Before meeting Dr Abedin, I had already been advised elsewhere that I might need removal of the ovary and fallopian tube, possibly through a vertical open incision. It was an overwhelming prospect. Dr Abedin approached my case differently. She listened carefully, assessed everything thoroughly, and explained that preservation might still be possible. She did not minimise the complexity, the cyst was very large (20-25 cm), but she balanced realism with sound surgical judgement. The operation was completed laparoscopically and my ovary was preserved. I am deeply grateful, and my recovery has been smooth. The outcome reflects not only technical skill, but experience, restraint, and the confidence to choose the most appropriate approach rather than the most radical one. I am writing this not only in gratitude, but as reassurance to other women: seek a surgeon who listens, thinks independently, and prioritises preserving healthy tissue whenever it is safely possible. In my case, that made all the difference.

Easy to travel to. From the receptionist to the specialist ophthalmologist team to the Consultant are all very professional, very friendly and caring. The waiting time is very quick and the atmosphere is very calming. The hot drinks offered are plenty and a biscuit is a nice touch too!. The pre-op assessment, the consultation and the surgery to the aftercare was excellent and professional. Every step of the procedure is explained clearly. The staff all put the customer first. I had my surgery on Tuesday and all the nurses were amazing, they took care of me helped me prepare myself for the surgery and then the after care was also amazing. The nurses came in every 10 minutes to check if I was ok, if I needed any food or water, or simply help me to the toilet. They stayed right to the end until I left. Thank u so much to all the nurses that cared for me that day. The room was very clean. My doctor, Dr Kelvin Chong was the best, he listened to what I wanted, advised me for the best option for me. He made me feel comfortable which was what I felt I needed as the surgery was very personal and I needed to feel safe which Dr Chong made me feel. He stayed until I was fit enough to go home. My experience here at One Stop Healthcare was just perfect.

I never felt rushed or judged, and they took the time to explain things clearly so I actually understood what was going on rather than feeling labelled. Since the diagnosis, I’ve felt more clarity about myself and my wellbeing, and that alone has been hugely valuable.
