The whole Newmedica process is very impressive. If you find visits to your local hospital depressing, with a thousand corridors and lost souls wandering aimlessly; with long wait times, crumbling buildings and crowded car parks, then you are in for a very pleasant surprise. The staff are incredibly friendly and the procedure is streamlined and well thought through. And the premises are in excellent order with impressive hygiene standards. Everything is immaculately clean. Operationally, whether attending as a private patient or on the NHS, you will receive excellent care. Having never experienced a private/public enterprise before, I have to say I’m impressed. My recommendation? If advised by your doctor or optician that you need eye surgery, then ask to be referred to Newmedica. I realise this revue reads like a publicity handout, but they are GOOD. I had cataract operations on both eyes, which went extremely well. Meanwhile - for a close relative and for different reasons - I have to visit our local hospital on a fairly regular basis. The endless waits, the shuffling of humanity lost in endless corridors, the general poor maintenance of hospital infrastructure… it’s never an uplifting experience. It’s true that you will find good and dedicated staff wherever you go, but some have to perform in adversity, while others don’t. Newmedica is a world apart. Take your pick.

I recently visited 55 Moorgate, Cleveland Clinic London, and had the privilege of being seen by Dr. Maniyar, who is truly an exceptional neurologist. From start to finish, my experience was outstanding. Dr. Maniyar's expertise, professionalism, and compassionate approach made me feel completely at ease and confident in the care I received. He took the time to listen attentively, explain everything clearly, and ensure I felt supported throughout the consultation. The entire team at Cleveland Clinic London, from the front-of-house staff to the clinical team, were equally impressive. Everyone was welcoming, efficient, and highly professional, creating a seamless and stress-free experience. I came to see Mr Laniado as a 65 year old with a history of regular urine infections leading to complete retention. My prostate was very enlarged. I was getting up to urinate every night 5 or 6 times. I had a weak urine flow, with a regular troublesome urgent need to pee in the daytime. Mr Laniado was kind and informative. We discussed the options and agreed on HoLEP. I preferred an epidural to a general anaesthetic which was appropriate for me. The whole procedure was pain free and completed very professionally. I was informed of what post operative issues were common. These were fairly minor and cleared up quickly. Thanks to Mr Laniado’s skills, 2 months on I get up only once a night and have no urgent immediate need to pee in the daytime. My urine flow is now like it was 40 years ago. I have had no urinary incontinence, and suffered no change to sexual function. I cannot thank him enough as this has been genuinely life changing for me.

I had a great experience with Dr Patel, he really listened to me and made me feel comfortable. He recommended I get follow-up tests. There were some admin issues with this from the supporting staff - the tests had to be at a certain time of day and certain week which was explained on the after visit summary sheet from Dr Patel. However, the blood test was booked in immediately by the reception staff which lead to lots of confusion, and the scan was booked in for the following Monday but I had a call on the morning to say it was booked in with the wrong person and needs to be rearranged. I'm sure this is not representative of the clinic overall, but as my first experience of this clinic, it makes it seem a little chaotic.

My recent appointment was to talk about trying testosterone as part of my HRT regime. Dr Ahlund took the time to explain everything I needed to know and answered all my questions. Dr Ahlund is very easy to talk to and has a very calm and supportive approach. She is very understanding and always makes me feel at ease. I wasn't getting the support and HRT medication I needed from my GP practice so turned to the Norfolk Menopause clinic for additional help. Thanks to the help of Dr Ahlund I am now on HRT and back to feeling much more like my old self. Having the time to talk to someone so knowledgeable is so important at this stage of life and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend both the clinic and Dr Ahlund.

I went for a CT colonoscopy scan. The scan itself and people were amazing. I cannot commend them more. I am thankful for all the professionals who conducted this. HOWEVER, I was appalled by the imaging reception staff who were rude and quite frankly nasty to me. I have never been screamed at by staff to sit down when waiting to ask about my appointment. The woman’s name was Edgy and she was with an older guy with glasses. They evidently were having a bad day and as the reception was a mix of NHS and private patients they felt entitled to talk to everyone in a demeaning manor. I felt insulted and hurt when already nervous about the procedure I was having. They need to learn to be kind to sick people.

The support received from all medical staff within DR Bhattacharyya’s team was reassuring and allowed me to focus on my recovery which made the whole experience as easy and straightforward as possible.

Following an informative appointment with Dr.Georgina Williams I opted to have an upper Blepharoplasty. The procedure went surprisingly quickly, I was comfortable throughout. My recovery was uneventful with excellent after care and after a day or two I was able to resume my normal daily activities. I’m delighted with the result, my face is transformed, I look brighter and refreshed, my confidence is boosted. Dr.William’s expertise and experience is very reassuring and I always felt at ease. I’m new to the practice, having previously been with a Bupa dentist, so the experience felt quite different. My recent visit was to see the hygienist, and while the appointment went smoothly overall, I did feel that it was quite brief and didn’t focus as much on the deeper, more thorough cleaning I’m used to. Additionally, I usually receive tailored advice during my visits, but this time there wasn’t much guidance offered. Perhaps it wasn’t necessary, but overall, it felt as though the hygienist wasn’t as thorough as I would have expected.

The hospital staff were all very friendly and helpful from receptionists, porters, catering and nursing to pysios and surgeons. I felt well looked after. The hospital is spotless and comfortable. I was invited to a patient feedback meeting which was interesting and we were told about several aspects of the hospital. It was good to meet other patients who had also had very good experiences there.
