I wanted to take a moment to share what this journey has meant to me and to sincerely thank you and your team for being part of one of the biggest decisions of my life. I’ve battled with my weight for as long as I can remember. In July 2022, I hit my breaking point after seeing a photo of myself at my heaviest. I was ashamed, overwhelmed, and completely defeated. I avoided mirrors and felt exhausted and unhappy. Over the years, I had tried everything—diets, medications, fitness programs—but nothing gave me lasting change. I felt stuck. Choosing bariatric surgery was not an easy decision. It came with tears, fear, doubt, and a lot of soul-searching. I know not everyone understands or agrees with this choice, but for me it was never about appearance. It was about choosing a healthier, happier, longer life. It was about being here for my family and the people I love. It was about choosing myself. From my very first appointment, the care, compassion, and reassurance I received from you, the consultant, and the entire team made such a difference. Every question was answered, every worry was taken seriously, and I always felt supported rather than judged. The kindness, professionalism, and encouragement shown to me before and after surgery helped me feel confident in my decision and safe throughout the process. The fear of not being present for my family someday scared me far more than surgery ever could. Thank you for the exceptional care, guidance, and support you have all shown me. You haven’t just helped me through a procedure—you’ve helped give me a real chance at a new beginning, and for that I will always be grateful.

I had an excellent experience at the Lindo Wing. Everyone (midwives, baby doctors, anaesthesiologists) were exceptionally calm, supportive, and reassuring throughout my stay. Every step was clearly explained, and all questions were answered with patience and care. Even with the smallest concern about my baby’s health, a neonatologist was promptly invited to carry out a full assessment, which gave me great peace of mind. I was also supported with my baby’s breast attachment immediately in the delivery room, which was incredibly helpful. The rooms are very well equipped, and during delivery both my and my baby’s heart rates were continuously monitored and carefully assessed. After the birth, we received ongoing guidance on next steps, and both my baby’s and my own health were checked frequently and thoroughly.

My experience of the hospital was very good. The staff were amazing especially Jayne on Day surgery and David at the ward at night. The only downside that came to my attention is being told that there was no lactose free milk for my tea. The lady, I did catch her name, told me that she wasn’t aware of my overnight stay. She asked me if I was aware that I was staying overnight and I replied ‘yes’. She then went on to ask if I had put it in my forms prior to attending and I said yes. She kept on going on it wasn’t her fault she had been told. A bit of advice would be that she overshared. She clearly sorted the problem as the following morning someone had picked up the milk and I had it with my tea.

She is a compassionate, understanding, and highly skilled professional who has consistently listened to my concerns, as I have been her patient for many years. She always provides a clear, actionable plan that instils complete confidence in my care. She consistently takes the time to explain all treatment options clearly, ensuring I feel secure and well cared for. Dr Rehman listens carefully and communicates very effectively. Based on my personal experience, she is highly empathetic and treats her patients holistically with full support. I am incredibly fortunate to have her as my oncologist and deeply grateful for her care.

I highly recommend Miss Mez Aref-Adib. I’m 39 years old and had a 6 cm fibroid that caused heavy bleeding and severe pain. Dr. Aref-Adib performed my laparoscopic surgery and successfully removed all of the fibroids. She was extremely attentive to my condition after the surgery, followed up closely to make sure everything was going well, and was always available to answer any questions I had during recovery. Three months later, I feel so much better, and there is only a very faint mark left from the stitches on my abdomen. I highly recommend Dr. Aref-Adib—not only because she is highly skilled and professional, but also because she is genuinely kind, caring, and responsive.

My most recent visit was for an MRI scan which occurred in in the mobile unit. My oncologist requested a full spinal scan as well as a head and neck scan. The radiographer told me that this wasn’t possible then proceeded to ask me to choose one or the other. I wasn’t qualified to make this decision as both were equally important. There was insufficient information given as to the reason for not being able to have the scans I was booked in for, which really wasn’t good enough. Having waited quite a few weeks for this appointment I am annoyed that I will have to return next week to have the spinal scan. I expect better.

I have been a patient of Dr. Hurel for many years now (at least 8 years). He is wonderful and one of my favourite physicians. Dr. Hurel is extremely knowledgeable in the field of endocrinology. It is obvious to me that he keeps up with the latest research in his field as he will often speak about what the latest studies show. He is also kind, understanding, and very encouraging, and has a great demeanour. He takes his time with his patients and has always been available to me if I have any questions or run into any problems. He comes highly recommended.

Dr Wajid Hussain

Since my very first appointment with Dr Wajid Hussain and then tests, ablation of the heart and follow ups it has been a first class experience. He is absolutely fantastic. Very confident and super clear in his explanations of diagnosis and treatment plans. He is also very caring and a warm human being and makes one feel comfortable and save. He is an excellent professional cardiologist. I am very grateful that he is my doctor. Also his secretary Laura Delton is supper efficient so I am delighted with him and his team.

He was able to explain clearly the reasons for all the preliminary tests and answered questions fully in terms that I could understand. My appointment with Dr Guy Haywood was very good. - Dr Haywood had read the briefing information I supplied about my condition. - Dr Haywood interviewed me to establish how my atrial fibrillation was affecting me. - Dr Haywood examined me and my ECG and then explained very clearly the available treatments and their limitations. I am now happy that I have a better understanding of my condition and the options open to me if my condition starts to impact my activities.

I had a partial thyroidectomy and removal of an extremely large goiter with Dr Ofo, he was knowledgeable and professional throughout with an exceptional bedside manner. I was particularly anxious about the surgery as I was recently post partum, but I need not have been. The incision was a lot smaller than I expected and has healed very well, to the point where other medical professionals have commented on good the scar looks. I would highly recommend.

Janette, my nurse couldn't have been friendlier or more reassuring, the food I had was very good and fresh, and then to have a little sprinkling of reflexology on the 'menu' was icing on the cake! All in all a great experience.
