I was a little concerned because my appointment was delayed due to a problem with the machine but everyone was so kind and comforting. My appointment could have been rearranged for another date but everything was done to ensure my operation went ahead that day. This I very much appreciated because I was really worried about having the procedure. I was very nervous but Dr Ho explained what he was doing and what to expect every step of the way and this helped me to relax. I felt everything before, during and after the operation was explained clearly and fully. Back at home I found all the booklets and other paperwork very easy to follow and so I knew what to expect and what to do. After I had bathed the eye the following day I could already see clearly. I first saw Mr. McKay over three years ago for a disc issue that was causing significant sciatic symptoms, at which time I received a spinal injection. More recently, I returned to see him regarding a (suspected) cervical neck issue as well as ongoing back pain. On every occasion, Mr. McKay has been extremely professional and has taken the time to explain everything very clearly and thoroughly. He makes complex issues easy to understand, which is incredibly reassuring when dealing with spinal problems. I’ve always felt listened to and never rushed. It’s rare to find a specialist you can genuinely trust, and Mr. McKay is certainly one of them. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone seeking expert and compassionate spinal care.

My experience of the hospital was very good. The staff were amazing especially Jayne on Day surgery and David at the ward at night. The only downside that came to my attention is being told that there was no lactose free milk for my tea. The lady, I did catch her name, told me that she wasn’t aware of my overnight stay. She asked me if I was aware that I was staying overnight and I replied ‘yes’. She then went on to ask if I had put it in my forms prior to attending and I said yes. She kept on going on it wasn’t her fault she had been told. A bit of advice would be that she overshared. She clearly sorted the problem as the following morning someone had picked up the milk and I had it with my tea.

Positive perks - the waiting room had adjustable height chairs meaning I didn't have to struggle getting in and out of chairs! Dr Chinoy didn't judge me, or make me feel rushed or that I was an inconvenience (something I have grown accustomed to from the nhs). Despite my symptoms not fitting in with his specialities he recommended a colleague who he feels confident would be able to meet my needs. Although private care is hard on my wallet as a self funder, the advice, treatment and service I received overall made it more than worthwhile.

Mr Omar Nawaytou

I received excellent care and reassurance from Mr Nawaytou, who successfully performed my valve sparing aortic root replacement surgery. He is very personable and clearly an exceptional surgeon and was highly spoken of by his colleagues throughout the hospital and further afield. I feel very fortunate to have had him perform my surgery. The care I received from all staff at Liverpool Heart and Chest was also exceptional. I'm recovering well and would not hesitate to recommend Mr Nawaytou and LHCH.

Mr Tahir Mahmud

Mr Mahmud reconstructed my son’s ACL in 2020 and made such a good job of it that he is now a ski instructor. When I injured my knee I knew just where to go  for my ACL reconstruction.  8 months later and I am doing really well with my legs stronger than before. Not only can we recommend him based on our surgical experiences but in the past I have actually worked in one of the clinical area where he operates and know how well respected he is by theatre and ward staff
