I received my care at the Spire Regency Hospital in Macclesfield following a unicompartmental knee replacement in November 2025, and the standard of care throughout was excellent. From recovery through to the ward, the post-operative care was consistently compassionate, professional, and attentive. Every member of staff I encountered — from nursing and medical staff to healthcare assistants, physiotherapists, and catering staff — was kind, supportive, and clearly committed to patient wellbeing. Although I didn’t manage to note everyone’s name, those I did were outstanding and a real credit to the hospital. The physiotherapy support was particularly impressive. My post-operative physiotherapist understood exactly how far my knee should be bending at each stage and struck the right balance between encouragement and reassurance. This helped me overcome the understandable mental barriers around pain and guarding, and I was given a clear and structured recovery exercise plan to follow at home.

I also see her for weight loss and again, for anyone contemplating medical assisted weight loss, I would always recommend going through someone like Dr Cowie. I came away from the appointment in a better frame of mind and with realistic targets to aim for.

All the staff I came into contact with today were very kind. At each stage I had an explanation of what would happen next, and they checked in I was ok. I had a robotic total prostatectomy for a high grade cancer and two and a half years later I remain cancer free, with normal urine continence and satisfactory recovery in erectile function. My follow-up appointments are always on time as scheduled. I highly recommend the professional care provided by Prof Challacombe to any man faced with a diagnosis of prostate cancer.

After a frustrating year with an ankle injury sustained playing football, seeing Alex at PSM has been great. Alex provided a detailed analysis of my gait and took a 3D scan of my foot to create orthoses customised to me. He also clearly explained what was going on with my ankle and how it can get better, having done a number of tests to pinpoint the issue. Highly recommend Alex for anyone struggling with a foot-related sports injury.

Overall experience was good, its just last day after one staff's manners made it all very sour. My impression was staff in question was ready to go hone after her shift and as my lift couldn't come before the end of shif ,she made me feel as I have where to go and makings an excuse for late going home. All sorted with very friendly staff who came on night shift after her. I did staff let know that I will be going home afrer 8 pm.
