I had a Colonoscopy procedure on the 29/09/2025, carried out by Dr Syed Shaukat and he’s nursing team. And I would just like to show my thanks and appreciation for what, Dr Syed Shaukat and he’s nursing team did for me. Before I arrived at Hinchingbrooke Hospital I was very apprehensive and worried about what to expect regarding the procedure. Even though having read all of the leaflets I was sent. I could not have been more wrong. Dr Shaukat’s nursing team were all brilliant straight way putting me at ease and making me feel very comfortable. I very much appreciate the time and attention all of Dr Shaukat nursing team took looking after me on that afternoon before and after the Colonoscopy procedure. All of the team were polite and considerate to me and it made the whole experience very much appreciated, they are a credit to Dr Shaukat and the NHS. And I would also like to thank Dr Shaukat for his skill and expertise in performing the Colonoscopy procedure, and removing a very large 30mm polyp which turned out to be benign. The staff and my surgical team were all extremely helpful in every way shape or form. They answered all of my questions and they particularly helped with me when it came to my anxiety after surgery. Postop my doctor listen to me and prescribe me the necessary medication for my post-operative care. They were particularly very attentive when it came to patient dignity. The only minor improvement I was I had to wait a little while to be seen once I was admitted and I needed a blood test pretty urgently prior to surgery so this slowed things down a little. The other thing was that I would make is maybe make the patient rooms a bit more less clinical looking I understand everything needs to be clean to avoid infections especially after surgery however making the rooms look a little more cozy and in some ways looks less daunting particularly people like myself that was the only minor improvement otherwise patient care was outstanding.

I had two day surgery appointments for cataract removal and lens implants, two weeks apart. The first appointment was very straightforward from walking through the door to post operative discharge. The second appointment was less straightforward: despite me being first on the day’s list there was a long wait before my pre-operative assessment. When I was being prepped before going into theatre, the atmosphere in the room was not calm and reassuring, unlike the first time. There was sometimes discomfort during the procedures of anaesthetic and application of the opthalmic speculum, the latter of which has left me with a markedly arched eyebrow on that side, which is only returning to normal after nearly two weeks. As a result I felt tense entering the theatre. Everyone in the theatre was calm and reassuring however, and I was quickly put at ease. I had a positive post operative experience before being allowed home.

From the minute I arrived for my operation I was looked after by friendly professional staff. I was desperate to have the operation to replace my hip as I had been suffering for months due to misdiagnosis by my GP. From seeing a consultant privately the waiting time was 5 weeks, which was amazing. I had a spinal block & was asleep throughout the operation. The post operative care was excellent & pain relief was discussed with me until I was happy with the medication prescribed. The support from the physio department enabled me to go home with confidence. For anyone who is suffering like I was, I can wholeheartedly recommend Barlborough Hospital.

The initial consultation was excellent, the day of the operation went as well as it possibly could with virtually no waiting time on the day of the operation. I was kept informed at all times of the timetable for the day. The after care on the day of surgery was excellent, I was extremely well looked after, the food was good (I was given biscuits and chocolate ice cream on request!!!) and all the staff were helpful, calm, attentive and extremely knowledgeable. I must mention Jan the nurse - he was on hand all the time and provided excellent assistance when required.

My experience was some what mixed your nursing staff were friendly and professional.my consultant Mr Hemanth Venkatesh was excellent! But unfortunately thats where it ends, your after care is nonexistent over a period of 2 days I made over 20 phone calls to practice plus, I was in excruciating pain ,and could not get any help .it turned out I had trapped the pudendal nerve in my buttock and after 30 hrs of pain and distress I finally got to speak to someone I give that a big 0 out of 10 ! Do not advertise a 24/7 help line because it does not exist !!

An excellent experience considering getting a tooth extraction . All of the staff were great . Efficient and caring and put me at ease . The extraction was tricky but confidently and expertly handled by Fiona and her assistant . I was provided with good instructions and medications for the aftercare and had no problems . I did have to wait longer than I wanted to get an appointment but it was holiday season and a specialist appointment . Well worth it and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.,

Visited Dr Nash for asthma symptoms. Open and informative dialogue and attentive manner of conversation. Clear information and advice given and prescribed inhaler has given positive results. Going above the expected 'try this inhaler' to include a chest X ray and allergy test was appreciated and gave additional insight to seasonal asthma. Also very good to be able to book appointments outside my working hours.

The whole experience from consult through ops to follow ups has been seamless and mostly painless. A little discomfort for 24 hours was all I experienced. The extra YAG laser treatment a year later has been successful. An excellent consultant and surgeon in my opinion.

The visit was good but the extra costs on top of a consultation I think is not made clear. I do not know how an ENT specialist is expected to check your ears, nose or throat without looking into them and so my feedback is just include that in the price initially to save the confusion. The specialist was friendly and helpful so no slight on them.
