The Lindo Wing at St Mary's Hospital offers high quality levels of care for surgical, medical and maternity patients.
With over 60 years' experience in maternity, and generations of families returning, they are a trusted leader in obstetric care. St Mary's Hospital can provide both neonatal services and critical care facilities, making Imperial College Healthcare Private Care able to support all pregnancies and deliveries, no matter how complex.
As well as our world-renowned maternity services, the unit also offers a range of routine and complex surgeries including trauma, weight loss, vascular, gynaecology, urology, ear, nose and throat, and general surgery.
A private paediatric service is available at St Mary's Hospital for certain specialities, including our internationally recognised haematology service. We offer private outpatient facilities, dedicated operating theatres, modern, private en-suite and day case rooms.

I gave birth at the Lindo Wing through a scheduled induction. Prior to the day of my delivery, interactions on my birth and care plan were exclusively held with my consultant, so I hadn’t appreciated the major role that the midwife team played in influencing and executing key decisions throughout labour and delivery. There were some differing opinions and suggestions across the midwives and the consultant, which was a bit confusing to navigate at times. All staff members were very kind and professional. I especially appreciated Dr Peter Williamson, who was very patient and thorough with ensuring I made an informed decision on pain management. Both my baby and I were exceptionally well cared for in the postnatal ward. All the midwives were incredibly helpful, though as a first-time mum, I didn’t always know what to ask and feel I could have better utilised my time in hospital to do so. Similar to my delivery experience, the midwives and my consultant had different advice on when I should be discharged, which was a confusing experience for me as a patient on how to make the best decision for myself. My experience with the community midwife team so far has been wonderful. Ultimately I’m very glad I chose the Lindo Wing and very grateful to the entire care team for ensuring that my baby and I are healthy and cared for.

great hospital with lots of care from fantastic midwives.
I gave birth at the Lindo Wing in July 2026 under Ms Lakasing. It was my first baby so I was naturally nervous. I could not have asked for a nicer way to welcome our first child. Everything was so calm and I felt relaxed the whole time. The midwives and staff on the Lindo Wing could not have been more helpful or professional. It was a beautiful experience.
