I cannot thank mr Rhys Thomas , his secretary and all the staff at Blackheath hospital enough they were all absolutely fantastic,and would recommend anyone who needs hernia treatment to go with mr Thomas and Blackheath hospital. He made me feel at ease and was very precise with his explanation. I had a sensitive issue and again Mr Thomas and his amazing secretary arranged everything with no complications. I have had my follow up and everything is going well and mr Thomas reassured me any issues that might occur he and his team will address it but I’m well on the road to recovery,so not expecting any complications but reassuring to know he is there if needed, so thank you again .

I was quite uncomfortable with some of the recommendation he made. He promoted a specific brand of phototherapy machine for me to purchase for home use. While I understand that phototherapy can be a valid treatment option, I found the recommendation to buy a specific brand directly from a doctor to be inappropriate for a medical consultation. I would have expected a discussion about whether phototherapy is suitable for my condition, the different ways to access it (e.g., in-office treatments, various home device options), and the pros and cons of each, rather than a direct sales pitch for a particular product

I felt genuinely listened to and involved in the conversation throughout. Louise Parker was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to really understand my symptoms and concerns. Together we unpicked my individual triggers, which was both reassuring and informative, and we agreed a clear, tailored plan moving forward. The waiting has been difficult as communication has been poor. I have struggled to get a response from the office both via email and phone. I had a combined assessment and received my ADHD outcome 3 weeks ago. I am still waiting for my autism assessment outcome despite being told the clinical decision has been made. The staff I saw as part of my assessment were fantastic and the support team have been helpful (when I’ve been able to contact them). It’s just a shame that the poor communication has spoilt the overall experience. It would have been good to under the process flow at each stage.

The overall experience was very good. The information beforehand was comprehensive and honest and everything went according to plan. The pain in my knee and leg immediately afterwards still took my breath away but, as Christopher Gooding said they would, things got better. The Nuffield nursing staff were kind and considerate while I was in and my two visits afterwards for taking the staples out and later seeing Mr Gooding were reassuring.

I had a knee replacement and had a reaction to the anaesthetic which resulted in me having to spend several days in bed vomiting copiously. The staff were so supportive and caring; the nurses couldn’t help enough, the porters, physios, catering staff and cleaning crew were good natured , helpful and thorough. Since arriving home I have had numerous phone conversations with Horder staff, who have been reassuring and helpful with my recovery.

I thoroughly enjoyed staying in The Westminster Maternity Suite twice, after delivering my babies. The care, cleanliness, privacy, personal space and food are fantastic. I had really enjoyed staying there for the recovery after giving birth. The views of Big Ben both times were an amazing bonus for the night feeds of my newborn.
