About Mr Edward Pringle
Mr Pringle is a Consultant Ophthalmologist based at King's College Hospital, London. He studied medical sciences at Cambridge University and graduated from Oxford University Clinical School. Mr Pringle then undertook subspecialist training in inflammatory eye disease, medical and surgical retina in London. He also practices, teaches, trains and lectures in cataract surgery and all aspects of retinal disease including diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusion, retinal detachment, macular hole, epiretinal membrane and uveitis.

I have been extremely worried and anxious since seeing the optician at Specsavers and finding out that I now had wet macular degeneration. My mum had this for several years and she was registered blind as there was no treatment available at that time. We are in a new world now and there is treatment for this condition as Dr Pringle explained to me. I left his clinic feeling so much more positive and relieved. He answered all my questions and there were many! The optician at Specsavers did an urgent NHS referral which should be within two weeks. As I was so anxious my son arranged an appointment with Dr Pringle to discuss and try to alleviate my worries. This has helped me enormously.

My visit was to see Liz Tomlin (Orthoptist) who was recommended by Mr Pringle about a double vision problem which I was continuing to experience after recently having had new glasses made following an annual review by my regular optician. Liz found that the prisms I had been prescribed by the optician needed adjustment and established that I have a V-pattern esotropia. This was discussed with Mr Pringle and it was reassuring to note that my monocular distance acuities are excellent, and the lens implants are clear. I am most grateful to Mr Pringle and Liz Tomlin for the professional expertise they have provided. Lily R
