Dr Edward Petzer is an experienced cardiologist with more than 16 years' experience in the field. He typically sees patients with symptoms such as dizziness, palpitations, chest pains, shortness of breath, and blood pressure issues. Dr Petzer uses the latest technology to diagnose and treat his patients and has particular expertise in heart failure, syncope, and cardiac device implantation. He is the lead complex device implanter at King's College Hospital and is skilled in high volume device surgery, performing over 700 implantations a year including the LINQ implant, pacemakers, and internal cardiac defibrillators. He was also responsible for implementing the Internal Cardiac Defibrillator, Pacemaker and Cardiac Resynchronising Services within Darent Valley Hospital.

Dr Petzer gained his MB ChB in 1992 from the University of Cape Town before becoming a fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians in 2003. After training under renowned cardiac surgeons in Holland where he gained skills in SUBQ technology, Dr Petzer was able to implant the first subcutaneous cardiac defibrillator in Kent - a procedure he then integrated into his own private practice.
