Dr Sunday Ajayi

Dr Sunday Ajayi is an experienced Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with a special interest in hysteroscopy, acute gynaecology, early pregnancy scanning, and laparoscopic surgery. He also has a strong commitment to intrapartum care and the management of high-risk obstetrics, ensuring safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care for all patients.

Currently practising at the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust, Dr Ajayi brings over 15 years of experience in women’s health, including nearly a decade as a consultant at the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, where he also served as Foundation Programme Director (FY1) and Honorary Lecturer at Lancaster University.

Dr Ajayi completed his MBBS at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, followed by specialist training in the UK through the Northwest Deanery, gaining his MRCOG from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. To further his passion for medical education, he achieved a Postgraduate Diploma and PGCert in Medical Education from Lancaster University and Edge Hill University, respectively.

A dedicated clinician and educator, Dr Ajayi integrates medical education and simulation training into his work, mentoring future doctors while continuously improving clinical standards.
