There was a lot of waiting for drops to take effect as part of the treatment but the fact that everytime one of the staff passed they acknowledged you so you didn't feel you had been forgotten, a big plus in my book. There were many times when my DOB and name were checked. This made me feel secure as I think it made me feel that any mix up was very unlikely, another plus in my book. During the set up for the operation I was asked to look into the very bright light. Not a problem for the eye being operated on but keeping my other eye open as requested was difficult for me. Perhaps some form of shading for the other eye could be provided so that the natural instinct to close that eye could be eliminated and thus the natural effect of doing that affecting the eye being operated on. During the operation the surgeon needed to speak to me at times. I am hard of hearing and didn't have my hearing aids in. At times it was hard to hear the surgeon. The issue was worse when the "pump" noise was going. Some of this was the fact that she was a lady with a higher pitch voice, whereas I could easily hear the male voice in the room. I have the same issue hearing my wife for the same reason (I claim!). Perhaps it would be good if the surgeon established if there is a hearing problem and if there is, the voice volume could be raised. I realise that this is my problem but I cannot be unique in this case given the age profile of you patients. This visit was my second eye so I knew what was happening. However, thinking back to my first visit perhaps a slightly better introduction could be given to new patients as to what to expect with the intervals between patient staff interactions to help limit any anxiety they may feel. Also a bit more information regarding the after effects of the operation could help and anxiety at that time. I realise you will wince at this but I found a YouTube video of american origin that went through the after effects step by step and this relieved me as I realised what was happening to me was normal. Overall I was very pleased with the atitude of all the staff I met and the service they provided. Thank you very much.

Cleveland Clinic Portland Place Outpatient Centre

I had two appointments at 24 Portland Place. The first was for an US of my right foot at 11:40, the second one with Mr Losseff at 12:45. No problem with the first one but with it was with the second one. As I finished the US procedure around 12:05, I went to the 2nd floor to wait for Mr Losseff's appointment at 12:45. I asked the receptionist whether he was running late and she responded negatively. As time passed and it was getting near 13:00, I asked the receptionists whether he was running late. Negative answer again. I enquired again around 13:10 as I had to take a train back to Oxford at 14:10. Mr Losseff called me at 13:40 and he was concerned about me not appearing on the screen despite having registered on the main reception desk. As he did not see me on his screen, he saw another patient. He was extremely kind and concerned about timing. He is a kind, and caring person and excellent neurologist. As I complained to the receptionists on the second floor, the problem was with the initial registration on the main reception desk. This has never happened to me, my husband or my youngest daughter who are patients of Cleveland Clinic. It would be good if it does not happen again. Check when patients have more than one appointment please and that they this information is transmitted correctly to the corresponding floors' reception desks. Thank you.

However, Professor Deanfield operates at a different level. This was my first colonoscopy procedure so I didn’t know what to expect and was quite anxious. Looking at the patient reviews on this site beforehand really helped me so I wanted to add my own comments here as well. The 2 day preparation for my late afternoon procedure (fasting and drinking the cleansing medication) was actually the worst part, however I followed the instructions and kept myself very hydrated throughout, that along with a couple of boiled sweets in the last couple of hours to stop the hunger pangs really helped. The clinic staff were all really friendly and helpful from the moment I arrived and talked me through the process throughout so I knew what to expect. I had sedation for the procedure itself which was completely painless, and I got the results quickly. At all times my wellbeing was prioritised by the staff, with 1 to 1 nursing and a very welcome drink and biscuit afterwards. Special thanks from me to Roberta and Dr Khan, and my aftercare nurse whose name I forgot (sorry!)

The staff at KIMS Hospital are truly amazing and incredibly friendly. Their professionalism and genuine compassion were unmatched by any experience I’ve had in NHS care. I felt supported, reassured, and well looked after from start to finish. Several people stood out during my stay: Amy in recovery, David, who prepared me for the epidural, Becky, my physio, and Mark, who handled my medication. My two nurses who cared for me around the clock were also outstanding — attentive, kind, and consistently reassuring. I honestly can’t fault any part of the care I received. I had a very positive experience with Mr Langdon. During the initial consultation he explained my MRI to me thoroughly and even recorded a voice over which he sent to me. His manner was most appropriate, I felt validated and understood at all times, which really gave me confidence in his advice. I had a nerve root block, followed by surgery some months later. Mr Langdon visited me at least 3 times whilst I was an inpatient, which supported the overall feeling of genuine care. I'm now 4 weeks post-op and am very pleased with the results of surgery and aftercare. His PA Clare is also an excellent communicator and nothing is too much trouble.

Nuffield Health The Manor Hospital Oxford

The Manor Hospital appeared clean, pleasant environment and staff were friendly. There is however one major issue - Car Parking. I nearly missed my appointment despite arriving 35 minutes prior. The car park does not appear adequate for the volume of patients and staff. A vehicle had been parked and blocked the car park, presumably because they thought were going to miss their appointment. This was resolved by creating a one way system which finally allowed me to, by luck, get a space. As an improvement it might be good if when booking, the booker tells the patient of possible alternative car parks in the area that they might have to use?

Mr Thomas Hunter

On the initial consultation Mr Hunter explained everything in detail and gave me much confidence to proceed with robotic assisted total knee replacement. On the day of the procedure he met me before hand and again gave me much confidence and I had total trust in him. The Procedure has gone very well, and the wound has all but disappeared . Apart from some discomfort in the first 2 weeks I am not needing any pain relief anymore and the pain I had before hand has completely gone. Very pleased with the outcome and would definately recommend Mr Hunter .

I hadn’t seen Sharmina for around 12 months but she was brilliant as always.Before seeing her,she made sure detailed checks and scans were done on both my eyes.Following this she spent a lot of time looking at my eyes and in simple language telling me how things were..I was nervous at the beginning of my cataract lense replacement journey but Sharmina has,through per patience and skill,put me at ease.My journey is now over but I can’t thank Sharmina enough.If you are considering cataract surgery she is definitely the surgeon for you

Dr Nash had requested all my data from the Birmingham Hospitals and had read and fully understood the contents. He then asked me for many other details relevant to my condition and performed respiratory tests to make comparisons with my notes. He showed real interest in my concerns about my health. When I left the appointment I felt confident being in his care and had a plan arranged with him to proceed with the investigation of my lung condition.

I had an initial consultation with Lauren. She listened to my issues/symtoms I was experiencing with my current HRT that I had been prescribed by the nhs that I wasnt happy with. Lauren was extremely informative, professional and positive. We made a plan that started immediately. It was a weight of my shoulders that I’d been carrying for 5 years. My only regret is not booking in with Lauren sooner! I would highly recommend.
