Overall, Spire Elland was great and I would happily return should I require any further procedures in the future. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and everything is very clean. I think the main thing letting the hospital down is patient communication. All appointments and comms are recorded and delivered via an app. If you don't want to or aren't able to download the app (like me), you do end up being left a little in the dark about things. For example, I had been given a surgery date fairly soon after my initial consultation, which was great, however I hadn't been informed that there would be multiple pre-operative assessment appointments to attend - all of which were on-site at Spire Elland, which is around an hour's drive for us. On one occasion, I had to make last-minute arrangements to move clients around as I'd been unaware of an upcoming appointment - I'd received no email, no text, no phone call, no letter. I just so happened to log in to my online portal and find the appointment date there. I moved clients around so I could attend, and just a couple of days before my appointment received a text message to say the date had changed, with no explanation provided. I called to try and find out why this might be, but was met with a dismissive reply of, "We just had to move it". All of the documents outlining the process for my surgery and the prep I should do beforehand were provided online, and the online portal isn't the simplest to navigate, so accessing them wasn't as easy as it could have been. When I was admitted for my day surgery, the staff were very welcoming and friendly, although I did find that I received a blunt reply whenever I asked a question about anything. This was my first ever surgery and my first time being put under general anaesthetic, so naturally I was quite nervous. Some of the members of staff were very helpful and supportive, but others seemed to have little patience, which wasn't ideal and only served to make me more anxious. When I came to after the surgery, I had been expecting to have a bit of a handover with someone so I could at least find out how it had gone and what they had/hadn't found. Unfortunately, Mr Gan was occupied in another surgery, and so I was discharged before having the chance to speak to him. I asked the nurses for some clarification - any brief notes or insights they might be able to give to put my mind at ease a bit until I could speak with Mr Gan - but this was met with quite curt replies. I was told no one could read Mr Gan's handwriting so no one could tell me any information, which at the time was quite frustrating as I'd been dealing with the pain for so long and had viewed the laparoscopy as the light at the end of the tunnel. It was disheartening to leave the hospital without any real clarification of the issue. Now having had my final follow-up with Mr Gan, I can say with confidence that all of my questions have been answered, and I feel validated and supported as a patient. However, I can't help but feel that had the communication from the hospital team been a little better throughout the process, it wouldn't have been so frustrating to wake up after the surgery and find that no one could tell me how it had gone.

But Ranjana made me feel safe and comfortable from the first day. She explained everything to me clearly, offered me a safe space to feel emotional, explained to me about what was going on in my body and allowed me to not only come to terms with what was happening but also get through it. Every niggle, worry and symptom was treated with care. knowledge and I got through it! There are not enough words for me to express what a fantastic doctor she is and how in a scary situation I felt like I could trust her completely. I will forever be grateful that she is on my team.

The surgery itself went very smoothly with an epidural and sedation and post-op the care was thorough and well co-ordinated. I'd been forewarned that it was a painful operation but still I needed to experience this first hand. With the kind support of family and friends (they formed a 'I Love my New Knee' Whatsapp group to liaise with one another) my good recovery has taken me by surprise. The hospital was totally 'there' for me with any enquiries. I'm so grateful to have had this opportunity for such prompt 'no fuss' surgical care with a fabulous hospital experience. Thank you.

Mr Dattani has been excellent at every level. I had a shoulder replacement performed by him in London, and the result has been excellent. From the initial consultation through to surgery and follow-up, everything was clearly explained and handled with care and professionalism. The operation went smoothly, pain was well controlled, and my recovery has been better than I expected. My shoulder movement and function are already significantly improved. I would highly recommend Mr Dattani to anyone in London needing shoulder replacement or specialist shoulder surgery.

Everything went incredibly smoothly. As I had had a colonoscopy before I roughly knew what to expect, so there were no surprises. But what I particularly value is that Mr Ferguson, apart from being a thoroughly nice person, has an air of confidence which is reassuring. Not overconfidence like some Consultants, which can be irritating, or intimidating. One feels that one can ask him anything and you'll receive a considered, informed response. Very lucky to be in his care.

I came for some pain on my neck and right leg and he is been very kind and patient, explained me always everything he was doing and in a couple of sessions i started feeling better by session 3 all the pain was gone! Overall experience was excellent. From initial consultation, he listened carefully, was engaged and asked questions. His communication skills were excellent. He diagnosed and gave treatment options (including doing nothing) in a clear, easy to understand manner. This was repeated in a hard copy summary of the appointment. Day of surgery, he visited pre and post operative and again was fully engaged and communicated in a clear and professional manner.

I would recommend Mr Malek to anyone considering hip replacement surgery. He is very friendly, approachable and reassuring. I have a small scar ( about 6”) which is very neat and a lot less than other people I know who have had the same operation. I was advised to prepare (exercise) and follow up well (exercises) which I did and I think this helped my recovery. I hope I don’t need surgery again but if I did I would go back to Mr Malek.

Diverse Minds Clinic provided me with an excellent experience. Dr. Cappai, the consultant, has extensive experience and has diagnosed me with ASD and ADHD. It was a challenging and time-consuming assessment, but Dr. Cappai and the team at Diverse Minds Clinic were quite helpful in completing out the documents. The rooms are comfortable and the location is very nice. I cannot recommend enough!!!!

On arrival we were greeted by a lovely nurse and put at ease. She took Jessicia's weight and height and seated us in the waiting area. Dr Majeed Jawad was lovely as ever with Jessica. He is very caring and has a brilliant bedside manner. He is very professional and thorough and listens to our concerns/questions too. Many thanks again to all the staff at Paediatric Diagnostics.

The experience was very good. However it would be very helpful if X-Ray, MRIs, were confirmed with a text., including date and time of appointment. Also Outpatient reminders do not include the actual time of the appointment and with whom which again would be extremely helpful and may well reduce number of missed appointments.
