Admin efficiency Things didn't get off to a great start when there seemed to be an issue regarding what my insurance would cover, even though I had received two confirmations from the insurer over the phone and one confirmation by email. I felt a bit like a criminal and that I was lying about the treatment being covered. In the end, the insurer had to phone Practice Plus direct to sort it out, because no-one would believe that I was telling the truth. I've never come across this problem before at the Spire or the Nuffield. Usually the admin trail works very smoothly. Cleanliness The carpet in the waiting area is dirty and is covered in tea/coffee stains. There were pubic hairs on the toilet seat in one of the toilets by the waiting area. Not great at all. Waiting Time I am a private patient and I usually use the Spire in Bristol or the Nuffield, which run to time. My appointment for an injection was 30minutes late. Unacceptable. Staff To be fair, some of the staff are lovely. But some of the staff are downright rude. When I went to speak to one of the receptionists after waiting for my appointment for over 20minutes, I simply asked to check that I was on the system. The answer "yes". Oh I said, it's just that I haven't been called yet. Is there a delay? The answer "yes" - and a roll of the eyes to say "yes and your problem with that is??" I have to have another appointment at some point, so let's hope that my next experience is better.

I was operated on by Mez and her team on the 16th of September 2025. I can honestly say that the whole experience has changed my life for the better. You asked about 'bedside manner', I can only say that this made all the difference to what, of course, is a stressful and anxiety-driven moment. Maz called me the Sunday before the operation and introduced herself. I knew instantly that I was going to be in good hands. She listened with intent, she asked the right questions, and quickly understood my predicament. She did not overpromise, she didn't assume or discourage, instead she advised and reassured. The circumstance, I hope, is an unusual one (although, sadly, I think that I might be incorrect). I am a 55-year-old woman who has had gynae complications since I was 20 years of age. Only recently being diagnosed with adeimiosis, I have been in chronic pain for years. Mez instantly understood this challenging journey and empathised with my story. I cannot thank her enough. We decided to visit them after reading their positive reviews and wanted to give it a try. After reviewing my test results, they recommended a three-month course of treatment. The instructions and cooking process were clear and easy to follow. After completing the three months of treatment, I went for another test and was delighted to learn that my FSH levels had gone down, which felt unbelievable and made us extremely happy. That said, I would have liked to learn more about my TCM diagnosis and what it meant, as this was not really explained to me. This was a bit disappointing, as I was genuinely interested—especially considering the cost of the consultations. Communication and transparency could have been better in this regard. However, Professor Au did call us to reassure us whenever he felt it was needed, which we appreciated. I would recommend them to anyone who is struggling with fertility and looking for support.

I have had two treatments so far and I am very impressed with the level of service and how professional all of the team are. They pay attention to detail and ensure your experience with them is outstanding. The treatment rooms are clean, modern and impressive. The treatments they offer are leading edge and deliver results. After two sessions, I am already seeing results. They have a large waiting room and a good size car park. They have thought of everything to make your visit as easy and welcoming as possible. My surgery took place there and had to stay overnight due to vertigo and dizziness. The hospital was friendly, new and pristine. The nursing staff outstanding as well as of course the medical team. I had dinner and breakfast and it was also healthy and delicious. Yesterday I returned to have the dressing removed and it was equally good. If any criticism would be to the pharmacy with a 30minute wait to get my prescription and also despite being a Bupa hospital not having the availity to charge Bupa for medication- I am under Bupa Global and in other Bupa hospitals this is the case.

Howard is extremely articulate as well as friendly with an excellent “bedside manner”. He is very thorough in obtaining a full history that could potentially impact any diagnosis. The explanation of prognosis and any further action is extremely clear and easy to understand. He and his team are very efficient and obviously care greatly for their patients. My personal issue was a spot on my lung, which following a CT scan is likely benign, but will now be monitored going forward. The whole process was very reassuring for me.

I think the Doctors Lounge is such a great personal investment. You are able to see a doctor quickly, they have all your notes in front of them and have excellent referal doctors should you need further support. I cannot recomend Dr. Nik Chopra and his team more highly. It also means you take pressure off your local GP who can then spend their time with patients who need to use the NHS service. Think outstanding service and value for money.

Professor Griffin pointed out potential problems with my hip replacement on my last visit and recommended a spect scan. The scan revealed that there was no loosening of my replacement hip and we agreed that no intervention is necessary, at least for the time being. Everything was well explained and my questions were answered in a way I could understand. A perfect experience for me as a patient.

Apprehensive about a possible root canal - antibiotics first but they indicated I did need a root canal. Excellent treatment - didn’t feel the anaesthetic or any pain regardless of all that was ‘going on’ in my mouth. Dentist and dental nurse were very kind throughout the hours treatment re relaxing jaw. Returning for stage two but not apprehensive about it. Highly recommend.
