A bad first impression: I arrived as requested at 7:30 to find no staff in Reception and the whole area in darkness! After about 10 , mins a nurse arrived to take us through to the ward. I had been told by the nurse on the phone doing the pre-op check that I was first on the list. However on the day I was told I was 6th, but suspect there were more than 5 people in front of me, as I was not taken downstairs for the procedure until 1about 11:30.. The problem for me was that I was very nervous and the unexpected delay made me very anxious. During my time in Room 19 the male nurse (?) looking after me did an excellent job, trying to reassure me as well as doing all the necessary preparation. Once I got to the operating theatre everyone was pleasant, efficient and friendly, The sedation was effective and the experience much less unpleasant that the retinal tear repair I had had at Moorfields about 10 years ago. I am now in a much better state to face the procedure on the 2nd eve in a few days time.

Dr Laura takes her time to explain everything to me, and she even manages to teach me some medical stuff considering I am a medical student! She is always keen to involve my family and ensure I am fully supported. She has helped me navigate several gynaecology conditions that I have recently been investigated for and diagnosed with. She continues to follow up with me and ensure I am well looked after. She looks at me from head to toe and listens to each of my concerns, no matter what they are, with compassion. She is a true angel who I was blessed with to have as my doctor. I will always sing her praises she is truly phenomenal. I am beyond lucky to have her looking after me. She is my inspiration for when I graduate and become a doctor.

Tucked away, the clinic had a bright and airy interior. A warm welcome greeted me at the door and I was swiftly directed to reception. Unlike some medical waiting areas it felt comfortable and homely. I noted they had security was at the entrance, which was reassuring. A cheerful receptionist checked me in efficiently. The waiting area was pleasant, offering a variety of hot drinks including still and sparkling water, biscuits and snacks. I asked for a taxi on leaving and the lady at reception explained they didn’t have a direct telephone number, but would get a colleague to wave one down for me. Very thoughtful.

I’ve had a fantastic experience with Dr. Lechner, with really considered appointments and recommendations. I was given plenty of advice of managing rhinitis, with the ultimate recommendation of surgery. I managed the symptoms with medications but ultimately took the advice of surgery. Again Matt gave me lots of considered time and advice, and the surgery has been a real success. Unfortunately, the registration form I had completed online for the consultation seemed to have gone missing. The form that was presented had an address from over 30 years ago!! Not a good start, but thereafter things went smoothly. However, when an invoice recently arrived for a previous stress test and blood test, no account had been taken of the fact that I paid for the stress test on the day I took the test. Overall, there have been some administrative failings.

Dr Blackmore was amazing. Truly made me feel so at ease. Constantly asked how I was and If I'm comfortable. Just made such an anxious experience as painless as can be. She really is such a lovely, calm presence and really made me feel comfortable. She asked me questions and spoke to distract me. She also explained exactly what she was doing and when I would feel pain etc.. really walked me through the procedure. Really happy that I had Dr Blackmore as my doctor.

Mr Avis was so thorough with the investigation- upon separation of the shoulder issue from my wrist /hand issue he was proactive to arrange the intervention with cortisone injections on the day of my consultation which was transformative given my work schedule the following 2 weeks - I could not be more grateful. He has been incredibly pragmatic and empowering to give me all the options with risks clearly outlined to make an informed choice. He is brilliant.

I hope never to visit a hospital again, but if I do need treatment, the London Independent Hospital is at the top of my list.

The receptionists were incredibly kind getting me a drink when I walked in. I have been feeling very poorly and it was a relief to book in on the same day and be seen. The doctor was so thorough in my consultation. 20 minutes is a good amount of time to have a proper discussion. Antibiotics were needed - the dr sent me a code to give to the chemist to get my prescription. All very easy and straightforward.

However, Dr. Karim was far more thorough in his examination and prescribed me a new type of medication with a clear outline of what they're for, how to take them, and any possible side effects.
