A bad first impression: I arrived as requested at 7:30 to find no staff in Reception and the whole area in darkness! After about 10 , mins a nurse arrived to take us through to the ward. I had been told by the nurse on the phone doing the pre-op check that I was first on the list. However on the day I was told I was 6th, but suspect there were more than 5 people in front of me, as I was not taken downstairs for the procedure until 1about 11:30.. The problem for me was that I was very nervous and the unexpected delay made me very anxious. During my time in Room 19 the male nurse (?) looking after me did an excellent job, trying to reassure me as well as doing all the necessary preparation. Once I got to the operating theatre everyone was pleasant, efficient and friendly, The sedation was effective and the experience much less unpleasant that the retinal tear repair I had had at Moorfields about 10 years ago. I am now in a much better state to face the procedure on the 2nd eve in a few days time.

After months of waiting on the NHS I went to see Mr Bailey. After my initial consultation I felt such relief as not only was there a clear plan of what we were going to do, but relief came from being actively listened to about my injury and my concerns. Ultimately we made the decision that keyhole surgery for my medial meniscal tear was the best option. The daily pain I was in, I often described as a persistent dull ache but it was gone almost immediately after surgery. Since the surgery I have felt like a new person. Mr Bailey remembered a comment I made about my concerns on looking after my young children with the lack of mobility. I was pleased not only to get my full motion back thanks to his skill but found him so personable with the fact that he remembered this comment several months later at my final consultation. After suffering a neurological event which was initially feared to be a potential stroke and being released prematurely by an NHS hospital, we managed to book an appointment with Dr. Rakshi the next morning. Dr. Rakshi immediately started asking all the right questions in a personable and calm but highly efficient, sharp way. He provided very clear explanations and observations around my symptoms and the potential causes, and immediately referred us for a same-day MRI and some additional tests. Followed up within less than a week with a follow up appointment which he helped me book personally by slotting me in between other appointments even though the hospital stated his calendar was full. Overall he was fantastic at helping us understand the situation, putting our mind at ease, and understanding next steps. I highly recommend him.

So many times since pandemic, in my experience businesses seem to have cut back on providing that so important first line of contact with a person who is friendly, welcoming and listens making intelligent comments and is really helping the caller. This was one if the best experiences I have met with lately - I can't praise the young lady enough - she's a real asset to the Practice. For the entire duration of the treatment he was very clear in setting expectations, what I should expect immediately after surgery and later during my recovery. My daughter had her tonsils removed here last week. The whole experience was amazing. The room that she was brought too was lovely and so clean . The staff were all so nice and put her at ease . She wasn’t scared at all and didn’t want to leave when it was time to go . I couldn’t recommend this place enough. From the catering staff, nurses , anaesthetist and Dr Greg McBride himself , I couldn’t have asked for a nicer bunch of people to care for my daughter.
