The third lower back operation, to free my sciatic nerve. My first going private and it was well worth it. I was very assured by Mr Bhagawati’s initial promise that he could free the offending and constantly painful nerve. He had reviewed my MRI and showed and explained what the problem was. My admittance to the Cobham Clinic was timely and staff were brilliant. Mr Bhagawati saw me post op and explained exactly what he had done and that he considered it a success. He was also available to speak to, on the phone, a couple of weeks after the operation when I had a concern. Upon seeing him at the Spire Hospital, he explained in detail, what he’d done and I could assure him that I am recovering well and am extremely happy with the outcome. If I do have any concerns, I can get in touch with him within the 12 months following the operation.

My hydroceles were diagnosed in 2021, at which time they were unproblematic. Though they developed, I dithered about possible courses of action, having consulted two specialist surgeons. I stumbled across Mr Muir about three months ago by which time I really needed to do something. The previous surgeons had seemed both competent and sympathetic, but it was Mr Muir’s experience, patent expertise, clear provision of information and explanations that gave me the confidence to go ahead with the surgery he recommended. It went brilliantly. There was no post-operative pain and I recovered quickly. Impossible to fault in any way! Also, all the medical and support staff around Mr Muir were impeccable. One nurse described Mr Muir as a ‘surgical genius’. Given how smoothly my operation and recovery have gone, I have no reason to disagree.

It’s now almost 6 months since I had my operation with Mr. Mondelli, and I can honestly say I only wish I had done it sooner. I feel so good, and the pain I used to have before the surgery is now just a distant memory! The consultation was very informative, and I had time to think about my options. When I finally decided to go ahead with the surgery, I called his secretary and he put on the waiting list straight away without any delays. The surgery went really well, and Mr. Mondelli found endometriosis and managed to remove it all, also the one closer to my bowel.

Her space in Islington is exceptional, with many tools for rehabilitation including a reformer bed, weights station, etc. I wouldn't go anywhere else, even when other options are closer to home. I thought that being asked to arrive at 4pm was too early. All I had to do for the first 2 hours was a 10 minute check-in with the nurse. Then at 6pm onwards I met the consultant. I was third on the list so it was after 8pm before I went in and I hadn't eaten since 11.30am. I just think you could ask people to arrive at 5pm, not 4pm. Nurses friendly. Facility good. Consultant and team excellent. Happy with procedure.
