A bad first impression: I arrived as requested at 7:30 to find no staff in Reception and the whole area in darkness! After about 10 , mins a nurse arrived to take us through to the ward. I had been told by the nurse on the phone doing the pre-op check that I was first on the list. However on the day I was told I was 6th, but suspect there were more than 5 people in front of me, as I was not taken downstairs for the procedure until 1about 11:30.. The problem for me was that I was very nervous and the unexpected delay made me very anxious. During my time in Room 19 the male nurse (?) looking after me did an excellent job, trying to reassure me as well as doing all the necessary preparation. Once I got to the operating theatre everyone was pleasant, efficient and friendly, The sedation was effective and the experience much less unpleasant that the retinal tear repair I had had at Moorfields about 10 years ago. I am now in a much better state to face the procedure on the 2nd eve in a few days time.

There was a massive time delay in getting my discharge letter/documents After lots of emails to Binley and Coventry ( possibly some to “ differing addresses “ , I admit ) phone calls ( no call backs as promised) I eventually received an email from Binley with the discharge document attached IT WAS WRONG ! I have asked for another ACCURATE letter I feel “ a look into “ your ADMINISTRATIVE SYSTEMS should be immediately undertaken Angela said she would “ close my file “ , perhaps a shade early considering the happenings By the way your documentation quotes a 15 minute walk from Coventry Railway station to your Binley site …..,…… MORE LIKE AN HOUR ! I had a combined ASD and ADHD assessment at Diverse Minds Clinic. The service exceeded my expectations, and I am very happy to recommend it. Dr Cappai was very kind and thorough in her approach and made me feel welcome and accepted throughout the difficult process of having these two assessments done. Holly House and its staff are excellent. The whole atmosphere was one of cleanliness, professionalism and friendliness Particular mention should go to Mo, my nurse throughout the day. He was calm, honest and made me feel comfortable and that my concerns were listened to. A great asset to the staff. (My only complaint was I was told to arrive at 6.30am, as I was to be first on the list at 7.30am; to then be told my operation would not be until midday. I didn't even bring a book! However, I did get to watch four episodes of Frasier back-to-back, so it wasn't all bad!)

Overall a good experience except the wait time for the report. The clinicians were professional and friendly. The administration staff were also professional and helpful. The reports are very thorough, clear and professional. The report was over 4 weeks past the date it was expected / had been told. This proved to be extremely stressful. For me it would have been better to advertise a longer wait time and deliver it sooner rather than the other way around. Of course I accept that delays can occur. Overall a good experience and would recommend. Thank you.
