Mr Jon Palmer carried out a complex replacement of my right knee followed three months later by a partial replacement of my left knee. The arrangements for both operations were straightforward and extremely efficient. My care in hospital was first class and both operations were a complete success. I was particularly impressed by the speed of my recovery and the resolution of all the symptoms. I am pain free and can do anything I could do several years ago including cycling, walking and even running despite being nearly 80 years old. Mr Palmer’s manner was exceptionally kind and professional and he dealt with one episode of unnecessary concern by me immediately at some inconvenience to himself and in the kindest and most understanding way possible. There cannot be a specialist knee surgeon better than Jon Palmer anywhere in the country. My rheumatologist was most insistent that Mr Palmer should be the one to do the surgery and that advice was invaluable.

I never felt rushed or judged, and they took the time to explain things clearly so I actually understood what was going on rather than feeling labelled. Since the diagnosis, I’ve felt more clarity about myself and my wellbeing, and that alone has been hugely valuable. I was recently referred to The Alexandra hospital as an NHS patient for a left hip replacement. I was very nervous as I have a rare genetic condition called 'Nail Patella Syndrome' which affects my bones and my previous, right hip replacement was complicated when my femur broke during surgery. Mr Phaltankar was wonderful. He explained everything to me and was a real gentleman. The surgery was a huge success using a different, smaller prosthetic. I would highly recommend Mr Phaltankar. I cannot thank him enough for sorting out my very painful left hip. I would also like to add that being at 'The Alex' for this surgery was a fabulous experience. The care I received throughout was second to none. I could not have received better care.

My operation was a success, and the call at home on my return from Mr Hughes was very much appreciated. Both my follow up consultations have been very successful and I am pleased to be recovering well. Once Again Dr Chiraush Patel was outstandingly professional and kind. I was fortunate enough to get an appointment within an hour of calling. It cannot be overestimated how important it is to patients to have a well trained Doctor with exemplary bedside manner to help the patient to recovery. This is true of all the other GPs at One Stop, but I am lucky enough to see Dr Patel mostly. My standards are very high but Dr Patel exceeds them by miles every time I visit (I only visit sparingly). This is medicine at its very best and reminds me of when GPs were true family Dotors back before fundholding. I am fortunate indeed to have such excellent GPs. Thank you Dr Patel and OSD!

Any correspondence I have had with Mr Turab Syed and also his secretary I may add, has been very professional, friendly & helpful. Although I have to say that where it stops!!! It has been a nightmare for me trying to get through to talk to someone at the front desk regarding follow up appointments for steroids injections etc.I have been put through to various people & end up talking to someone on a central line in Glasgow 😩 now I have to wait until April for an appointment😢 This system should be addressed!!! It would be a joy if more people were like Mr Syed. & also his very obliging secretary 🤗 Kindest regards Georgina P.

Lucy Clarke was recommended to me after a failed diagnosis and plastic surgery to my accident related damaged left eye lid. Lucy diagnosed the damage was to a muscle in the eyelid and her and her team carried out the surgery to correct this. Lucy and her team were so understanding and caring throughout the whole procedure and I was returning home within 2 hours of my appointment. Dr Shebani is personal and knows each child individually, she didn’t rush the appointment and spent the time with us to explain everything and even took the time to speak to my son and explain things to him. We have been with Dr Shebani for many years now and she knows her patient inside out therefore you don’t have to explain everything when you have the next visit. She is very supportive to the parents and will try her best to accommodate to the wishes. She is very much a voice for the parents to the medical team that work behind the scenes.

Though I prepared in advance for what expect in relation to parking and expected to pay on the way out, an usher directed me to another car park where there were options of paying on an app or using cash. I had time on my side luckily. Directions were almost right but I would have been better prepared if I had known the entrance sits at the back of the main A&E entrance. The staff were friendly and the environment was clean and calm. The doctor was incredible, attentive, patient, precise, clear and efficient. The experience was good.
