I waited over an hour to be seen for my pre admission appointment. After being admitted and been shown to my room I was left for 5 hours in a cold room without anyone checking on me or giving me information about when my operation would be. Staff only turned up when I called and was then able to get some water as I was then advised that my operation was being delayed for a few hours. Short staffed. Slow to respond to buzzer calls. Staff always seemed to be busy doing something else other than looking after patients. Quite noisy ward during the day with people’s loud voices/laughing. Outdated facilities, no overhead bed light so had to have the main big room lights on all the time, which I could not control. I was moved to a different room after my operation as the first one did not have sufficient heating. The en-suite bathrooms are very outdated. Very short shower hose. In my second room there were 2 Rentokill boxes in shower. 50% of staff were friendly. I had major abdominal surgery. My night nurse was very compassionate and took very good care of me for 2 nights. I was discharged with the insufficient amount of painkillers to take home and without a physio assessment or much information about what symptoms to look out for and how to help recovery. I had to contact my own GP to get enough painkillers. Once discharged I had to walk with my husband all the way to the car at the pickup parking as there was no porter or wheelchair available. I had given 1h notice and then let her know again 10minutes before my husband arrived to collect me.

Mr Winston Kim

After enduring increasing pain in my left knee over a period of 15+ months with associated sleep deprivation I consulted Mr Winston Kim, who, after investigation, confirmed that the issue was more than likely with my badly arthritic left hip, which could impact the knee with resultant pain. I consequently had a full left hip replacement carried out by Mr Kim at the beginning of August. The pre and post operative process was very well organised and the surgery was undertaken extremely professionally. Mr Kim was very empathetic and understanding, explaining what would happen during and after surgery. He rang my family as soon as I was in recovery to reassure them that all had gone well. I was encouraged to stand up out of bed in the evening following surgery and was discharged with very little pain after only two nights in hospital. Five months after surgery, with support from the physiotherapy team, I am now able to walk without any mobility aids. I am extremely grateful to Mr Kim for resolving my issue and for his reassurance and guidance during post operative reviews. I would highly recommend Mr Kim and his team.

Mr Mazen Tahhan

I had a distance lens inserted on my right eye and Mr. Mazen Tahhan gave me his telephone number and said to call him if I had a problem. I am a keen insect photographer and noticed with the distance lens I could not see my camera screen clearly. I was very worried about the impact on my photography skills and ability to focus on very small insects. About 8 p.m. I sent him a text and he immediately called me. He listened to my worries and when I asked about non NHS lens he sent me a lot of information on these to consider. Next day he called back and after more discussion recommended I stay with an NHS close-up lens and get as much light as possible into the eye. I followed his advice and am very, very pleased with the result and now feel confident I can continue enjoy my rewarding interest in insects. I really appreciated how he understood my concerns and helped me to make the right decision.

My first visit was a very positive experience. The clinic was well presented, and I felt comfortable sitting in the waiting area prior to being called in. All staff members were polite, kind, and respectful during every interaction. When I entered the consultation room, I initially felt nervous; however, this quickly melted away as I was put at ease through warm and engaging conversation. I felt treated as a human being, not just a patient. The doctor ensured I was comfortable throughout the consultation and explained everything clearly and thoroughly. Main reception lovely and consultant was great. Imaging receptionist was blunt and frankly dismissive. Now paying invoice for consultation the original price was quoted on phone I found it’s £20 more which isn’t much but when you are self funding every £20 counts! When I complained I was directed to the fees as outlined on my original appointment letter which state it would not exceed £150 which it obviously doesn't but it wasn’t explained that the figure quoted on phone was only an estimate. Pricing should be communicated more clearly for those who don’t have insurance. So far, apart from consultant, a disappointment.

I have just had private cataract surgery at Newmedica Norwich, it was an exemplary experience, the staff were so welcoming and the surgeon, Mr Anas Injarie fully explained the procedure and delivered an amazing result. I no longer need contact lens, which I have been wearing for 50 years. Two months earlier Newmedica removed the cataract in my other eye under the NHS. That was a wonderful experience , going private for my remaining eye gave me the flexibility of appointment dates and a premium lens for the best possible vision. I now regret delaying the surgery, I now have two new eyes.

I cannot thank him enough for the support and help he has given me so far, as I have felt previously that I have not been listened too when discussing my condition. Professor Veer recognised this and has arranged for me to be seen again at Queens Hospital to see him, therefore not having to pay the fees at Harley Street, and continued with investigations into my condition. Professor Veer has also reimbursed my fee, which is so kind of him.

Throughout my experience Dr. Al-Kari unhurriedly took the time to discuss and explain the procedure of removing my gallbladder. Pre-operation I felt relaxed and confident of his ability. Immediately after the operation I appreciated his bedside conversation telling abut my individual procedure and the consultation which would be arranged for 2-3 weeks later. At every stage I have been entirely satisfied and would not hesitate in recommending him to others or returning to his care for any further surgery.

I researched Lazer eye surgery and asked specifically for Dr Ahmed Abdelmaksoud based upon his portfolio, knowledge and experience, luckily there was a last minute cancellation and I did get in with him. I feel like he has been excellent throughout the whole process he has explained everything with confidence and gave me confidence in the procedure and that it would be done to a high standard. The procedure itself he made me feel at ease and provided excellent aftercare. I would definitely recommend.

The procedure was so quick from the start to finish. Very pleasant staff. The good thing is I wasn't waiting too long so I was straight in & out within an hour & a half.
