The surgery itself was great and completed successfully, however, the wait time and ward care was not good. I was phoned around 7pm the evening before my appointment to come in earlier in the morning for the surgery (the first slot at 7.30) but by the time I was called for surgery it was after 2pm. I was given one glass of water to sip at approx 9am which wasn't refilled so by the time I went into surgery I was dehydrated and my vein had collapsed. When returning from surgery I had a reaction to the drugs where blood pressure dropped when sitting up, the nurses wouldn't listen and kept trying to make me stand when I couldn't sit up all the way. It got to the point where my partner had to intervene and speak to the registered nurse. They told me they had to get me out as it was a day surgery (which I understand) but as I physically couldn't sit or stand they ignored what we were saying so they could discharge where it may not have been in my best interests to do so. I ended up staying the night after my partner intervened and the night staff were great and I experienced a significant raise in care.

Mr Mazin Ibrahim

I underwent ACL reconstruction with meniscus repairs under the care of Mr Mazin Ibrahim, and I am now around 9–10 weeks post-surgery. From my first consultation through to surgery and follow-up, I found Mr Ibrahim to be highly professional, knowledgeable, and reassuring. He explained my diagnosis and treatment options clearly, took the time to answer questions, and never made me feel rushed. The surgical plan was well explained, and the procedure itself went smoothly. Post-operatively, my knee has been stable, and my recovery has progressed as expected with no complications so far. Mr Ibrahim demonstrated strong expertise in knee surgery and a calm, confident manner that gave me trust in the process. I felt well supported throughout, and the communication between himself, the hospital team, and physiotherapy was excellent.

After my atrial fibrillation (AFib) diagnosis, I booked an appointment with Dr Davies at the Park Hospital. He explained the treatment options: medication, a cardioversion (an electrical reset of the heart), or an ablation. His manner and experience are second to none. He helped me understand the options and I decided upon the RF ablation using the new state of the art facility at the Park. Dr Davies and his brilliant team carried out the procedure and the ITU aftercare team were equally impressive. I’m very pleased to say it went well and heart is now back in normal sinus rhythm, and I’m expected to make a full recovery. I would have no hesitation in highly recommending Dr Davies and everyone at the Park Hospital.

My recent experience and the appointment with Dr Sawh before were excellent. From Charlotte to the Ella Mae Barnes location the service was genuine and authentic with a focus on customer service and problem solving. Dr Sawh and his team are always timely but my broader experience at Spire is not always so good. Charlotte is a very good professional. As was the receptionist at the Ella Barnes location. I find the service at the Spire Hospital inconsistent. There are generally long delays at appointments and I get the feeling the service from some staff are not as authentic as mentioned above. With this broader service It fees like people are operating to a script and running through a process.

My stay at Abbeycare Gloucester was exactly what I needed to aid my recovery. I arrived feeling hopeless and desperate. I felt safe and calm during my time here. The staff are so caring and understanding, while challenging the thinking and behaviors that got me here in the first place. This is my first time at Abbeycare but my 2nd time in rehab. Abbeycare is streets ahead of my previous experience. In that I left feeling more equipped to deal with life sober and supported. They have a strong aftercare program and community which I will use as part of my recovery journey. 10/10 from me. Rich W

I understand went a procedure at Kingsbridge hospital Ballykelly. From my first appointment I was treated with care and respect. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My appointment prompt and quick. All question and queries I had where answered in a matter I could understand. On the morning of my procedure the room I was given was clean and bright. Staff were very attentive and made me feel at ease. After the op try he staff where always near taking vitals and super attentive. The staff and doctors made my stay comfortable and mostly pain free.

After I had the required surgery by Mrs Mathews, the following day was a revelation brightness and visibility that I had not seen in years.

She immediately diagnosed my condition and prescribed medication which gave me instant relief. She was so thorough in her approach, testing and following through leaving no doubt. I can honestly say it was life changing. Professor Johnson is truly a one off, an incredible character and the best medical professional I have ever come across. I cannot thank her enough.

Facility was excellent, nice and clean as well as lovely and quiet. Instructions weee clear, and the receptionist was extremely friendly, as were the nursing staff I saw. The surgeon I spoke to was excellent, everything was explained and he was more than happy to explain things in more detail if I required, and I didn’t feel pressured to leave, as if I was taking too much of his time. My overall experience was excellent, I couldn’t have asked for anything more.

Vast majority of the people were super friendly and made my hospital stay very comfortable. Hospital was clean and everyone was extremely professional. I did get the feeling though that you get rushed a bit when it gets to recovery and need to get going post-surgery which is not ideal as sometimes you are just not feeling fit enough or ready to go home straight away, especially after general anaesthesia. Overall extremely positive experience.
