Dr. Sam Abraham is a Consultant Physician and Geriatrician with a special interest in Movement Disorders and Stroke. He has been associated with Wrexham Maelor Hospital, Betsi Cadwalader University Health Board since 2007, where he has helped in developing and establishing Parkinson's disease clinics. He also holds the position of Visiting Professor at Wrexham Glyndwr University.

He first decided he wanted to pursue his interest in geriatric medicine when he started working at the then Caerphilly Miners Hospital in 2001. After completing his specialist training he joined as Consultant at Wrexham Maelor hospital in 2007 and was instrumental in setting up Movement disorder service for Parkinson's disease patients at Wrexham.

Dr. Abraham has a strong research interest in biomarkers for Parkinson's Disease and has served as the Principal Investigator for several clinical research trials in Parkinson's disease and Stroke. 

Dr. Abraham is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and has worked as an examiner for the MRCP PACES exam for trainees in medicine both nationally and internationally.

His expertise spans various areas, including the diagnosis and management of Parkinson's Disease, Stroke management, Dementia assessment, Mental capacity assessment, and comprehensive geriatric assessments. He is also an active member of the British Geriatric Society, highlighting his commitment to the field of geriatric medicine and the well-being of older patients.
