I spoke first with Dr Haider’s junior colleague for history collection and basic neuro testing to attempt to diagnose symptoms I was experiencing. Dr Haider entered, introduced himself, and received a summary of my presentation and symptoms from his junior colleague. He then asked further questions, aiming to eliminate unlikely diagnoses, and to quickly determine the likely diagnosis. After explaining the reasoning for the likely diagnosis, based on symptoms shown and discussion with colleague, he explained next steps, with follow-up call and depending on symptom progression or response to treatment, may require imaging (MRI). Dr Haider (and his colleague) were both very professional, polite, engaging, and asked relevant questions to come to a likely diagnosis. Dr Haider explained unfamiliar medical terminology in an accessible and understandable way when asked. My thanks to Dr Haider and his colleague for their efforts.

The clinic itself is lovely, very comfortable, and the staff were extremely friendly and caring, so from that perspective it was a great experience. From a medical perspective, however, I was a little disappointed. The scan was only around half as long as my NHS scan, and I didn’t feel that noticeably more was assessed despite the more extensive checklist advertised on the website. The baby was also in a difficult position, but unlike at my NHS scan, where we actively tried to encourage the baby to move with exercises and walking up and down stairs, the position was simply accepted here. Overall, the experience was very pleasant, but medically I didn’t really see the added benefit of booking a private scan over the NHS one.

After suffering for months with painful gallstones l was referred to Mr Toe. My consultation appointment immediately put my mind at rest and Mr Toe explained the procedure. At all times communication was great and on the day of my day procedure l was looked after very well by all the staff at the Saxon Clinic. Mr Toe came to see me before my operation and checked on me in recovery and in my room later that evening. I felt in very safe hands which took away a lot of the stress and worry associated with an operation. Follow up was first class. I cannot thank Mr Toe enough for removing my gallbladder and making me feel so much better. Would highly recommend Mr Toe and the Saxon Clinic.

I saw Mr Shepherd on Friday afternoon and was offered a total hip replacement on the following Wednesday. The Nuffield nurses pulled out all the stops and pre ops were completed on the Friday to enable the op to go ahead. I was walking on the Wednesday evening and discharged on Thursday lunchtime. I had no pain, only took a paracetamol on Thursday night, just in case, but didn’t need it. What a difference my new hip joint has made! I can’t praise Mr Shepherd and his team enough. Compared to my previous NHS experience and 6 wasted years, I have my life back to enjoy.
