Considering i am a private patient very Dissapointed. 1. I was contacted after making the initial appointment asking where i had my MRI scans. I gave the lady all details only to be contacted again the next day stating they could'nt locate them. I then gave them more comprehensive details and was assured if any issues i would be contacted. I attended the practice for the consultation on 27/11/25 only to be told by Mr. Bacon we could not proceed as he did not have my scans. I proceeded to to ask for the pre med tests during which an anneasatist was very rude to me because unfortunatly i have a needle phobea. 2. Prior to the operation i rang to ask that during the operation day is there somewhere for my partner[ ie. in the ward room etc] and informed yes. She was informed on arrival at 6.30am with me that she was not allowed on the ward until 6pm . We had travelled 80miles to the hospital that day. If we had been informed prior too alternatve arrangements could have been made for her.

Mr John (Ian) Jenkins

I've been under Mr Jenkins' care for almost two years now. Based on my own experience, and my recovery from pretty serious, life-changing surgery, he's an excellent, skilled surgeon. Before I got anywhere near an operating theatre, I was reassured by his thoroughness, his clear and sensitive communication, and his patience with my questions and concerns. In his follow up to my surgery, he has been both optimistic and cautious at the right times, and ensured that no stone has been left unturned to ensure good outcomes. Lastly, he's surrounded himself with good people, from his practice to the theatre. You can be confident that if he is working with someone, or recommending a referral, then you'll be in equally good hands.

Dr Ahmad Khwanda

I am an 88 year old woman who, during her long life, has been under the care of many doctors and Dr. Khwanda is by far the most thorough and caring of them all. Once home after my cardioversion, he phoned me daily later telling me to phone him if I had any worries or concerns. I cannot fault him regarding his post procedure care and thoughtfulness. I consider myself extremely fortunate that, by chance, I chose Dr. Khwanda to be my cardiologist and in whom I have gained complete trust. He is very competent, professional, has the respect of his team, explains treatments and necessary medications in laymen’s terms and very importantly, treats his patients with the greatest care and concern. Professor Akolekar has been absolutely Fantastic at every appointment all the way throughout our pregnancy. I was really struggling with anxiety in this pregnancy following recurrent miscarriages, and I have never felt more looked after, which has really helped me to be able to enjoy this pregnancy, knowing we have a fantastic consult looking after our baby. Appointments are always on time and very detailed, time is always made to answer any questions fully and I always leave feeling confident and reassured. The communication with Natalia is always great to book and arrange appointments. This clinic really go above and beyond and o couldn’t recommend them highly enough!

I was a bit nervous on this surgery because of other people’s stories but my experience was so smooth! Everyone was lovely and explained it so clearly to me, the surgery was so quick and I’m barely in any discomfort, and more importantly during the surgery Mr Adeel made sure to watch my teeth (veneers) which was a lovely touch as working in that area both the surgeon and anaesthesiologist it’s very difficult I can imagine! But to still take the time to be careful around them which was another worry of mine so all round cannot fault the surgery or the entire experience. Thank you Mr Adeel and the team for looking after me so well!!

Paid privately for Hip Replacement, initial appointment was disappointing with an hour wait, and a non interested surgeon. A few blips along the way, upon arrival on surgery day, they had me down for a knee replacement not hip, staff on night shift not the friendliest, and thet x rayed the incorrect hip after the surgery. Day shift were great and surgery went well. I will say I expected more for paying privately however the main thing I've had my surgery instead of the ridiculous wait time on the nhs.

I had a two night inpatient stay recently after having fairly major surgery at The Woodthorpe Hospital. The individual and quality care I received from my Surgeon, Anaesthetist and Nursing staff made my experience a very positive one. The room was well equipped and the food was good, with every need catered for. Special thanks for making allowances and letting me stay until late in my room on day of discharge. I would definitely recommend this hospital for an overall positive experience.
