I was extremely happy with both the results and the level of care before and after surgery, which is why I returned to Dr. Jay for a tonsillectomy in December. Professor Plaha is an incredibly rare human being. Within 24 hours of my MRI scan being sent to him, he took responsibility for my care. The subsequent week, he met with me and guided me through my condition with a clear prognosis and a plan for treatment. He referred me onwards to other neurologists who were able to adapt my medication accordingly to ensure pre-operative stability. Along with his expert team, he operated to resect my tumour in a highly sensitive location with precision and success. He followed up after surgery with histology results and I have recently met with him at GenesisCare in Oxford, which promptly took place after my 3 month post operative MRI scan. In clinic, and as always - he exuded true warmth, humility, professionalism and integrity. He is a true specialist in his field and I am gracious to be under his care. Where anyone is looking for a true expert in his field in difficult and challenging circumstances, you must go no further.

My journey started with a random blood test where high calcium and parathyroid levels were found. After further testing I was diagnosed with Hyperparathyroidism. I then set out to find a surgeon to complete my parathyroidectomy. After an extensive search I found Shad Khan. My initial consultation went well and my surgery was scheduled at the New Foscote Hospital in Banbury. I would like to thank Mr Khan for his excellent care and skill, my recovery has been smooth, and I am very pleased with the outcome of my surgery. I found Mr Khan to be an exceptional surgeon with incredible skill and truly compassionate, and reassuring approach. Mr Khan's expertise truly made a difference to my life, and I feel incredibly lucky to have been in his care. Arrived fifteen minutes before the agreed appointment time as requested. Waited a further 20 minutes before being taken into the pre Investigation booth. Advised to remove certain clothing and jewellery which I did. Ifudbt catch what the nurse ? Assistant quite says as she spoke so quickly. A reversed to this a that. I waited in the booty a further 10 -15 minutes. I opened the door. No one around. I went back into reception as I didn’t know where I should be. Wondering whether I should have returned to the reception. An assistant checked my details. Then a further assistant arrived and took me back to the booth. Scan itself. Could not understand the therapist heard part but again so quick. But held in there. Need more clarity clearer instructions. Speak slowly.

This was largely due to Lisa, the secretary, who recognised the extreme pain I was in and responded with real compassion, kindness, and a can-do attitude. She took the time to explain the medical procedure thoroughly and clearly, and I never felt rushed. Booked an appointment and was seen 2 days later. Dr Chopra was very friendly, took a case history and examined my skin condition. He made suggestions as to the cheapest course of action, which he personally wouldn't have financially benefitted from, which showed real integrity as a doctor. I went ahead with a biopsy, which was quickly and skilfully performed, and dissolving sutures were deliberately used as to save me from needing a return visit, thus reducing costs and time. Dr Chopra clearly cares not only about his patients but also seeks to provide medical attention in the most cost effective manner for his patients.

My appointment with Dr Desi was on time and extremely thorough. I noticed the cleanliness of the office and waiting rooms. A very polite gentleman dealt with our car parking charge and wished us well - this was noted too. We were also kept informed of why the appointment was slightly late - this too was most appreciated since others in the waiting room were going ahead of us despite having later appointments. Simple things do make all the difference. Appointment itself was efficient as was the subsequent X-ray test downstairs. All in all - very pleased.
