I had a fantastic experience from time of admission to the day surgery unit at Cov Walsgrave hospital in Coventry .I was made to feel comfortable in my surroundings by two of the sweetest nurses upon admission to the unit for a procedure on my right shoulder they put my mind at ease explaining all that I was about to have done the operating staff were brilliant as well everyone conducting the procedure kept me informed about every step of my procedure I could not fault them in any way at all .I confess that due to a horrific experience once before at the same unit for prostate cancer I was a very very worried man thinking I was going to be kept in this unit overnight and upon enquiring if this was to be the same as in staying overnight I was mightily relieved and when I explained about my last experience I have to say that the two nurses doing my pre op chat etc I explained my concerns and the reason why I was so apprehensive about my op they went over and above their job to enable me to finally be at peace with myself ref this new procedure. I cannot Thank them enough for all that they did for me nor can I Thank the surgeon and the two nurses in operating suite enough for all they did for me so again THANKYOU to all of you in day surgery unit yesterday 19/11/2025at 14:30 hrs.

I've seen the Joint Injection doctor twice, had two injections, and both were very helpful. The first visit was after I suffered some tissue injury to an arthritic knee and had some fluid removed and a cortisone injection, which gave me immediate relief and was the catalyst to me returning to exercise. I was having ongoing stiffness in the same joint and returned six months later. After consultation I chose to have a hyaluronic acid injection. This made a big difference to the pain, stiffness and function of my knee and has meant I am able now to properly rebuild strength on that side. Dr Thing is easy to talk to, and I felt he really supported what I am trying to do, which is to stay highly active and delay the point I will need surgery for as long as possible. He is very well informed and explained clearly the pros and cons of various approaches to managing arthritis of the knee. He is also skilled at what he does, the injections are ultrasound guided to ensure correct placement and both injections were painless.

Mr Chakri Munipalle

My experience with Mr Munipalle was excellent, as was my experience with the ward staff and the resus staff. Sadly though my experience with the anesthatist. The tall man with the tattoos was as lovely as the others but the shorter man made me feel like I didn’t matter. He was putting in the cannular, which he tried multiple times in my left hand without even a word spoken. That could be forgiven but when the cannular was sited in my right arm he administered the medication to put me under, without any warning and before the mask was put on my face. This was a really unpleasant experience that felt like my body was collapsing in on itself and of course I panicked, which made one of them to put the mask on me. This doctor operated In a completely different way to all other staff involved in my care. I feel strongly that this is communicated to Mr Munipalle as this man lets the rest of the team down. I have just attended a post op review with my consultant. From receptionist to radiographer ( review xray ) to consultant all staff were welcoming , friendly and empathetic. The time waiting to be seen was minimal and each staff member was efficient and ensured the visit was without issue and all concerns were addressed . Mr Islam, my consultant ,discussed In detail my postop xray and listened to my experience of recovery with interest and empathy - allowing me to tell him anything that had concerned me. My post op recovery status was assessed and encouragement given for further progress with a one year review planned . I left the appointment completely satisfied that I had treated by a person with the highest level of skill and professional attitude.

Initial assessments were thorough and the clinicians were kind and understanding. Prescription costs seem affordable and my first prescribed medications were a slight improvement to before. My second prescription was not approved/provided on time and rationing medications/running out for a few days has caused some stress I had bad withdrawal/negative wellbeing from being requested to stop a previous medication, I feel this was somewhat unavoidable but I was not informed of what to expect stopping that med and left to work out the cause of the feelings on my own

Mr Balaggan was a calming professional who took time to explain each step and give a sensible best and worst case scenario. He assured me that he would do his very best to close a "Very Large" macular hole I presented with. I underwent surgery within two weeks and the care and reassurance that both the operation and the aftercare afforded was simply, second to none. Mr Balaggans expertise has resulted in a successful closure of my macular hole and I have no hestiation in 100% recommending him to anyone requiring eye surgery. I am delighted with the results.

Dr Ali was very clear in her explanations about allergic rhinitis and the different treatments available, all of which I have taken over the years. I would like to have had explanations of results of tests in order to know more about what triggers my allergies Although Dr Ali did explain that probably I have non allergic rhinitis I'm still not sure if that is my case and I wonder if more allergy tests would give a more definite answer. Dr Ali did say she would be asking my GP to send results of the tests i had done at the surgery a few years ago.
