I was referred to Prof Vasdev via a friend of a friend who is: a prostate cancer patient, a practicing emergency Doctor and an ex-military doctor. When I first spoke with “###”, he talked me through his exhaustive research into who, is who, in the world of treatment of prostate cancer and the many specialists in a myriad of fields that he had interrogated. For him, there was only one option for the individual in which he was willing to place his trust and his future care, that man was “Prof Nik”, (a term of endearment I am sure I would never be so bold as to use!) On meeting Prof Vasdev, I was struck by how quickly he thinks, acts and assimilates information. On further conversations throughout my treatment, I have been amazed at how much he does, both locally and internationally across his surgical work, his research, his teaching and his sharing of best practice and in my case Neurosafe Robot Assisted Laparoscopic prostatectomy (RALP). The Neurosafe aspect is the gamechanger, this allows the team to assess at a cellular level the safe margins for the removal of diseased tissues live in surgery with samples taken and assessed in real time…AMAZING! I am now 11 weeks post-surgery and am recovering very well and have had my first post operative PSA test returning undetectable levels of PSA. Having been able to observe Prof Vasdev in his native environment at the NE Hertfordshire hospital in Stevenage he struck me as s a super-bright inspiring leader, held in great esteem by his colleagues and patients alike, capable of communicating the mission and the goal to his peers and his staff who offer him great respect in return and understand how and why to get to the best treatment and patient outcomes Besides his operative track record, his academic and research and teaching record leave no doubt to his expertise, energy and passion to improve medical science across many disciplines which culminate in him being an outstanding surgeon and an avid sharer of new procedures and techniques to give the best patient outcomes and I count myself as a very grateful individual amongst that number.

The environment, the warmth, and the standard of care are truly exceptional. Receptionist was absolutely lovely and really friendly and helpful. The building and facilities were all excellent and kept clean and tidy. The consultant I saw was extremely rude, arrogant and judgemental. There were several comments he made that shocked me and that made me feel very uncomfortable to the point I almost walked out mid appointment. There was very little sympathy or mindfulness of my injury and he came across extremely judgemental in the assumptions he made about the level of sport I played, what I could afford, and several other things. I actually play semi-professionally and have represented our country in World Championships in the sport I play, and I also have a law degree and accountancy qualification which I did not mention as quite frankly it is irrelevant. It was apparent he took a dislike to me for whatever reason from the start and the whole experience was very uncomfortable. His behaviour aside, he is clearly very knowledgeable and good at what he does. Reading between the lines I got the answer I needed. This hospital was recommended to me by one of your previous patients and I was lucky to get booked in through an NHS referral but after my experience I would never return for any issue and am relieved I didn't pay to go private.

I recently visited John Flynn Opticians for my 2-yearly eye exam. Dr Janjua is always incredibly thorough in the eye exam, explaining each step and answering all my questions with patience. He takes the time to discuss my prescription in detail and also the variety of lens options available such as anti-fatigue, blue light reduction and anti-glare. I work in the computing industry and having the right eyewear makes the difference between a good day and one where you’re severely tired at the end of it. Dr Janjua’s expertise and attention to detail makes sure you’re confident it will be a good day. Dr Janjua is also supported by an amazing team. Everybody is welcoming and professional, making the entire process seamless and comfortable. I only needed new lenses this time which will be fixed to my existing frames, but when new frames have been required they’ve helped me choose the perfect frames that not only suit my style, but also feel comfortable. What really stands out is the personalised care and attention I received. Dr Janjua and the team genuinely care about your eye health and it shows. I highly recommend Dr Janjua and the team to anyone in need of eye care.

After I left the hospital/ industry, I was eager to find an aesthetic nurse practitioner who could maintain her high standard of work. My research eventually led me to Giacinto. I'm particularly fussy & wanted a medically qualified & skillful aesthetic nurse with a keen, creative eye. I knew instantly Giacinto was exceptional. Truly Exceptional After experiencing pain from my new hospital contact lenses I was able to book an appointment with Drew far sooner than my Hospital would see me. Drew very quickly determined that ill-fitting lenses were causing Conjunctival Prolapse and advised how best to proceed. Essentially the lenses used by my Hospital were not appropriate for my eyes and, since the Hospital will not use alternative lenses, Drew was able to fit and supply better lenses. These new contact lenses give excellent vision and comfort, even though I have a particular eye condition which makes it very difficult to fit contacts, despite lenses being the only solution for me. Thank you Drew and Team!

Excellent experience from start to finish. My issue was a much-enlarged benign prostate which necessitated urination every 1.5-2 hours - or at least 3 times per night, which was tiresome(literally). He explained clearly the options and we opted for the minimally-invasive aquablation option (no laser, no cutting). Operation went very smoothly, 2 nights in hospital, recovery swift and infection -free. Good flow returned immediately, no discomfort, took c.7 weeks for significant reduction in need to urinate. Now able to go through night with just one visit (even managed 7 hours last week) which is pretty good for a 75-year-old. Highly recommended.
