This was my first colonoscopy procedure so I didn’t know what to expect and was quite anxious. Looking at the patient reviews on this site beforehand really helped me so I wanted to add my own comments here as well. The 2 day preparation for my late afternoon procedure (fasting and drinking the cleansing medication) was actually the worst part, however I followed the instructions and kept myself very hydrated throughout, that along with a couple of boiled sweets in the last couple of hours to stop the hunger pangs really helped. The clinic staff were all really friendly and helpful from the moment I arrived and talked me through the process throughout so I knew what to expect. I had sedation for the procedure itself which was completely painless, and I got the results quickly. At all times my wellbeing was prioritised by the staff, with 1 to 1 nursing and a very welcome drink and biscuit afterwards. Special thanks from me to Roberta and Dr Khan, and my aftercare nurse whose name I forgot (sorry!)

I had been considering eye surgery and attended Cathedral Eye Clinic to get a second opinion, having already spoken with a consultant in Dublin. Putting it simply, my experience in Belfast was far superior. The team at Cathedral ran a more comprehensive range of tests, assigned more time and personnel to my case, and were far better at talking through my options. In particular, I was very pleased that they were willing to give me their honest perspectives based on what they felt was best for me in the long run. Ultimately (based on their guidance), I decided not to go forward with any additional procedure at this time, but should I need treatment further down the line, I will not hesitate to go back to Belfast.

We had a very difficult worry this week with our 8 year old son experiencing gastro intestinal symptoms that he does not normally experience with his food allergies. We were given an appointment very fast with Professor du Toit. The staff was great. I was on the ground floor ward and was well taken care off. Members of staff were kind, courteous and helpful. I specifically note that staff members such as Sibo, Clementina, Clara and Ashy were very good and efficient and overall made my treatment a positive experience. My one to one therapist was excellent, in that Holly. I do however note that the food quality was inconsistent, at times the meals were good but there were times where things fell short as limited alternatives were available.

The actual visit with dentist (Simon Robertson) was at is normal excellent standard by explaining what dental work was required to resolve the situation of which he completed explaining each task as he progressed with no drama or problems. I had a fall damaging my left knee, after a day or so my knee became swollen and extremely painful. I went online to find Mr Morgan who had replaced my right knee a few years ago and to my delight he was still at Princess Margaret. I booked an appointment for the next day where Mr Morgan examined my situation, drained the fluid, arranged a CT and explained the prognosis. I’m delighted to say I am back to almost normal, even had a round of golf!

The operating room was VERY COLD, and the nursing staff were very polite as I was very scared,the staff were most understanding and repeatedly asked if I was alright, but the doctor who carried out the operation (to me in a hurry to go home)kept on telling me to be still,i honestly believe any patient that has to undergo treatment to the eye should be given some type f tranqualisr to calm their nerves.

I visited Dr Neeraj at Derma Consult clinic because of my iron deficiency and to receive an iron infusion. He was so attentive, personable and thoughtful, and really put me at ease. The clinic is really beautiful and felt like a professional calm environment. The nurse administering my iron infusion was very experienced and at my side nearly the whole time.
