I cannot thank enough Dr Ali for accepting me as a patient. I have been very anxious about having hysterectomy and bilateral salphino-oophorectomy. My local hospital could only offer laparoscopic or open surgery, and because of my hystory of intestinal adhesions, I was destined to open surgery. Fortunately, my brilliant gynecologist ar my local hospital informed me about the existence of vNotes surgery, which is much less invasive and the approach is all vaginal, and referred me to Dr Ali at Epsom hospital. Dr Ali and his team were able to evaluate with a gentle ultrasound that I was a good candidate for vNotes surgery, and explained the procedure with a clear animated video and answered all my questions with great knowledge and empathy. I felt I was in good hands, and since surgery could not be avoided, this was the less invasive option. Surgery lasted several hours and was no doubt complicated, but brilliantly done, because I woke up with no more that mild cramps and nausea. I was discharged from hospital the following day, and back to work in three weeks. Before surgery I felt very anxious and vulnerable, and it was not easy to take the decision to change hospital and doctors I knew and trusted, but I am very glad I did, because I avoided open surgery and all its pain and long recovery time. Dr Ali is an excellent doctor, and I believe his pioneering minimally invasive technique is saving women from unnecessary pain and suffering.

I don't want to ramble on about my previous experiences with audiologists and hearing aids, so all I have to say is that after wearing hearing aids for over 30 years and gradually becoming isolated, defensive, embarrassed and miserable, even with the help of specialists no-one could help no matter how kind and understanding they were. My husband did some research and came across Matthew Allsop and decided to make an appointment at a last ditch attempt for help. We went up to London to our appointment and met Matthew who is at the top of the ladder with regards to his knowledge with hearing technology ............... the long and the short of our visit is that he has completely changed my life! It was a 'Hello World' moment for me, I can hear again! He isn't affiliated to any hearing aid manufacturing company so has access to what is needed for each individual person who needs help with hearing. The care that he takes, how he imparts his knowledge, his kindness and sensitivity to my situation is astounding. The aftercare is ongoing and careful. This is not an advertorial, I am typing this from my heart and will be forever grateful for Matthew being able to change my life.

EVERY admin, nurses (pre-assessment, outpatient and inpatient), theatre staff, ward manager, pharmacist that I spoke to were kind, empathetic and truly cared about making my experience that much easier. Where else can you say that? I wish I could remember names so I can give specific shoutouts to some absolute angels who went above and beyond - like the pre assessment nurse who sorted my appointments so I didn’t have to do the long journey too many times, the nurse on the night shift who got me a heat pack and ice-cream. Another angel nurse who was as determined as me to get the catheter out!! Another rockstar nurse who empathised with my health struggles and bargained with me about keeping them god awful compression socks on! Honestly just every single nurse who cared for me, they never made me feel I was too much and treated me with so much kindness. The theatre staff who talked to me before I went down and held my hand. The Anaesthetist who stayed with me as I came round and chatted holidays whilst pain relief kicked in and wiped tears away. The admin ladies who always greeted me with a smile. And of course, Mr Gan. You’re all angels and I am forever grateful to you.

From the very first appointment you are at ease in his presence, he works with you to care for your health issues. Treatment has been extremely effective for me for which I am so thankful. I highly recommend Mr Gulati and quite honestly would not feel so calm in anyone else's care.

Excellent. IF it is standard practice to ask for a urine sample prior to the consultation ie when you arrive at Reception on the second or third floor, it would be helpful to remind patients that this is likely to occur. This would mean that those arriving and having a pee before they get to the relevant Reception area can refrain from doing so. This would mean that they have plenty in the tank to deal with the requested urine sample and thereby avoid having to drink water while waiting and/or delaying departure until a sample can be produced. I appreciate nephrology may be a particular case but may be it is standard practice in other areas too. What do you think ?

I saw my doctor. My doctor is amazing. I had blood tests. The process was OK, but not all tests as expected were reported. I collected medicines from the pharmacy. Their records of my needs were lacking and they refused to resolve the issues. I had to return to the hospital another time and they had corrected themselves and I received what was prescribed. The fee charging system from Imperial is haphazard and I receive charges that are not even incurred. There are no explanations or discussion. My medicine is charged a price 35% higher than a comparable cancer hospital not far away. Imperial needs to be more transparent and fair in their charges.

I had hip replacement surgery, my admission and pre surgery checks were done professionally and very courteously. The surgery team made me feel relaxed (I was very nervous) and they treated me with care and respect before, during and after the operation. Overnight, the medical staff checked on me regularly, were very supportive and helped with pain management and looking after my comfort Throughout my stay the service staff were very attentive and looked after me, catering for my needs. Overall, I feel I was looked after as an individual and my needs taken care of.

Kingsbridge Private Hospital Belfast is amazing. I was attending for diagnostic purposes. I’ve been on an NHS waitlist for over a year and was recently told I could wait another three years. Non clinical but important. Waiting between appointments I ordered a coffee from the shop at 4.50 pm and asked for a proper cup. Because they cleaning closing down I was told I had to have a takeaway cup as people don’t always bring the proper cups back. I suggest either be honest and just say you want to get off home or trust people to leave a proper cup on a table for collection in the morning. Too difficult or am I being a bit too picky as the rest of the Ashford one appears customer focused?

AS WELL AS THE REVIEW THIS MEETING WAS TO PLAN MY ONGOING TREATMENT TO ENSURE THAT THERE IS A CONTINUED RECOVERY AND SUCH A SERIOUS SITUATION IS AVOIDED IN FUTURE. I was advised that it was a painful operation and I would be out of action for about two months. I agreed with Mr Smith that as I was fairly mobile, and managing my pain at the moment , I would wait until after the winter and see what my position was then.
