Mr Rahul Kakar

Mr. Rahul Kakar is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with over 25 years of experience, based in Glasgow and Stirling. He specialises in hip and knee arthroplasty, soft tissue knee reconstruction, and trauma surgery. Mr. Kakar completed his medical studies at Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute, graduating in 1996. His initial training took place in and around Glasgow, after which he undertook a fellowship in lower limb arthroplasty, trauma, soft tissue knee reconstruction, and knee revision surgery.

After completing his fellowship, Mr. Kakar returned to Glasgow, serving as a locum consultant at Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Wishaw General Hospital before joining Ninewells University Hospital in Dundee in 2017 as a Consultant in the NHS. His clinical practice centres on hip and knee replacement surgery, soft tissue knee reconstruction, and general orthopaedics.

In addition to his clinical work, Mr. Kakar is actively involved in the education and training of junior doctors, senior orthopaedic registrars, and post-doctoral overseas orthopaedic surgeons. He has also contributed to the field through numerous publications in national and international indexed journals.
