isabella apart is how thorough and personalised her approach is. She takes the time to listen, explains things clearly, adapts treatments as needed, and consistently follows up to make sure progress is on track. I’ve always felt supported and confident in the care I’m receiving. She’s an excellent physio, the practice is great with lots of facilities and equipment. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for high-quality, professional, and genuinely thoughtful care.

I underwent a circumcision procedure after being diagnosed with a medical condition. Mr Nigam and his secretary Jessica were brilliant from the very first email response right the way through to my final review. All my questions were answered promptly and the whole process was managed in a really efficient, dignified and professional manner. My initial consult was arranged within 48 hours of my first enquiry email, and after informing the team that managing this was time sensitive, my treatment was booked within 10 days. I was really well prepared for what to expect and the post-op phase, and truly found that there was little/no discomfort. I'd 100% recommend Mr Nigam and Jessica for anyone in need of his expertise!

I attended a consultation today and was seen extremely quickly, which I was very grateful for. This was largely due to Lisa, the secretary, who recognised the extreme pain I was in and responded with real compassion, kindness, and a can-do attitude. Her understanding and efficiency made it possible for me to be seen so promptly. The consultation with Ms El Kafsi was excellent. She took the time to explain the medical procedure thoroughly and clearly, and I never felt rushed. She was reassuring, professional, and made sure I fully understood everything and had the opportunity to ask questions. Overall, my experience was extremely positive and I felt very well cared for from start to finish.

I came in today for surgery feeling incredibly nervous after a bad experience on the NHS previously, all I can say is I am so impressed with how different the process has been with the team today. Everyone from reception to the nurses to the anesthesiologist and of course Mr Banwell were genuinely fantastic and I can’t thank them enough. No question or ask was too much, I truly felt genuine care and warmth from all the staff. They checked on me regularly, reassured me constantly. My pain has been managed incredibly well and Mr Banwell’s precision has most definitely aided this too. I can’t be more grateful for everyone that cared for me today, Thank you all so much.

The staff at KIMS Hospital are truly amazing and incredibly friendly. Their professionalism and genuine compassion were unmatched by any experience I’ve had in NHS care. I felt supported, reassured, and well looked after from start to finish. Several people stood out during my stay: Amy in recovery, David, who prepared me for the epidural, Becky, my physio, and Mark, who handled my medication. My two nurses who cared for me around the clock were also outstanding — attentive, kind, and consistently reassuring. I honestly can’t fault any part of the care I received. I went at 11 weeks for a scan and for a NIPT test. The booking process was excellent, the members on the phone were so helpful and considerate. My appointment with Dr Desi was on time and extremely thorough. She was so compassionate, caring and kind throughout the appointment, explaining everything each step of the way and being extremely thorough through the scan and explaining our NIPT options. It’s the best consulting experience I’ve had throughout my pregnancy. Reception staff were extremely helpful too. I would really recommend LPC to any expecting couples. Attentive and thorough care received. Pitt that Benenden policy prevents sharing of imaging results so that another professional caring for patient can compare notes. Resulted in 1 month delay with MEI brain which required further investigation by CT when ENT specialist went on leave for a month and sane with CT abdo as follow up appointment planned alnost a month after test and had to be under care of another specialist abroad. The Secretary catehorically refused to send report citing Policy. Not the Doctor's fault but when Drs cantl't follow up for a month, reports should be shared.
