My appointment with Dr Madrigal was a breath of fresh air! I've seen more than my fair share of specialists due to complex chronic illness, and I can confidently say that Dr Madrigal is one of the best doctors I have ever seen. I came to him with the hope that he may be able to unpack a suspected misdiagnosis that has weighed on me for 9 years, significantly impacting my quality of life both in the uncontrolled symptoms and management strategies. Safe to say, he exceeded my expectations. He patiently listened, asked clear and thoughtful questions, and exuded a warmth with genuine care and concern (a trait that is sadly not as common as you'd hope among doctors, at least in my experience). He explained the misdiagnosis clearly, what he thinks I may be experiencing instead, and how we can move forward to diagnose / treat it. I didn't feel rushed at all, and it was abundantly clear he wanted to do his best to help me. That care extended to his clinic letter too. Dr Madrigal's letter was easily the best clinic letter I've had from any consultant. Even for bits I found myself struggling to articulate in the appointment, he somehow managed to make sense of it and report it accurately - proving just how deeply he listened to me. His admin team are also amazing, even checking in to make sure I knew what to do next. I truly left that appointment more hopeful than I've felt in YEARS: like I finally may be on the right path to get my life back. All because a highly knowledgeable and kind consultant took the time to compassionately listen. Overall, I would highly recommend Dr Madrigal to everyone I can, and I feel blessed that I was able to see him.

From the moment I arrived at the hospital early in the morning, I was met with such warmth and professionalism. The receptionist who checked me in was friendly and reassuring, setting the tone for what turned out to be an incredibly positive experience. Every single member of staff I encountered from the porter who kindly took me to my room, to the nurses who introduced themselves and made me feel completely at home. Went above and beyond to ensure I felt safe, comfortable, and cared for. The hospital itself was spotlessly clean, calm, and welcoming, which made such a difference to my peace of mind. The nursing team truly stood out: they not only provided excellent care and attention during my stay but also took the time to share their own experiences of the same procedure, which helped to reassure me more than words can say. The recovery nurses were so gentle and attentive after my procedure, and the discharge nurse made sure I had everything I needed before leaving. Every person I met without exception deserves a five-star rating. Their kindness, professionalism, and genuine compassion made what could have been a daunting experience feel calm and positive from start to finish. Thank you so much to the entire hospital team for your exceptional care. I am truly grateful and couldn’t have wished for a better experience. You are all absolutely incredible.

I had been feeling extremely overwhelmed following on from an operation to my brain which was performed by Mr Dan Brown. By the time I left my appointment I was smiling & feeling so much happier as Mr Brown explained the whole event to me & even showed me the CT Scan images showing my brain bleed. I think when something traumatic happens to you out of blue you wake up not knowing what has happened so to have someone who is so professional explain everything to you I felt this was priceless as I walked away from my appointment a much happier person with the knowledge I needed to understand. To Mr Brown & I must say the whole team of nurses, doctors I met in the ambulance, Addenbrookes hospital & the A & E department thank you all so very much for saving my life, I will truly be forever grateful to you & I know my children feel the same way too, THANK YOU x

I had an outstanding consultation with Dr. Coltart. He was incredibly friendly, professional, and attentive throughout our appointment. What stood out most was the time he took to truly listen to my concerns and ask thoughtful, relevant questions. Dr. Coltart’s calm and reassuring demeanor immediately put me at ease. He explained the treatment options clearly and laid out the next steps in a way that was easy to follow. I left the appointment feeling confident, well-informed, and with no lingering doubts. His expertise in dermatology was evident, and I appreciated his honest and transparent approach. I highly recommend Dr. Coltart and will definitely continue seeing him as my dermatologist moving forward.

Mr Phillips showed to be confident and professional. His clear and comprehensive explanation about the symptoms gave me a good understanding of the treatment (steroid injection/s) and rationale behind it. This understanding made me feel more relaxed and focus on the healing process, without raising my expectations. After a week only from my visit, I acknowledge that I can now perform pain free almost any activities of my everyday life. When I woke up this morning a nerve of my wrist clicked as (I felt) to free some kind of internal block. As a result of all this , I am feeling hopeful that Mr Phillips therapy is working well for me and next week I will write and ask to see Mr Phillips again, as I am still experiencing pain if I press the base of my thumb or perform a Filkenstein test.

Arriving at the Lyndhurst Rooms for a Blood test and a CT scan in the hospital. Reception were polite quick and efficient. The Phlebotomist was professional and conducted the tests well. Absolutely fine. However, the CT scan is conducted by the hospital radiology department. Waiting times were extended at the radiology reception(NHS) and in the department(NHS) before the scan. The staff were as expected very good and professional, no issue there, but the waiting time over and above the booked time was between 45minutes to one hour overdue. I have had similar scans in different facities previousy and this does not compare with the London Clinic which is fully private and the same private insurance payer is paying for a private service. the RFH Private Patients could do a lot better.

Dr Ravi Ratnavel

I was seen exactly on my appointment time. Dr. Ratnavel was extremely friendly, engaging, and thorough in his explanation. He immediately identified the issue on my ankles and explained everything clearly and reassuringly and prescribed the right treatment. I also had some concerns about pigmentation on my face and on my tummy, but he reassured that there was nothing to worry about and explained what they were. The whole experience was smooth, quick, and very positive. Dr. Ratnavel has a genuinely welcoming and professional manner, and I left feeling completely at ease. I would highly recommend him to friends and family, and I would not hesitate to see him again in the future. Overall, a wonderful experience with a fantastic team and environment.

This was the second time I visited Dr. Davies (the first time was just after I gave birth and the second time was after I ended breastfeeding) and I was 120% satisfied with both visit. His knowledge about the change of women body after the birth is impeccable. He understood the struggles and concerns new mums would face and provided personalised advice which made me feel reassured and help me to regain my health confidence back. I will definitely go back to him in future as necessary. All staff including the receptionist and clinical assistants are friendly and professional too.

Staff were excellent - both clinical and non clinical team members. Nothing was too much bother and they went over and above our expectations of the care we thought we would receive. We spent 2 nights on the Clayton Ward after I had an unplanned c section. As first time parents without close family nearby, the Clayton ward offered us the guidance, support and care we needed as a new family but also to allow me to get the appropriate medical care as part of post surgery recovery.

The most recent visit was the second day they had transitioned to a new system, which was causing chaos. I waited 10 minutes to register at the main reception, then waited another 10 to register at Borough Reception, and then waited for over 30 minutes for a walk in blood test. Everyone was very apologetic, but it was inconvenient. I hope the new system leads to a more streamlined system once everyone is used to it in future.
