Following an angiogram that showed a need for heart by-pass surgery, I had a follow up appointment with Mr Javangula at the end of January 2024. At this appointment we talked about my heart history, and he comprehensively explained the need for by-pass surgery. At this stage there was a 3 to 4 month waiting list with the NHS, but because of the severity of my condition I opted for private treatment. I had quadruple heart by-pass surgery on the 14th February 2024 a (a great day to get your heart fixed). I cannot thank Mr Javangula enough for the amazing care I received. He came to see me personally every day following my surgery, including across the weekend. He was incredibly kind and reassuring, always taking the time to explain everything clearly at every stage. His professionalism and kindness made a huge difference at what was a very worrying and stressful time. I would also like to say thank you to the whole team at Nuffield Leeds Hospital. The care I received was outstanding from admission to my discharge. Every member of staff was attentive and compassionate. I would highly recommend Mr Javangula and the team at Nuffield. I am sure it is only natural to be very protective towards one's eyes and, from the moment of the first 'drops' being inserted in my right eye, I was extremely nervous and was dreading every moment. I was conscious throughout the whole operation on my right eye and it was not until it was all over that I realised I had not experienced any discomfort (let alone pain) from the moment the eye drops were first administered, to when the operation was all over. I am so grateful for the exceptional care and attention I received and, when it is time to operate on my left eye, I will enter the anesthetic room with the tried & tested knowledge that there is nothing for me to fear as I will not experience any discomfort whatsoever. I am extremely fortunate to have undergone an eye operation, performed by a team of such capable, dedicated and knowledgeable experts who safeguarded me from any discomfort.

My appointment with Dr Millar was on time and not at all rushed. She was very approachable and took the time to run through my results in detail. She gave in depth explanations that were correctly pitched to my level of understanding and she was incredibly patient with my long list of questions. In fact instead of seeming frustrated she appeared empathetic. She was very thorough, explained what would happen next and ensured I was clear on follow up. I honestly couldn’t be more grateful for her persistence with testing and for her help with the understanding the outcome. The diagnosis made all the pieces of the puzzle fall in place and Dr Millar seemed to recognise the importance of that.

Paid privately for Hip Replacement, initial appointment was disappointing with an hour wait, and a non interested surgeon. A few blips along the way, upon arrival on surgery day, they had me down for a knee replacement not hip, staff on night shift not the friendliest, and thet x rayed the incorrect hip after the surgery. Day shift were great and surgery went well. I will say I expected more for paying privately however the main thing I've had my surgery instead of the ridiculous wait time on the nhs.

This time I had a Rayner Galaxy Toric Multifocal lens put in my left eye. I am very pleased with the results - my vision is now excellent. Occasionally, I need to wear reading glasses ( not a prescription just a pair bought from any shop) if I am doing some close work or reading small print in poor light.

When in 2nd floor private area do not expect trappings of luxury or flashy equipment. You do get kindness, attentiveness and skill and efficiency. Came out with problem fixed. No cafe.
