Dr Chloe’s caring personality shone through from my first consultation at Kingston Hospital on the NHS in August. I had been diagnosed with invasive lobular cancer in my left breast after a routine mammogram in May. Quite a shock, to say the least! Dr Chloe proved to be not only caring but incredibly thorough & professional. She immediately scheduled an MRI as my lesion had not shown up on the ultrasound. In the whirlwind of appointments which followed I felt completely supported by Dr Chloe & her team, my wonderful MacMillan nurse Janeetta Thomas & nurse Catherine Ronayne.. Both Janeetta & Catherine provided a reassuring presence during my consultations & Janeetta was always available to answer my many questions. Thankfully no other cancers were found and I could proceed to surgery. A short time later a smiling Chloe, Janeetta & Catherine delivered the results, the very best news, that the surgery had been successful & the cancer had been removed with clear wide margins. Despite the lesion being situated deep within my chest, Dr Chloe took the extra care to ensure I wouldn’t have a scar on my chest. I can still wear low cut dresses. I have a small scar next to my nipple which is healing very well. My husband and I are eternally grateful to Dr Chloe & her team.

Mr Al-Obaidi explained things very clearly at both of my pre-operation visits. (Unfortunately I had an infection in my big toe nails the first time round so the operation needed to be postponed until said infection was completely gone) On the day of the operation I saw him twice - once in my room to go through everything again and then in the operating theater prior to me being put to sleep. When I had my first hip done I had a general anesthetic and then had low blood pressure when I came round after the operation. This time I had a spinal anesthetic and was put to sleep - blood pressure was ok, no swollen knee like last time and a much quicker recovery at home. So I am glad that this was offered and if I ever need an operation again I will definitely request it. For my six weekly appointment I had an x ray so that he could check that all was healing well. I first met Mr Petrine after being diagnosed with lung cancer. The meeting was to discuss the way forward and options available to me. The choices were surgery, chemotherapy and immunotherapy. From the beginning Mr Petrine was very honest with me and highlighted the pros and cons of each option due to pre existing health conditions. Surgery had certain risks involved, but Mr Petrini gave me the confidence to decide that I wanted surgery. Six days after meeting Mr Petrini I had the surgery and I am pleased to say due to his impeccable skills the operation was a great success. After surgery Mr Petrini contacted my wife with updates and she was also able to have direct contact with him if there was any concerns that may have arisen during my recovery. I have no hesitation to highly recommend Mr Petrini.

The reception was not particularly efficient. I’d paid for the consultation in advance but asked for payment. I did have to pay for blood tests & waited 25 minutes because the receptionist was unable to transfer the amount from the laptop to the card machine. The dryer in the first floor toilet was broken but no hand towels were provided to dry my hands. It was the same exactly a week earlier. I also received numerous text messages & emails most were repetitive & caused confusion as several arrived the same day. The saving grace was thankfully the clinical staff were friendly & efficient.

Richard is, without question, the kindest and most effective therapist I’ve ever worked with. His confidence, evidently based on deep knowledge, is paired with his good humour and informal approach to create an extremely comfortable and supportive therapeutic environment. He has, and continues to support me with both the practical, day-to-day steps in my recovery from anorexia, as well as the deep and meaningful work needed to make that recovery robust. For anyone struggling with an eating disorder, I can not recommend and endorse Richard highly enough.

Sam Wilde did an amazing job on my hip. I had a steroid injection and an extremely gloomy prognosis from the consultant with regard to osteoarthritis. Without Sam I would have gone into a deep depression! Sam talked me through a programme of rest post the steroid injection followed by a slow return to exercise with various adaptations. A year and a half later I am back to exercising 6 times a week with (so far) no issues other than the odd twinge from my hip. I am incredibly grateful and can't rate the treatment I got highly enough.

Dr Dulay is a truly excellent Rheumatologist. He was incredibly kind, supportive and clear, he really listened to what I had to say, answered my questions, and I didn’t feel rushed in any way. He is clearly very knowledgable in a wide range of ateas and I would recommend him without hesitation. For reference I visited regarding an hEDS diagnosis. Dr Dulay was a breath of fresh air - validating and helpful. The best experience I’ve had with a consultant.

The knee surgery involved straightening the leg and after years of pain and severe mobility issues she now has a strong straight leg. Mr Patel has been an amazing surgeon. Brit is an absolutely phenomenal physio. She is incredible intelligent and has such an amazing understanding of the body. She is always thorough to understand the deep cause of the problem and provides clear tangible plan for how to recover. She has recently been helping me with nerve damage in my glute /hip and seeing her has been invaluable. Would 10/10 recommend

The only negative aspect of my visits is that on my first appointment the radiographer who I was due to see had apparently not been informed that I had arrived. Consequently there was a wait of just over half an hour before I saw him.
