I was referred from my local hospital to Mr Nicol, due to his speciality in young adult hips and my diagnosis of hip dysplasia. In my initial consultation, Mr Nicol spent a good duration of time, explaining my hip dysplasia and potential treatment options. With my scans not showing damage to my hip labrum, we discussed my symptoms and likelihood of me experiencing potential trauma to my hip. Mr Nicol appeared confident I was presenting with pain of labrum pathology, something nobody had mentioned before. I went ahead with a hip arthroscopy which did indeed reveal a labral tear and labral detachment with was repaired successfully. Immediately following surgery and in follow up appointments, I’ve been able to contact Mr Nicol with any questions regarding my recovery and felt very reassured. Occasionally, I had some confusion with my initial treatment, discussion of this post surgery etc. but I do consider this is to be because of the complexity of hip bio-mechanics and treatments etc. I would highly recommend Mr Nicol for young people experiencing ongoing hip pain and looking for a second opinion or initial support with treatment options.

Once Again Dr Chiraush Patel was outstandingly professional and kind. I was fortunate enough to get an appointment within an hour of calling. It cannot be overestimated how important it is to patients to have a well trained Doctor with exemplary bedside manner to help the patient to recovery. This is true of all the other GPs at One Stop, but I am lucky enough to see Dr Patel mostly. My standards are very high but Dr Patel exceeds them by miles every time I visit (I only visit sparingly). This is medicine at its very best and reminds me of when GPs were true family Dotors back before fundholding. I am fortunate indeed to have such excellent GPs. Thank you Dr Patel and OSD!

The surgery itself went very smoothly with an epidural and sedation and post-op the care was thorough and well co-ordinated. I'd been forewarned that it was a painful operation but still I needed to experience this first hand. With the kind support of family and friends (they formed a 'I Love my New Knee' Whatsapp group to liaise with one another) my good recovery has taken me by surprise. I met Dr Adamczyk for a review following a surgery late last year. There was a lot of endometrial tissue which had blocked my ureter and required additional support from the urology department. Dr Adamczyk has always been very thorough in explaining what has been done during the surgery and the plan going forward. I was also recommended exercises to strengthen my pelvic muscles. I am so glad for the last surgery and removal of the endometrial tissue as this has really enhanced my quality of life and I feel more like myself again.

I really like the Cromwell Hospital in Kensington London. It's clean modern well organised and I like the consultants. The nursing care is absolutely fabulous and the nurses overall are highly trained and experienced.
