Mr Worthington explained on the basis of the scans that he had from St Peters the reasons for suggesting a medical procedure to drain a 4cm wide absess on my pancreas (not incidentally present on scans taken in April) He expained that there would be a biopsy taken to establish its nature and possibly the need to insert a stent temporarily. I was very satisfied with this proposed further treatment, albeit a bit surprised that the team at St Peters had not suggested that it should be done. I forgot to ask whether, if a repeat pancreatitis attack occurred, it would be possible for me to be admitted to Nuffield Guildford for treatment, insured by BUPA. And if so, what do I do at the outset, call 999 or the Nuffield?

From my initial enquiry about Refractive Lens Replacement surgery, through my surgery and aftercare I have had excellent care from Vision Scotland. Everything was clearly explained and the surgery has left me with the desired result, 20/20 vision with no glasses needed. The only (slight) negative difference here is a greater need for good light when reading at night or close work. The procedure was pain free and I have had no complications. I went because I’d had an issue with my left ear for around 6-12 months I was give a quick examination and the wax was sucked out, I was sent for a hearing test and an mri scan in my ear canal. On my return visit I was prescribed some steroid drops which resolved the issue in around 48 hours and even though I completed the bottle I’ve had no problems since, this was all done within a short period of time and wasn’t drawn out.

The admin side of things was a bit bad. Had the wrong shoulder down for surgery and even though said it would be changed still had the wrong shoulder listed on day of surgery. Unfortunately I am in the process of compiling an official complaint regarding the nurse I had on the day of my surgery, worst nurse I have ever had in my 52 years on Thai earth. Truly awful and needs to be removed from the ward.

The experience was very good. However it would be very helpful if X-Ray, MRIs, were confirmed with a text., including date and time of appointment. Also Outpatient reminders do not include the actual time of the appointment and with whom which again would be extremely helpful and may well reduce number of missed appointments.
