Moving to a new country was supposed to be an exciting fresh start, but instead I found myself struggling with depression and anxiety in ways I'd never experienced before. Everything felt overwhelming - the isolation, adjusting to a new culture, being away from everything familiar. I didn't recognise myself anymore. Working with Karima has been transformative. She understood the complexity of what I was going through - it wasn't just about feeling low, it was about grief, identity, belonging, and rebuilding my life from scratch. She created such a compassionate space whilst also helping me develop practical strategies to manage both the depression and anxiety. I'm still in therapy, but the difference is remarkable. I can handle difficult days so much better now. I've got tools that actually work, and more importantly, I've found hope again. I can see a future here that feels possible, even good. The anxiety doesn't consume me the way it did, and the depression has lifted enough that I can engage with my new life rather than just surviving it. Suffered with gallstones 5 weeks after having my baby, longest with NHS wasn’t ideal for me being a new mum let alone the anxiety of having another gallbladder attack. I booked a consultation at Nuffield for another surgeon originally and I made an error with my dates, by chance Michael had a free appointment the following day ( fate) Booked , attended consultation . Michael was lovely , uofront , honest and very to the point. surgery planned for 18th December ( 3 weeks from consultation ) I was so nervous about the surgery but meeting with Michael on the morning of , he was relaxed , very calming and made me feel at ease. Before I knew it I was back in my room and home by 8pm the same evening. Recovery has been great and had my post op catch up today. Michael you are a wonderful surgeon and your personal relationship with your patients is second to none from following up personally after surgery to putting a very anxious person at ease. I had the best treatment and aftercare from you and would recommend you to anyone having any issues. Thank you so much for everything but most of all getting me back to myself. Kimberley

I had a consultation on 2/12/25 with Mr Kalvarezos . He was absolutely brilliant . I felt so so reassured and he explained everything thoroughly and provided me with all the information I needed and more . He was very thorough and gave me plenty of time and I could ask everything I needed to know and I came away with so much information that was so so helpful and gave me clarity . He has a lovely way about him and is very pleasant to talk to and I am delighted to have had that consultation . His secretary Amanda was also incredible and she was lovely and caring and so so efficient and reassuring and she really does care and was so fast with E mails, phone calls and getting information together and she is also such a kind, warm hearted person . Wow ! Absolutely brilliant . Excellent .

Welcoming and helpful. Only one lift was working and the remaining one was noisy and slow but there was a notice advising of this. The coffee machine in wait area was out of order Reception staff were kind and helpful but sometimes difficult to understand accent. One set of chairs in a sub waiting area was under a shelf which meant I knocked my head. Appeared clean and efficient and was quiet on day of my visit. Preoperative bloods were done straight after consultation which is very good and in fact results appeared next day. That's good service. Overall allowing for things that happen a positive experience.

Nurse Becky was charming and reassuring and relaxed me prior to Mr Khans arrival. Very efficient and easy process, Mr Khan explained exactly what he was going to do and once the initial pain of the injection was passed the whole process was painless. I have not had any problems with the 2 wounds in my foot and am looking forward to removing the pads and applying the smaller dressings. I currently have none of the throbbing continuous pain that I have been experiencing for years Thank you it is such a relief.

Dr Rozati was able to give me advice on the current treatments options and how the treatment pan would be drafted. Whist I didn’t go for the radio therapy option, Dr Rozati was able to refer me to my surgeon.
