After 3 years of ongoing symptoms, countless tests and multiple gynaecologists, I had completely given up hope of ever finding a solution to my problem. However, when I found Dr Lord’s website and saw that she was a true authority on recurrent, treatment-resistant thrush, I finally allowed myself to hope again! Her wonderful Private Secretary, Toyah, was so kind and empathetic and went above and beyond to get me in quickly for an initial consultation. Then when I met with Emily I was blown away by every element of her approach – the holistic evaluation of my situation, the fact that even in a short time she had read my full medical history, the way she was incredibly thorough and knowledgeable whilst still being funny, caring, understanding and down-to-earth, and the clear way she laid out my treatment plan and next steps. She is clearly very passionate about helping women with this unique problem and is also at the forefront of treatment options and solutions to get people back to being happy and healthy again! After years of feeling frustrated, confused and at a complete loss as to what to do next, within 45 minutes with Emily I had a full treatment plan and reassurance that she'd be there for me until we had the right solution. If I could give her 6 stars I would, she’s one in a million and by far the best experience I’ve ever had with a medical professional.

Six weeks after my second hip replacement with Mr Gavin Love, I’m walking unaided, sleeping comfortably, and — best of all — no longer living with the grinding pain of arthritis. The only thing left hobbling is my memory of what life was like before the operation! This was Gavin’s second time working on my hips (he did the first one six years ago, which is still going strong), so I knew I was in excellent hands. His calm, confident manner and clear communication made a potentially daunting experience remarkably easy. He’s not just a highly skilled surgeon — he’s also reassuring, kind, and has the sort of calm presence that makes you feel like everything’s going to be alright. And it is. A big thank you also to Mr Matthew Cheketts, my anaesthetist, who I suspect could put someone at ease even before the sedatives kick in. Everything about the surgical experience was professional, safe, and smooth. The staff at Kings Park Hospital were wonderful from start to finish — attentive, friendly, and always ready with a smile (and, thankfully, the occasional cup of tea). They made what could have been a very clinical stay feel more like a stay with extended family — only better stocked with painkillers. In short, if you’re facing hip replacement surgery, you won’t find a better team. Gavin Love is, quite literally, a name to remember — especially if you want to walk away pain-free and wondering why you didn’t do it sooner.

My experience was first rate from beginning to end. At my first consultation Mr Coull gave me a very clear understanding of my treatment options and guided me to a decision that took account of my priorities. On the day of the surgery he was supportive and encouraging and left me feeling I knew exactly what I needed to do to recover well. I had only minimal pain post the procedure and my tiny neat incisions healed quickly. At my final clinic Mr Coull checked my progress with care, reassured me and left me feeling confident to put the procedure behind me and return to all my activities. Mr Coull clearly has a very high level of technical skill but he is also a fantastic communicator. Despite being in my seventies, keeping physically active is very important to me. Unlike other doctors of my experience, Mr Coull was respectful and supportive of this and this meant a great deal to me.

This was a follow-up appointment. It should have been after 2 weeks but because the practitioner works very part-time this wasn’t possible. She then said I should have been in sooner! Treatment not as successful as with past practitioners before we moved to this area (I had brought records to first appointment but she had suggested a different approach). Further treatment offered on the day of the follow-up but I felt the practitioner was getting very defensive and I was losing confidence, so I declined. When I was waiting to go in someone else was trying to book a follow-up appointment. When she couldn’t get one desk staff said it probably didn’t matter as most people don’t need it! This clinic suits me location wise but unfortunately this wasn’t a great experience so I won’t go back.

Dr Ohri listened and was incredibly attentive when I told her the symptoms I was presenting with and was very professional when understanding my medical background. My consultation was not rushed and I felt Dr Ohri was very personable and developed a professional and meaningful rapport with me as her patient. I believe she was very thorough with her examination and took a lot of care in explaining what the next steps were for me and allowed me to voice my own opinions throughout the consultation. I would strongly recommend Dr Rena Ohri and in the future and if I am requiring any further medical support will be returning back to her clinic.

I had been considering eye surgery and attended Cathedral Eye Clinic to get a second opinion, having already spoken with a consultant in Dublin. Putting it simply, my experience in Belfast was far superior. The team at Cathedral ran a more comprehensive range of tests, assigned more time and personnel to my case, and were far better at talking through my options. In particular, I was very pleased that they were willing to give me their honest perspectives based on what they felt was best for me in the long run. Ultimately (based on their guidance), I decided not to go forward with any additional procedure at this time, but should I need treatment further down the line, I will not hesitate to go back to Belfast.

I had a really positive experience staying at Nuffield Hospital. From admission to discharge, the staff were friendly, welcoming and kind. Everyone I interacted with was attentive, reassuring and helpful, which made a big difference during surgery and early recovery. Even when things were not perfect, such as not having a post-surgery bra in my exact size and sending me home in one that was a bit too big in the cups, the care and effort from the team never wavered. They handled everything with warmth, professionalism and good humour! Overall, I felt well looked after, respected and supported and I am very grateful to the staff who made what could have been a stressful experience feel calm and manageable. 💗

the appointment for my adhd assessment was online so I can’t comment on the cleaness of the office. The difficult part of this process was trying to keep track of the forms and how many questions you had to answer on a form without being able to save as you go along or being able to print them off and take your time to remember the examples. It would be great to have a checklist on screen that showed which forms you had completed and which ones were still left to do. The assessor put me at ease, she explained everything clearly.

He spent half an hour working on them until they fitted perfectly. I can't thank him enough I'm able to enjoy eating again, it's made a huge difference. Joshua started by reviewing how I was and I showed him the exercises he'd taught me. Then he asked my opinion on what I felt was important to target next and helped with exercises for that. He also made a video on my phone of an exercise, talking me through it, so I could remember it. Unfortunately I don't live locally so can't access his expertise on a regular basis.
