Everyone was at all times friendly and quietly efficient. I was assessed via up to five impressive machines on the working day following my initial approach to the clinic. I had to approach the Clinic following the retirement of the consultant whom I had originally engaged, and who had agreed with my optician that I was ready for surgery. The initial examination at the Clinic was most impressive, and when Mr Chan met me shortly thereafter he was clearly able to make a quick assessment. He explained to me that the operation would be challenging, given the damaged condition of my eye, but he agreed with my decision to ask him to proceed. The pamphlets provided enabled me to have a good understanding of the nature of a cataract and the usual course of treatment before and after the operation. On the day of the procedure I approached without misgivings, and following a full discussion with a senior nurse who sought fuller details of my medical history, and then the application of anaesthetics by the anaesthetist, I proceeded to the operating theatre. It was good and very reassuring to be able to feel the area round my eye go numb in advance of entering the theatre. The operation was for me comfortable, and I enjoyed the soft verbal exchanges between Mr Chan and his staff, and the gentle and futuristic sounds of the surgical equipment. Afterwards, I have felt no discomfort from the after effects, and the post operation advice from another nurse has been very clear and helpful. And I am delighted with the outcome. After having been in effect virtually blind in my right eye, my vision is now clear, bright and colourful. Very much better that these current aspects of by “good” left eye! Well done everyone! Bilateral cataract surgery – an excellent experience from start to finish. The improvement in my vision has been remarkable—not only is everything much clearer, but my previous short-sightedness and astigmatism have also been fully corrected. Night driving, which was previously very difficult and something I had to restrict significantly, is now effortless. My distance and intermediate vision are pin-sharp. From the outset, Mr Gudsoorkar explained clearly that my eyes were not suitable for lenses providing reading vision, and that I would still require reading glasses. He reassured me that inexpensive off-the-shelf reading glasses would be perfectly adequate, which has saved me over £400 a year compared to my previous prescription glasses. I’m extremely pleased with both the outcome and the care I received throughout.

I had a dental hygienist appointment. When it came to booking a further six monthly appointment I was asked to pay £35 in advance! This would be deducted from my bill in six months time. I declined to do this and cancelled my next appointment. I presume that at the next appointment I'd be asked yet again to pay £35 in advance, which basically means that this is just a way of charging a one off payment over and above the actual cost! I have never been asked to pay in advance for any private care, dental or otherwise. I think this is very sharp practice. By all means have a cancellation policy and charge the customer for not attending, but don't just take £35 well in advance! I may have to change my dental practice if this continues.

Honestly, it was an amazing experience from start to finish. Everyone I spoke to was incredibly friendly and efficient, and the attention to detail really stood out. The clinic is thoughtfully designed to appeal to all ages — my 8-year-old was quite apprehensive beforehand but ran straight in as soon as she spotted the Rubik’s cubes. The doctor was warm and approachable, and I was genuinely surprised to receive his report within just a few hours of the appointment. I’ve been to private clinics before, but nothing has compared to this level of care. Even being asked for feedback shows how much thought and consideration goes into Kidswell Health.

Overall the experience was excellent, with one frustrating aspect - initially I was told that my surgery would be at 15:00, and that I should attend the hospital at 13:00. A couple of days before the surgery, I was told that the surgery time had changed to 14:15 and I should attend at 12:15. I did so, and was then kept waiting for over an hour in the lobby as the room was not ready - giving the impression that it was unnecessary for us to have come early. A little frustrating, however the staff were incredibly friendly and kind.

Different time slots and sessions or more flexibility. Clearer communication between services and funders. Digital timetable, links and resources could benefit from being clearer/more easy to find. Mixed bag of staff, although the weaker ones did go quite quickly it still felt as though I was a bit of a guinea pig and didn't get as much from those sessions. Core team very caring, compassionate and supportive. Environment is an downside, a shared office building is not the best setting.
