Dr Hisam Siddiqi

Dr Hisam Siddiqi is a Consultant Haematologist at Dartford & Gravesham NHS Trust, specialising in the diagnosis and management of a broad range of blood disorders, including anaemia, lymphadenopathy, bleeding and clotting disorders, leukaemia, lymphoma, and other benign and malignant haematological conditions. He is experienced in bone marrow biopsies, venesection, and the delivery of chemotherapy, providing comprehensive and patient-centred care.

He graduated in medicine in 2002, became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians in 2012, and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath) in 2022. His specialist training was undertaken at leading centres including the Beatson Cancer Centre, Glasgow Royal Infirmary, and Queen Elizabeth Hospital, before completing higher specialist training in Clinical Haematology at City Hospital Birmingham.

Dr Siddiqi began his consultant career in Birmingham, contributing to haemato-oncology services and managing complex cases across malignant and non-malignant haematology. Since 2024, he has held a substantive consultant post at Dartford & Gravesham NHS Trust.

Alongside his clinical practice, he is a passionate educator and communicator. He runs the popular Bread and Butter Haematology channel on X, which has generated more than 1.6 million interactions, and publishes an international Substack newsletter read in over 50 countries. He has taught at the University of Birmingham, delivered FRCPath examination courses, and lectures at the University of Wolverhampton. His research includes a COVID-19 severity scoring model published in the Journal of Clinical Medicine and pioneering work on the Bone Marrow Drill presented at the British Society of Haematology.

Dr Siddiqi sees private patients at London Bridge Hospital , HCA Canary Wharf , Blackheath Hospital  and LycaHealth Orpington. Outside medicine, he enjoys gastronomy, fermentation, and reading about Japan's Sengoku period.
